Won’t lie, pretty surprised by my goat. Got the take down, took half guard, transitioned to the back for the submission. Wasn’t super pretty, but way better than most fools could do.
That takedown left his neck completely exposed, if Beasley had any idea what he was doing he could’ve easily finished that guillotine.. Also only transitioned after Beasley completely turned his back towards him, which is a big no-no. Once he got the back, he tried choking him out without securing any hooks. Anyone who’s been to a couple jiu jitsu classes would be able to get out of that.
Escaping a guillotine is pretty easy, and Lance did the correct thing to escape it. Turned his body into it. I’m not saying Lance is a black belt or anything, but he successfully got a takedown and looked far more comfortable on the ground than Beasley did. He has to have taken at least a couple BJJ classes in his life.
I’m just saying, that takedown was garbage and he didn’t level change whatsoever. Escaping is easy when you know what you’re doing, which I don’t think Lance does, it’s just that Beasley didn’t know how to apply a proper one. Anyone with some level of training also wouldn’t try a RNC without any hooks in lol.
