Charles Barkley: “They (OKC) ain’t playing dirty, and I’m like: ‘These are some of the softest fouls I’ve ever seen in my life’”
Chuck got in fights for less.
Also been kissed harder too
Those San Antonio women are built different
Build like a steakhouse, but handles like like a taco truck.
Where can I find this build? Asking for a friend.
San Antonio, keep up
It was a male ref he kissed

dem big ol woman
Man that’s what I love about Chuck, he’d throw an elbow and call it a love tap. These guys today flop like they got sniped from the rafters.
Yes, it’s amazing that some of ‘the best athletes in the world’ have such poor balance. The people who really earn their money during these games are those who have to almost constantly mop up the floor after these ludicrous flops.
I mean Mitch Johnson said the same thing but fans are gonna complain and make excuses regardless lol
it’s hilarious how when chuck says this, it will barely get upvoted
but when jay williams said the opposite, it reached 10k upvotes with ease
genuinely hilarious
Williams also is a bum as an analyst. This sub would upvote Tucker Carlson if he called out Shai
This sub would all wear red hats if Trump made fun of Shai.
“You know I really hate Trump but I got to admit this was funny” +173628 karma
I think the basic essence of trump’s success is that eventually he gets around to bullying someone you think deserves it
Have never experienced that. He only picks on those who can’t fight back.
M(NB)AGA
This is too close for comfort
The sad part is that’s probably true lmfao
But if you call it out, it’s suddenly Thunder fans have a victim complex 😮💨
Hitler AI calls out Shai: 2340923840 upvotes, front page
“The NBA has become nothing more than the leftist victimhood Olympics of foul baiting. What are we doing here?”
Foul baiting. That’s the rule. That’s the goal now
And the video showing Jay Williams with the complete opposite opinion a year before was taken down lol
Jay Williams praised Wemby for taking action into his own hands in the elbow on Naz, then turns around and claims that OKC is flopping and playing dirty. Zero consistency lmao.
All my homies hate jay williams
Justice for Naz
Charlie Kirk would’ve survived if he had Naz Reid’s neck
It really exposes the folks on here. Most of them are casuals and don’t watch the playoffs.
We live in a time where popularity is a number that can easily be artificially inflated.
Players say it, coaches say it, ex players say it, but of course Redditors know better than all them
Hey now, I was the best baller in my elementary school P.E. class. Take that back. 😤
I would cook Shai on the court, but first pass me the bag of Doritos.
As a spurs fan we just lost nothing else to say, game 3 was the least enjoyable of course cause we lost at home but the refs were way too damn fast with that whistle.
Edit: I don’t mean they favored a team but in general, the whistle was kind of annoying. Even when OKC was called for a foul I mean some of them were soft as shit for the WCF
Nobody wants to watch 33 free throws in one quarter. Was a rough watch for sure
60+ fta in one game is a tough watch.
I think there are some holds that needed to be called more in game 2, but were talking like 3-4 maybe. Game 3 there were a lot less. The hair pull thing was different but something that hasn’t happened again.
Overall OKC are playing very physically but that’s mostly how playoff games go. Game 3 sucked with OKC drawing a million fouls, but most of them were there. The spurs D dropped off in that game and the end of game 2 and let OKC draw these fouls. While game 1 the spurs D was exceptional and didn’t give OKC the ability to draw all the fouls they have in other games.
Way too many people treat Wemby like he’s a little boy.
[removed]
So many reaction gifs I would reply with if I could
McCain brought light into my life
You’re welcome….sixers fan 🥲
I wish this sub would allow pictures and gifts like the Hockey Sub. But nah. They gotta enforce rules or some bs like that lol
Like I said before:
I feel like pirouetting to worm a shot by Wemby isn’t winning basketball. If I’m coaching against him, I’m telling my guys to run through him for 4-7 games and make him earn the charges. He’s not exactly built like Beef Stew. Be the Derrick Henry to his Earl Thomas.
As the saying goes: you don’t avoid shot blockers; you go through them to knock them off their spot. The basketball purist in me who enjoys good defense thinks that that should be a charge and the restricted area should be removed but if this is the way the game is called, go through the defender.
I would love to know how 28 other fanbases expect their teams to defend Wemby. Show zero physicality and just let him grab rebounds over your team’s head for the sake of “ethical hoops?”
