Please don’t be tired for next game bro
okc fucked up he only played 28 minutes hes good
To be fair before game five he only played like 31 minutes
He needs some LeBron recovery methods for game 7.
He’s too young to be hoping on HGH it may stunt his growth
You think the 7’5” Alien isn’t already on HGH?
lol that’s not at all what makes Wemby special. It’s his coordination, HGH isn’t fixing that
Im just being real here, he is definitely on everything NBA players take.
He needs 2023 Jokic conditioning.
For real, he’s been carrying so hard lately. Hope they rest him some 4th quarters if they get a big lead
This guy is going to be a massive problem in his prime
He’s a massive problem right now
lol right? Dude is one game away from competing for a ring… that’s insanely ahead of schedule
22 years old. Think about that. That is unprecedented stuff.
LeBron was 22 in the finals so not unprecedented but not bad company, if he ends up making it.
Different competition honestly, which makes it more impressive. Got swept by a much better team vs toe to toe with previous champs
LeBron had an incredibly worse team around him. Not comparable
Not comparable LeBron was 22 in the finals
Not comparable
LeBron was 22 in the finals
you said both these things
He also didn’t have to play this Thunder team to get there. This Thunder team is stacked 1-10
Pistons weren’t exactly scrubs either and reached 6 conference finals in a row
Wemby is gassed every other game right now. I could count on one hand the amount of times I saw LeBron gassed until he hit his 20th season. Wemby would not be making or contesting for the finals with LeBron’s early teammate.
… Are you serious? The roster construction doesn’t really make a whole lot of sense if you take out LeBron and add Wemby. However! Wemby is far more impactful than LeBron at 22. If Wemby had the luxury of playing in the NBA while LeBron was 22, coaches would not even have the faintest idea what to do with his archetype. If he was allowed to go back in a Time machine and play how he wanted, he would DOMINATE the league… like not even a debate. But if we are being realistic, he would never develop into the player he is today if he grew up in the same era LeBron did. He would probably have to develop into a more traditional big man role, which he would still be incredible at. Just appreciate greatness as you are watching it. If we are lucky, Wemby may end the GOAT debate between MJ and LBJ.
amazing at 22. but that one game will be tough.
He used to be a massive problem, too
if he gets B+ passing and playmaking skills he will be unstoppable
He’s a very underrated playmaker already. Good vision and the passing chops are there.
He’s already a massive problem to the best team in the league
Clowned the reigning champs during the regular season and now taking them to 7 in the WCF, all while exposing their 2x MVP.
I’m so close bros
Yeah I don’t care if they lose by 40 in g7, he showed the entire world that he is miles better than the 2x MVP, certainly a lot more impactful. He can drop 10 points for all I care, they achieved more than 99% of the people thought they would
He’s 7”4 and plays an explosive, athletic game.
He’s in his prime now. There’s no guarantee he’s healthy for 5, let alone 10 years. The spurs championship window is right-fucking-now
There’s also the real possibility that he get’s a lot more consistent, which is all he needs to be the best in the world by a wide margin. If he does that, his current form will not retrospectively be considered his prime.
Yeah Ralph Sampson started breaking down around 26 years old. He hardly missed a game in college/NBA prior to that.
Hes a problem right now
This is his prime, it’s just that this isn’t his peak (barring something catastrophic)
Def not his prime doesnt even have a go to move yet, as soon as he does its over
I’m not understanding this “go to move” stuff? How many MVP-level players in the history of the game have had a “go-to move”?
Dirk fade, steph around that screen, SGA push off, Bron drive the ball, MJ middy, Kareem hook
Harden arm lock beard jerk
You can also add Duncan’s bank shot on that one. In fact, you can even find multiple videos on YouTube where Tim Duncan does basically the same thing his entire career.
The Big Fundamental.
A move you can allways go to thats unguardable and consistent
Jokic said “He is changing basketball. He’s a rim protector, he’s shooting threes. He is unique. I’m glad that I’ll probably retire before Wemby holds the entire league in a chokehold.”
He said this on X&Os Serbian podcast.
Jokic is never wrong.
He’s my pick to be the future GOAT already lol
He set the tone tonight by hitting 3⁄4 threes immediately and hitting contested mid range shots. When the Thunder have to respect his outside shot, their interior defense is so much easier to attack.
That streakiness is a big strength and weakness of his. If this game gets his confidence up again then he can phase out of game 7 by taking too many 3s again.
The streakiness might be caused by the lack of conditioning though. Remember Wemby goes monster mode on one game and then looks gassed and tired by the next one. That’s the question whether or not could Spurs win this series since OKC clearly hasn’t found an answer yet to Spurs’ defense on Shai.
No his shooting has always been streaky from his rookie days. If anything, it’s worse with more rest he gets.
His 3-ball is definitely streaky but I wouldn’t call him an overall streaky shooter
I’m just curious where the fuck that was at last game.
He’s 22, in his 2nd full season and first playoff run, and expending a ton of energy on defense, yet I feel like his lackluster games are being called out more than the MVP in his prime shooting below 40% for the series and getting outplayed by this kid.
fr fr, when he’s hitting from outside like that it completely changes how teams have to guard him. SGA and the rest of the crew looked lost trying to figure out when to close out vs stay home.
rest hard for next game please 🙏 cannot do another thunder championship
Don’t underestimate the Knicks even if the thunder win a title is not guaranteed.
