Spurs look shook after g3. They got fox and harper for limited minutes and reduced castle’s turnovers yet they lost by a wider margin at home without jdub. It’s too early for them, no shame in that. Even the 1st seeded thunder lost to the 5th seeded mavs in their 1st run with shai.
Just out of curiosity, would either west team have HCA against Knicks
Both do
That’s what I thought, it’s based on regular season record right
yeah playoff seeding doesn’t matter as well. so if west 2nd seed went in with a better reg season record than east 1st seed, west 2nd seed would have HCA.
New ref tonight, going be intereting.
I still believe this will be a 7 game series even if we win. I have faith that Wemby isn’t going to let us get away with this
Who’s ready for the refs to help the Spurs tie this series up!
Scott Foster is the lead official. You know the drill.
I was confident heading into game 3 and a lack of discipline let me down. Spurs have caught some breaks. Can they take advantage?
I’m tepidly optimistic about tonight. I’ve not regained my confidence for the series. Curious if tonight can make me do that. Not sure its possible.
Think they need a splash of luck via getting hot from 3 or OKC players going uncharacteristically cold.
My top concern for the Spurs this postseason has been Wemby’s energy level. He is not used to playing anywhere close to this amount of minutes in such a short span of time.
After the series went 1-1, my take was that the Spurs HAD to win both at home. Otherwise, they don’t have the depth and stamina to win a long series.
Wemby let you down
Everyone let me down. It wasnt just Wemby.
Wemby is your superstar though and he looked like he was only giving about 50% effort
Everyone keeps saying OKC Spurs is a tiring bloodbath and Knicks have the advantage.
OKC has lost one game total this playoffs. Why do we think they wont be fresh against the Knicks?
Playing a physical series against the Spurs and having injuries, I guess.
yup + knicks match well with both teams
Because they’ve already lost two players to injuries. Play a double OT game and have to win another road game vs a really good team to even have a chance to end this series quick.
Tonight’s bigger for the Spurs but even if OKC wins this series, tonights important for next round.
Exactly this. And comments like the OC suggest the series is over when it’s not. It’s 2-1, folks - this series isn’t ending until game 6 or 7, as anticipated.
Sure, they took a home game for the Spurs. Meanwhile, Spurs took game 1 AND Shai’s “MVP” night. It’s pretty balanced at this point, but game 4 will be a big determining factor.
Yall might have taken”mvp night” or whatever but yall havent lost 2 straight since February and you just did. Its not all that balanced rn. Momentum favors the thunder. Its hard to play and win in SA tho im sure tonight will be another banger of a game.
Yeah I’m the least confident I’ve been in 3 months but there’s not a very big chance in my mind this series ends in 5 especially with the current injury situation.
I think people are wildly overreacting to the Spurs “free threes for all” defense the last 3 games lol
I’d anticipate SGA will have to go wild tonight to steal this one. Thunder will have to go up even another level to combat the Spurs desperation. Spurs couldn’t get there in game 2 without Fox. Can the Thunder without Mitchell and Dub?
Scott Foster, go out there tonight and do what you do best, you crazy bastard lol

Any other lifelong NBA fans really turned off by the NBA right now?
Between the style of basketball that is played and the absolute softness and floppiness of these teams nowadays, I’ve lost like all motivation to watch.
Brother, you watched through the Harden era but this was the final straw?
Think it wasent as bad for me when it was mostly just harden. But I think just the year after year of it also has finally done its damage.
Where have you been the past 10 years?
Slowly watching less and less.
Good for you
I’m absolutely biased, but I’m loving it right now lol.
I really think social media has rotted people’s brains. Is everyone soft and flopping, or are the refs not calling anything and letting teams play too physical? Do we want physical basketball, especially in the playoffs, or do we want to complain about no calls?
I have seriously reduced my interaction with NBA social media this season, and I’ve enjoyed it far more.
I also think that if this series was 2-1 SAS right now instead of OKC, everyone would rightfully be pointing out how this series is primed to be an all-timer. Game 1 was painful for me, but it was the kind of game you’ll remember for years.
I would be extremely interested to see the age of most people dissatisfied with the league. My crackpot theory is it’s mostly older Gen Z/younger Millennials that grew up with the guys aging out right now that haven’t totally connected with the new bunch of young guys coming up. I think that’s part of why you see all these “face of the league” discussions, particularly on Reddit, which skews older Gen Z/Millennial.
A lot of people are like this. My dad has been a hater for years now. Magic was his favorite player and my dad’s complaint has been the same for over 10 years now “All they do is shoot 3s”
Happens with music, movies, video games, etc. People like how things were in their youth and get nostalgia for the past. The old heads are still talkin about the 80s/90s and millenials want to hang onto Steph and Lebron.
Im 40. It definately is probably my age.
I really miss low post and high post play. It was fun watching all the 3pt shooting for awhile but now I bore of it.
Its happy folks like you love the game now. I don’t want the NBA to fail. I just don’t enjoy the game anymore with this style of basketball.
Yet here we are, still watching the games.
It’s been an entertaining ECF/WCF and you’re focused on the wrong things.
Not saying or thinking everyone feels the same as me. Im sure im in the minority. Glad this style has attracted so many folks. Im just not nearly as interested. Probably cause im 40 and enjoyed low post/high post play a lot when I was younger.
I think i know why you find the ECF entertaining
Or maybe, you are just a little bias with your team about to break into the finals for the first time in nearly 30 years lol
With JDub and Ajay out for probably the rest of the playoffs, it was a fun ride.
Dropping game 1 really hurt us
Cavs have nothing to be ashamed of. Neither do their fans. For the entire season, the Knicks have been disrespected and dismissed by the media and fans. The Knicks main issues for years was not having enough ball-handlers and turning over the ball entirely too much in the playoffs. The Heat and Pacers built the blueprint to beat them. Funny thing happened this season, however. Towns and the Knicks went through one of the worst stretches in Knicks history. It was then Towns got it. He was ordered to do more than score. In the playoffs, when games go to halfcourt predominantly, he turned into a team player. He facilitated, opening up the game for Mikal and OG. That took weight off Brunson’s shoulders. It kept KAT out of foul trouble. He began rebounding at a higher clip, generating assists, and getting easier shots closer to the hoop. The result? Knicks dominance in the halfcourt ball during the playoffs. The defense got better because Towns actually committed to playing defense like a C. He’s actually closing out on threes. He’s playing physical defense on anyone in the paint. He’s challenging people in the paint. This ain’t the same Towns from his Minnesota days.
Had Coach Brown not foolishly defended CJ McCollum with Jalen Brunson Games 1-3 vs the Hawks, the Knicks sweep the Hawks as well. This ain’t a fluke, fellas. Respects to the Cavs, but the Knicks are not going to be easy to beat in the playoffs.
OKC/Spurs fans who think they are going to have a cakewalk in the Finals against the Knicks have a RUUUUUUUUUUDE AWAKENING coming to them. Knicks are too physical for the Spurs and when push comes to shove, the Knicks will SHUTDOWN SGA in halfcourt sets just like the Pacers did last year. Pacers beat OKC had Haliburton not blown his Achilles. Knicks are going to be BIGGER and STRONGER than OKC on the blocks and will generate the type of hellacious perimeter defense required to minimize OKC’s offense.
Sucks not having the coaching advantage
Rooting for a 7 game series. Today that means Go Spurs!