For real, Wemby is the new Shaq. The game is broken if you just let them do what they want. They’ll straight up score 100 points if you let them. Nah, they gotta take it.
Suns had success against him early in the season by being physical. Wolves got him frustrated as swinging elbows last round by being physical. Thunder are just running that playbook and it has worked the last two games. Only part I question is the holding in the paint to prevent him to getting good position for rebounds and blocks. If they called Wemby like they did Shaq back in the day, he’d have a lot more free throws.
That’s my view on it, too. Do what you gotta do but at least call it every 5 possessions to keep them a little honest.
I rooted for Bruce Bowen and Manu Ginobili so I’d be a huge hypocrite if I started shitting on OKC for gaming the game. Sure it’s fucking annoying when it’s happening to you but no one became a champion by being a boy scout.
Exactly. People never watched elite paint players I guess? Anyone who is strong/big is going to get absolutely abused (hit, grabbed, scratched, pulled) every possession. Anyone who has played even a semblance of organized basketball past middle school knows this. The refs just don’t call it, plus OKC has a hyper-efficient MVP with the same discourse as Rockets Harden on the biggest stage right now. They’re all getting caught up in the media narratives while coaches/players don’t seem to care. OKC seems to be getting a better whistle this year, I agree, but they’re not doing anything we haven’t seen year in, year out. Go look up a picture of Jokics arms lol
Fucking respect, man. Nothing else to say.
People are really so fucking soft when it comes to Wemby. I think his reactions play a big part in people’s perception of what’s happening to him.
The contact is a lot more noticeable than other bigs because he just genuinely gets pushed around very easily—McCain was bodying him last night. He also embellishes a lot of contact, especially the pushes, holds, and shoves. A guard will barely touch him and he flies across the court.
Its hilarious watching Wemby stan youtubers like Rusty Buckets sound like the “leave brittney alone!!” guy from 20 years ago lmao
I got Rusty muted on YouTube because of the way he’s been covering the sport recently.
That big boy is so fucking annoying If u got some non biased yt mugs to suggest I’d appreciate it lol even Kenny was on dick about ts, just want some mugs who’ll either hate equally or don’t hate but hearing social media narratives from talking heads isn’t enjoyable, I got Reddit to appreciate bitching YT is for leisure
Kot4q was pretty nonbiased about it, basically saying “hey they gotta do what they gotta do to defend wemby”
Kenny is usually pretty objective, tho i havent seen his stuff in a while. Funkydiabetic is the goat imo, hoops tonight with Jason Timpf is really great with XOs and is at least open about his biases and tries to not let them cloud his judgement
Rusty has gotten so annoying to me, idk whats changed or if its just me but if youre gonna be a blatant homer you should be upfront about your biases and takes instead of badly pretending to be anti-“espn hot take”. Its the arrogance of someone who thinks theyre a lot smarter than they really are lol
Also one of the worst Bulls fans on youtube, the guy cannot be reasonable or objective when it comes to Giddey and is an annoying doomer/complainter about the Bulls most of the time, just a chore to listen to about them. At least Kenny brings some joy and analysis
I quit him near the start of this season couldn’t handle his crap anymore
SROS/Just Ballin’, he just loves the game
Not to mention the fact that Wemby intentionally lands HARD on everyone. He weaponizes that shit. It was so obvious during the Spurs-Timberwolves series… and it’s obvious now.
Still waiting for r/NBA to catch on to this.
The Blazers series imo was the worst with this. Wemby crushing dudes in that series.
Then crushing himself on the floor.
Mother fucker looked like Raiden flopping against Randle
There is no world where any player should get bodied by Jared McCain lol
During game 2, Reggie at some point said outloud: “Hartenstein is what, 30-40 pounds heavier than Wemby?”
Official numbers have them separated by 13lbs, and that’s a while ago with Wemby constantly looking to put up muscle since.
There is definitely a narrative that he is a poor poor skinny kid being bullied when in reality he’s a 7’6 basketball messiah who shouldn’t be treated with soft gloves
Functionally he probably feels 30-40 pounds heavier, it’s the center of mass and just Wemby’s overall tall and lanky build where I feel like a stouter defender might be able to hold him back from his desired position.
