Our team is the youngest team in the nba and in their first post season.
In the WCF following a 62 win season. Against the defending champs and mvp who swept their last 2 opponents.
The last time the knicks had a 60 win season was 92-93.
Spurs have done it 8 times since 94-95.
Wemby alone doesn’t bring us 62 games or playoffs otherwise he would do it.

Why would the NBA favor the Thunder over the Spurs to the point of deliberately rigging the game with bad refereeing…? What’s the logic here? Surely they can make more money off Wemby
At this point, they know it’s the Knicks versus one of these teams. Knicks did not beat the Thunder, but they blew out the Spurs in one game. With the Spurs able to beat the Thunder, the refs have to step in and extend the series so the Knicks get more good rest. Plus, the NBA loves the drama now, more than basketball, unfortunately. Only way to fix it is not to watch.
The argument people make is typically either A) OKC has learned how to manipulate the refs better than any other team, or B) if there is so foul play on the refs’ side, it’s not necessarily incentivized by the NBA (it’s the mob, gambling sites, whatever)
Well those are both totally possible but i am also seeing a whole lot of comments saying that Silver has it rigged for OKC 🤷
This. I ask people why the NBA would rig it for the smallest market team and the responses are often nonsensical.
It creates a bigger villain for the eventual hero to triumph over and also while they are at it, the “flop and drop” style of OKC generates so much social media revenue. The whole is tuning in for the “Thunder show” without really realising it lol

Spurs fan here. Spurs played like absolute garbage tonight, OKC did their thing. Neither team won or lost by the refs.

The spurs playing like ass can be true. But that whole segment with the missed goal tend, the wrong OOB call, not granting the coaches challenge, and the tech gave OKC a huge point swing and you could see it demoralize and deflate the team, who was within striking distance.
Neither team won or lost by the refs, but one team was given more help by the refs, which altered the game for sure.

It was like lets just lineup Wemby as far away from the basket as possible and do zero lobs or inside pick and rolls and lets not attempt to get any offensive rebounds and then instead of doing whats been working for us offensively, lets just air ball a bunch of closely guarded 3s all night. then on defense lets just take a bunch of off ball fouls when they are 40ft from the basket.

Of course, the officiating wasn’t the only reason they lost the game, but it 100% killed their momentum. The Spurs were on a run before all of those awful calls back to back to back. If you can’t admit that you’re just being extremely biased.

And what was Shai doing in the 1st before he got tons of FT’s… he played awful and next thing you know buddy had 17 FTA’s going into the 4th. There were lots of fouls that were ridiculous. Majority of them went OKC’s way. Wemby played bad this game sure, but I never even said anything about him. Spurs missed some easy shots, Thunder made theirs. But when the Spurs started hitting their shots, Tony Brothers said F that let’s give the Thunder the momentum.

Not even a Spurs fan, this is just really hard to watch. They played bad today, but the game would have 100% been closer had the Thunder not gotten the whistle they got today (which they get almost every game).
The Thunder have the lowest free throw rate of the final 4 teams. You’re hearing a narrative and running with it. The Thunder as a team are lower middle of free throw rate, only SGA draws a whistle regularly. The spurs whole game plan is to mug the Thunder and it’s been allowed , which is fine bc the Thunder play physical too, but tonight the refs called all the fouls. For were 32 for Spurs and 38 for Thunder , they didn’t lose bc of refs.
FT rates don’t necessarily dictate who has the better whistle. Not all fouls result in FT’s, it also has to do with missed calls on the other end too. Thunder are just constantly manhandling and don’t get called for fouls. Happens on the other end too sure, but you can’t sit here and tell me the sequence of that goaltend and tech were not utter BS. If you’d read my reply I already stated officiating wasn’t the only reason they lost. Thunder were hitting their shots late in the game, they played better. Let’s not act like the refs did a good job today though, that’s a complete lie. Are you even watching the full game?
What i learned from this game is i want less fouls called… Also, the game thread is toxic AF… some people need to stop gambling or need to turn the game off for their mental health because if I was as angry as I see people get i would not be watching.

The missed out of bounds call off OKCs foot, the missed goaltending, the missed challenge by the Spurs coach AND giving him a technical is one of the biggest referee “fuck ups” I’ve ever seen. Spurs were going on a run too… almost feels…. Intentional

There was the missed goaltending call, which resulted in 2 thunder FTs somehow, then the ball called off of Wemby when it was off Chet I believe. Then there was no acknowledgement of the challenge, and the coach got a technical foul for it. I cant remember exactly but didnt the Thunder score a 3 during this time, and then Shai flops and gets another call right after. Were talking an insane killer of Spurs momentum at the biggest turning point of the game with 3-5 terrible calls in a row all to the benefit of OKC.
I’d have to double check but the lead was down to 10 I think when that stretch happened.
