Disagree with people saying this wasnt an adjustment. I mean putting him next to Shai on its own was a starting lineup adjustment. I absolutely think they used him more on ball in the second half and it was more effective.

Yeah their defensive adjustments carried the day and yes they made more shots. But the McCain on ball scoring and Shai having a bit more space broke the game open in the second half.

Spurs will have to account for McCain without overreacting in game 6.

Daig did a good job creating more space for the Thunder offense by setting super wide ghost screens on the edge of the court and then instead of the screener staying on the wing, they clear out to the opposite corner. This forced all the defenders to be super close to the baseline, which made it harder for them to stunt the gaps that gave SGA problems in game 4.

You will notice that Shai had a lot more 1on1 opportunities attacking the empty side space because of that

Really. This is all a bunch of jibbering. Thunder bench and role players, McCain included, hit shots in game 4. If they do that in game 5 they win. More likely they don’t and we go to game 7.