If Wemby was actually 40 pounds lighter he’d be getting sent flying
You’re not wrong that functionality and center of mass matter more than just the sheer number, cue the McCain bump, it’s ust that saying “that 7’6 fella probably weights 40lbs less than that 7ft guy” when there’s no absurd discrepancy is still crazy lol
All these people see him as the meal ticket for the next how ever many years. The league already fudge the draft to send him to a team that was not going to squander him and has great coaches.
Imagine wemby in DC or in a spot where he is playing secound fiddle to a vet who would resent him.
All and all the this play off series just showing the structural problems with the NBA media and the league it self.
I’ve gotta give fans a little grace.
I definitely farm the rage for my amusement, but they’re just super tired of the dominance of OKC and are grasping for anything they can to bring them back down to earth and they were desperately hoping that’d be Wemby. We’re at the bargaining stage of realizing that ain’t gonna happen. Acceptance is probably a few days away.
Realistically (I know it can be hard to be at this point), San Antonio hadn’t made the playoffs in 9 years. The Blazers and Wolves gave their fans inflated egos. The Spurs hadn’t been completely playoff tested by this point.
Th series isn’t over yet, but their players and fans are getting humbled.
people should be thankful the Thunder are doing this to him they literally gave them a blueprint to stop the inevitable dominance of Victor
You just need a historically great defence yourself with 5 all defence players in the rotation? Sounds simple enough to replicate.
And an elite bench to cover the gaps when you lose the Wemby minutes
He kinda is a little boy
A little boy who intentionally and aggressively elbowed Naz Reid in the face
we’re all scared he will break in two
Wemby himself literally said the physicality in this series is no different than any of the previous 12 playoff games he played.
It’s just social media and their hate boner for OKC who are making a big deal out of it.
I mean, Hartenstein is owed two minutes for hooking.
As is Wemby but many ignore his flops and holds.
He literally got a foul on a review with a slight hold on jaylen Williams. In the same review u can see hartenstein hooking kornet much worse. Its the consistency they’re calling it is the problem
It was consistent. The refs ignored both fouls until OKC challenged the out of bounds call. You either don’t even understand how challenges work, or you are just being biased because it didn’t go your way. Regardless, when a call is challenged, refs can only look for things that directly result in the call, aka proximate to the play.
Ihart and Kornet being tangled up was not proximate to the out of bounds call. It was completely irrelevant to the review.
Wemby and Jwill being tangled up was proximate to the play. Wemby was holding Jwill’s arm down hard enough to restrict his jump, which threw him off balance and caused him to be unable to grab the ball with both hands. That foul directly caused the ball to go out of bounds. That’s why they were able to overturn the call to a foul on Wemby.
Look at this nerd, knowing how shit works and explaining it clearly.
Refreshing on this sub.
keep that shit out of this sub
The nba is definitely conspiring with the refs so prime market OKC wins another title😎
Always helping those big market teams like LA, New York and Oklahoma city
The only difference is that one was directly involved in the play and the other was not, if the ball went towards Kornet and Hart and yall challenged afterwards, it would’ve been a foul on Hart. It’s all relative to the play going on
This is not about OKC, this is Wemby specific. People were doing the same thing last series.
They were legitimately acting like we were beating the shit out of Wemby and he finally had to fight back with the elbow. Wemby is just soft. Spurs fans are soft. NBA fans are soft when it comes to him.
Cult of Wemby is real on this subreddit.
Just give it a year, the sub will do a total 180 and hate everything he does
Come on, people have been complaining about OKC whistle since last playoffs.
Ok. What does that have to do with this?
Everything Charles is saying right now could have been said 2 weeks ago when OKC didn’t have anything to do with any of this lol. OKC was busy killing the Lakers while this exact same discourse around Wemby being “fouled” and “hacked” was going on. People are not making a big fuss just because it’s OKC.
Its both, your fanbase was saying all this same shit about OKC last year in the WCF.
I’m not talking about the people saying they just want it called the same on both ends. That is obviously an OKC related talking point.
I’m talking about the people who are just soft as fuck and want every little whistle blown. Those people were saying the same shit last series, and it didn’t have anything to do with OKC or the shit people always say about you guys.
That’s fair. It is funny because I hear Spurs fans constantly cry about the physicallity but then they defend Wembys elbow to Naz neck. Also before game 3 they were all hyping up the clip of Champagnie saying they beed to play more physical, and then they still cry about physicality when they supposedly wanted it lol.
