[Highlight] Dylan Harper navigates his way to a two-handed dunk
Must be fun having Dylan Harper’s basketball skills.
perfect safe landing, you love to see it
Dylan said his mother forbid him from shooting when he was younger, so he had to develop his driving skills (because that’s the only way he could score).
btw, he considers his mother his coach, not Ron Harper. Apparently Ron just set his expectations on how hard he had to work to make the NBA and to listen to his mother. (He didn’t actively coach Dylan.)
Just casual professional baller upbringing.
Ja Morant if Ja Morant is level headed and plays cleaner.
That comparison makes absolutely no sense. They play nothing alike. Massive massive gaps in athleticism, pace, skill, and style.
Like bringing up Ja makes absolutely no sense. Just trying to get easy reddit points.
There are SO many better and more obvious comparisons than a calmer Ja. Come on man
Castle is comparable tho imo.
I feel like there’s a sense of control with Castle’s play vs Ja’s wild and reckless play.
It’s still not even close. Castles a dog on defence, Jas been a cone. I actually think Ja is a way more natural play maker than castle as well. And a freak pogo stick. Castle is much stronger and deliberate with his plays.
Castle is actually pretty unique imo. Very rarely do you see the primary ball handler also be the primary poa defender
Dylan Harper’s like Cade Cunningham.
Agree, also Harper has like 30-40 lbs on Ja
And if Ja Morant was way less athletic
With his wingspan he’s functionally 6’7”+, just a completely different player in all respects
If I could consistently split a double I would be soooooooo happy
his ceiling for me is Cade. but i think I’m the only one who thinks that
there is no way this guy is a rookie bro. rookie with 7 years of nba experience
Just turned 20 in March haha.
But his dad basically made him grow up swimming in the deep end
His mom actually, both he and his brother give their mom all the credit when it comes to how they were trained and coached growing up.
Ofc having a multiple NBA champion’s genetics, advice and overall presence didn’t hurt lmao
Different sport but Timothy Weah for the USMNT says his mom was the one who coached/mentored him in soccer even though his dad was a soccer legend (winner of the 1995 Ballon d’Or and 1995 FIFA World Player of the Year).
to be fair, his dad was probably a bit busy being president of Liberia
Oh I just meant any time he would spend with his dad growing up they would find/play in pick-up games with a lot of talented players.
And if he and his brother couldn’t hang on the court with the adults Ron would make em sit or send em home lol
That Filipino blood showing who the true ball knower
I think his mom developed his basketball game. She coached him all the way through high school
I went to highschool with Harper for two years, I can think of maybe one time I saw him actually walking around on campus, otherwise he was hooping lol. His parents really said NBA or nothing
He’s what they mean when they say you need 5 years of experience for an entry level position.
I’ve never seen anyone with his skills and be completely ok with taking only the best shots.
I would love the experience of having an NBA player as a dad. You must have inherited so much knowledge.
When people talk about job postings that are entry level but looking for 10 years experience, this is who corporate is looking for.
That’s my rookie!!!
Looking like his dad. Ron Harper was no joke. Explosive athlete until his knee injury and then became a viral piece in MJ’s second three-peat
Now all I can think about is a sick Ron Harper coughing all over opponent locker rooms before playoffs lol
BAAANNNGGED IT ON THEM, GOOD LAWWWDDD
His best move since the injury he really hasn’t been the same
This dude will always find a way to get to the cup, so much fun to watch
Making the team with the best defensive rating look like a bunch of pylons
this spurs team is like if you drafted chris paul, jimmy butler, and wilt in consecutive drafts
not saying these 3 guys will have those careers but considering their poise at this age, that’s what i feel like i’m watching
I am sold. He is 100% better than Prime Tony Parker.
Eyyy dont insult Prime Tony Parker offensive skills, Dylan Harper maybe more atheltic due to height and vertical but Prime Tony Parker was f*cking fast as fck and his floaters and teardrops were near automatic theres a reason why he was 2007 NBA finals MVP
yeah, harper (hopefully) eventually is better than prime Parker but not atm just yet, needs that BBIQ
Dont try bro. Everyone underrates the original Spurs trio. But Gino-Parker-Duncan were the winningest trio of all time.
Dont try bro.
Sorry man, not trying to fight its just people here belittling how good prime Tony Parker was. And I think Im rightfully pissed off by it.
At 2011–12 Season, Tony Parker finished 5th Place in MVP voting, securing 4 first place votes and finishing behind only LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Chris Paul, and Kobe Bryant.
Then in 2012-2013 Tony Parker followed up his peak year by finishing just outside the top 5 at 6th place anchoring the Spurs’ offense en route to an NBA Finals appearance.
Tony was an absolute nasty finisher in the paint and had that unstoppable floater. He was also faster than Harper
Shot like 70% from the paint at one point.
That deadly tear drop folder was nasty
nephews here think that Daryn Peterson, someone with no nba and playoffs experience is better than Dylan Harper smh
He has the potential to peak higher than Tony and I assume he will, but let’s pump the brakes
Even a higher peak than Tony is quite a lofty expectation. NBA finals MVP and fifth in regular season MVP in 2012 I think? One of the most underrated pgs of all time to me and an absolutely insane paint scorer. The two foot push floater was automatic. I spent years of my childhood and early teens trying to master it.
Why does this have 11 upvotes
He is 100% better than Prime Tony Parker.
?????? Wat, prime Tony Parker finished 5th in MVP at one point, finished 6th in MVP the following year on the way to Finals 2013 and at year 2007 won Finals MVP
What is this disrespect.
Bill Simmons has brought it up twice in his podcasts that he feels Dylan will be a Top 50 all-time player.
lol why did williams move out of the way
Good shit
That dude is the second best player on a championship contending team. As a rookie.
STUNT ON THEM 😤
Man that was clean
Bro is a vet. The rookies this year were insane
The Thunder had already given up at this point, but Dylan is a dawg.
