I hated losing Donte - he plays with intensity and effort all the time and I felt the Knicks dawg meter dropped after him and iHart left. But Shamet has filled Divo’s role perfectly and brings an equal amount of drive whenever he steps on the court.
Plus Shamet is a clearly better defender. Divo was a good defender but we would be out of position when he went for steals, or get stuck on a screen so the defense would scramble with his liabilities. Shamet has been phenomenal as a POA defender or just an on ball wing defender.
Their shooting is equally dangerous. Shamet about to get a nice \(10-15m a year minimum. I could even see a team lacking in spacing go grab him at \)20m AAV