It’s so crazy man. Then they get exactly what they want and they still get blown out.
That third quarter yesterday was fucking insane.
Soft in the midsection from double fisting churros
Hair pulling is for sex only yo
Ihart is playing physical, but that’s most games in the playoffs
If there aren’t two bigs banging eachother in the paint, are we even watching playoff basketball?
“When a guy’s banging you…”
“Cause when you can feel their body…”
“Uh… cmon”
You fucking bang back brother on god
Shaq: *making windex bottle noises
He can’t handle my girth a tonnage
“wait a minute, something ain’t right”
Bro he intentionally pulled a players hair. If that’s “just being physical” then so is throwing a right hook at someone, or crescent kicking their head into oblivion. If players inflicting pain onto other when it’s not in anyway related to the actual play on the court is “just being physical” then I don’t see how players should ever be held accountable for literally anything.
Brother man. Watch the full speed clip. He did not pull his hair. Its a dumbass narrative presented by Reggie Miller watching the slow mo. He did not remotely clinch his fist. You can make the argument he intentionally swiped down on his head, maybe. Stop using shit like this to justify your hate for a team. Shits pathetic and objectively untrue. If it were true we would see the nba rule and suspension or very least a fine. We fucking havent! Nor will we because the full speed video shows what really happend. Dude has a bee hive on his damn head and his fingers got stuck in it as he was running down the court. Zero clinch or pull. It was a fucking accident.
Right I’m sure pulling hair and holding arms and flopping every play are normal playoff basketball
Chuck is right again, this sub doesn’t want fouls called, but also thinks you shouldn’t be allowed to play physical defense
This sub wants the Spurs to get the whistle they think OKC gets
And the sub explodes when sga gets a call, even if it is something that’s been called for years. Like the foul on his 3 point shot in game 3… its being posted everywhere and its as obvious a foul as there’s ever been
wild because wasn’t it a pump fake and he got the defender in the air? that’s the easiest call a ref could ever make
Pump fakes are a great strategy that all great players should have in their arsenal. It’s crazy to me that the casuals can’t understand this.
They also dont want tanking but hate any proposed draft measure including the lottery which was put in place to reduce tanking
goomba fallacy
Yeah it kinda makes my head spin when I try to make sense of it.
Game 2 was ridiculous, but not in a “they’re trying to injure him” kind of way. They got beat in game 3.
That’s what I’ve been saying. There were some bad non-calls in game 2 but we can’t blame the refs for game 3. We played like shit after the first quarter, especially the bench, and 4 rebounds for Wemby is unacceptable.
I’m not worried yet. This series could just as easily be 2-1 Spurs right now if some calls went our way in game 2. Game 3 is the only game so far that one team really outplayed the other. First two games were even. It’s still far from over. But with that said if we lose tonight I have no hope lol
but we can’t blame the refs for game 3
You can’t blame the refs in any of the games, full stop. Downvote me all you want but the “trap SGA all game and force our bench to beat us” strat has obviously resulted in…well OKC beating y’all
Only dirty play I’ve seen in the playoffs so far was wemby trying to decapitate naz Reid
Hartenstein pulling Castle’s hair was pretty dirty.
I’ll add in Dyson Daniels trying to shoulder socket Mitchell Robinson, but semi understandable when you’re getting dunked on by 50 points in the 2nd quarter.
They won’t like it here, and r/nbatalk is pretty much r/ihateokc lmao.
I don’t even like OKC but, I don’t know what people want lol.
Refs were homecooking a bit during game 3, or we don’t talk about it ?
Dude nba talk is the most brain dead basketball sub I have seen on this app. I genuinely had to mute that sub because the whole entire sub is “I hate shai” +1k upvoted
We used to meme nbatalk and r/nba has become exactly the same
Yep it’s been essentially brigaded by that group. Jokic fans are now Wemby fans and they all hate OKC
NBA discourse as a whole has been r/ihateokc
I have like a vested rooting interest against them and the way ppl have such a hate boner for them still has me kinda glad when they just continue to dominate like.. i love wemby but OKC gets absolutely no respect for what they are accomplishing rn
I want them to keep winning titles if it’s not going to be the Pistons just because I’m that petty and this sub has gotten beyond cancerous.
