SGA in the regular season is legit a ¹⁰⁄₁₀ on offense. He’s decent on defense.

Jokic’s ability to run an offense is ¹¹⁄₁₀, once in a generation. He’s embarrassing on defense.

Vic is ¹¹⁄₁₀ at defense, once in a generation. He’s also really fucking good on offense this year and getting better, though far from complete.

If you weight offense and defense equally then Wemby wins. If you don’t then SGA wins. The voters don’t. Here we are.

I’ve been saying it for months now…

I think one of the next steps for him is slowing down the game and not being out of control at times. He sometimes drives wildly especially when he has a open lane. He usually sees an open lane and drives full speed ahead wanting to dunk on everyone and picks up charges.

Tonight was one of the first times I’ve ever seen him be really patient with an open lane. He faked the 3pt shot and got Hartenstein in the air and drove past him and usually he goes in there trying to dunk and if he would have Shai was waiting for the charge. He was super patient and slow and knocked in almost a floater in the paint in front of Shai.

This is the next step for him where the game slows down and he’s one step ahead and always in control.

MV Bench Warmer

Most people knew it all season, only reason he looked so good is because he wasn’t under much pressure each game. This is why Luka was my MVP. Had by FAR the worst team of the frontrunners and somehow got them a3rd seed by basically being a 1 man offense.

I’m starting to come around on Wemby but his offense was very inconsistent in the regular season.

All this to say, the other MVP frontrunners had clearly much worse teams and what they achieved with them was more impressive than SGA statpadding while his bench could roll most teams starters.

Shai is blessed that it’s 3-3. If you had told me those were gonna be his stats before the series, I would have predicted Spurs in 5.

He has the biggest drop off in TS% of all time from regular season to playoffs. And his efficiency from the field have been dreadful in both post season (46% FG and ~28% from 3) when efficiency was essentially his only major argument for MVP.

Now in a vacuum, that could still be excused. But compared to back to back MVPs? I’m not sure if any of them has had a worst playoff drop-off.

This is the reason. Guards are overplaying the jumpshot, letting wemby bail them out on the drive. It also helps guards not foul shai as much cuz they’re already attached an can contest without jumping. Honestly nightmare defensive scheme against his foul baiting.

How so? OKC is far better when Wemby is off the floor. When Wemby is off the floor, so is SGA. Ergo, Thunder have a higher +/- when SGA is off the floor then when he is on the floor.