I think it’s less about who actually wins and mroe about the Thunder not winning.
as much as i like the knicks, if its the thunder im not even watching
ayo
Knicks might give them a run… They’re hardcore af.
Ngl that aura gamble with the outfit and not showing up to presser then a masterclass is crazy
1000%
Dude really said “aura over everything” and backed it up immediately. That’s some main character energy right there lmao.
He’s so fucking good. I am embarrassed as an okc fan, I thought they would contain him with such a big game on the line. Thunder got cooked
The only reliable person to stomp Wemby is himself, losing game 5 was largely on him. He looked exhausted as soon as the game started.
I mean you guys do the best ive seen. Hes just impossible to guard when hes on.
Yeah I mean idk if there’s a containment plan for 7’4 stepback 3s lol
If I’m Alex Rodriguez, I am begging Adam Silver to move the TWolves to the East once Vegas and Seattle come knocking.
West looks packed to the brim for years to come (potentially decades if Wemby stays healthy)
lmao for real. Imagine being an owner and looking at a conference with Wemby, Luka, SGA, Ant, Jokic, and LeBron still hooping. That’s a bloodbath every night.
The west has always been like that. At least since MJ retired
Posting with half a quarter left is madness, but in fairness the game appears to be over. The Kornet minutes finally weren’t tipped toward OKC.
Yeah fr, that was a bold move posting that early. But honestly the Celtics looked totally lost without Chet out there for spacing, Kornet actually held his own which I did not see coming.
He’s kinda good
It’s important too that he got some real rest for game 7.
Good news is only 28 mins. Hopefully he can break the “every other game” thing.
Real MVP
Wait but I thought he was ass after game 5?? Man this sub is bi polar af
Hold up I thought he was ass after game 3??
I need this in game 7
ngl wemby always show up he reminds me of mj
Monk Wemby was locked in
Chet and hartenstein can’t matchup with this guy. He owns those frauds. Real basketball player VS fraud basketball players.
I was told that he was washed and he should retire after last game… hope those same people say the same about sga today
Nobody told you this lol
Time to put on the blue light glasses and sleep till saturday
Even better than the stat line says
WE NEED GAME 1 WEMBY NEXT GAME. 🙏
Big game merchant, hes the GOAT fo sho
Wemby’s too good too fast, he’s gonna be hated very quickly. He’s got one year max before the hate train goes his way, even though I’m not gonna jump on board (barring him being a genuinely heinous person or something, which I doubt) . He’s got maximum diplomatic immunity right now though. “I could shoot an OKC player on fifth avenue and not lose any fans oui oui!”
“I could elbow a beloved wolves player in the throat on national TV oui oui!”
Why are the Thunder Floppers so quiet right now? They are always lecturing us. Did the nuns presence silence you?
Great bounce back game. He and the Spurs gonna need to empty the clip in OKC.
Looks like he doesn’t need a monster game like G1 performance
From the get go he is so aggressive and didnt hesitate to take those 3s.
Just an excellent all-around game from him.
https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/1tovqpu/comment/oo471kk/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button aura gamble paided off
Legend has it, bystanders heard him mutter under his breath “t’chao les zouzes, oh hisse la saucisse,” as he walked out the building.
He has to be running on fumes right? This guys is a monster
It’ll be interesting in game 7 how his shot is feeling bc if it’s not falling then it’s going to be super tough game for San Antonio to win bc we can expect OKC to play completely better than they did tonight. Also this seemed like a guaranteed win for San Antonio reminded me of OKC vs Denver game 6 lime off rip OKC just seemed like they were gonna lose.
Please dont put up a stinker in game 7
I’m surprised he didn’t go for 30 tonight
With the way he’s been gassed they should have pulled him out even early fuck the 30 they need him fresh for game 7
he played 31 mins in game 4 and then put up a stinker in game 5. now he played only 28 mins in this game. i hope this doesn’t mean he puts up another stinker in game 7
Bob McAdoo flew so Wemby could travel the stars, what a player.
Win?
There’s no guarantee he stays healthy, and guys this size typically don’t age well.
He’s one of the best basketball players I’ve seen in my life, right now. Appreciate it while we have it.
The funny thing is I don’t really think he was that impactful tonight(not like he was in games 1 and 4), we just sucked
Anything to discredit other players and teams.
What a despicable fan base
Tf? I’m not trying to discredit him I just don’t think he had that much of an impact minus the first 2 threes he hit. They did better in the Kornet mins tonight
LOL that’s wild
I’m not saying he was bad, but he wasn’t absolutely spectacular tonight either
He was 100 percent impactful he came out the gate with 22 ppints at the half.
Meh. Kornet >> Wemby. Apparently. I don’t know.
He was for sure the first quarter and the second half of the second quarter.
Lol you guys don’t drive to the paint because of Wemby. The words impactful and Wemby literally go hand in hand. The impact doesn’t even show in Wemby’s numbers. SGA is a -28 today.
Shai was absolutely terrible and he has been all series, and he deserves to be slandered for it