Also the fact that ik absolutely zero thunder fans makes it pretty easy too lol
I feel the same way, I root against them since both teams are contenders, but this hate is wayy overboard and just plain nonsensical at this point
Most ppl on this sub/tiktok/insta don’t watch the games, they watch the highlights shown to them with the angle the op spins it into. Shai and Okc bad? Then let’s ram the narrative into the ground simple as. These are the same people who hated on Bron during his prime and who would’ve hated MJ during his
I blame /u/MrBuckBuck
I mean this OKC team is literally everything the old heads asked for, if we’re combining the skill of today’s players with the physicality of old, I’m kinda with them. Also the flopping needs to get fixed, but people blow it out of proportion, Kobe and MJ were the originators of studying the rules and gaming the system, modern players have taken it a lil far but it’s the same spirit.
People used to complain about MJs superstar whistles and push offs too hell they used to call LeBron a flopper and make hella memes about him not being clutch until he was lol NBA complain sooo much about everything
People hated Curry too, I feel the respect comes after for most all timers
Also the flopping needs to get fixed, but people blow it out of proportion,
I watch a fair amount of OKC and its pretty clear that they’re able to play through and win in a more physical game. They’ve just optimized working the refs. If the refs call those fouls early, they keep doing it all game. But if they don’t get the early whistle, they will buckle down and play through it until they can pull something like what the did last night on the Wemby challenge. So long as the game is consistently called OKC will play whatever style necessary to win
That’s the most frightening thing about this OKC team. They are comfortable in ANY situation. They don’t need specific conditions to align for them to win
Not only are they better at gamesmanship, the Thunder are also just a more skilled, more experienced basketball team than the Spurs.
No, it’s not what the “old heads asked for”, lmao. It’s just straight up how big men are played by everyone. It’s still softer than anything from even just 15 years ago. Wemby is skinny and everyone is glazing him and suddenly the fouls are hard. No one gives a shit when Gobert gets hacked or any other big dude.
Charles literally just said these are softest fouls he’s ever seen and he’s not lying.
Used to be, if your shot wasn’t falling, you would drive and draw contact. It was called “finding a way to score”. I don’t find it any different to take that same philosophy and apply it even if your shot is falling. Players like Wade were doing the same thing 20 years ago.
It’s the same argument with the Eagles and the quarterback sneak. There’s a lot of pearl clutching and pretending it’s a gimmick and that other teams are too high minded and honorable to do the same thing. No they’re not. These are multibillion dollar teams that spend dozens of hours every week combing through film to find any tiny advantage. They’re just not as good at this particular thing.
You know what I do find unacceptable? A player who’s supposed to be the greatest player in the world, someone supposedly robbed of the MVP, who when he sits his team basically collapses, being “tired” after playing 37 minutes and only scoring 21 and 26 points. That same player, at 7’4”, being completely unmatchable, getting 4 rebounds in a game the team couldn’t afford to lose. That same player losing his cool and getting 2 techs for completely unnecessary contact.
The Spurs aren’t going to lose this series because of flopping or because the Thunder are “too rough” on defense. They’re going to lose it because they have absolutely no answers when Wembys not on the court and because he was load managed too heavily and now can’t handle the kind of load that Superstars need to pull in deep playoff runs. Jordan, Kobe, LeBron, they’d be laughed at for only playing 37 minutes when it’s clear their team needs them to drop 40 to have a chance to win. James Harden has played 40 minutes twice in his own to-be-sweep and nobody’s saying he looks tired. If you’re a superstar, you don’t get to sit in the conference finals.
It also is strange to me that more teams don’t try to figure it out. It can lead to points.
I think they do they just don’t have the scoring prowess to do so. Luka flops probably more than anyone’s, but he’s a generational offensive talent, Jokic does, Deni does, Embiid and Harden do to. I think you need the respect as a great scorer or play maker to be able to have the people bite on everything you do. Always frustrated me how Giannis never tries to sell anything, he’s fouled on every drive but he is so strong it doesn’t matter or effect his shot, but flail the arms a bit and he’s at the line so many more times a game.
Austin Reaves said it himself that it’s what you have to do to get calls. Okc is 17th in free throws. Now why would they want to shoot less.
Honestly I was thinking the way the Celtics and wizards used to just beat the fuck out of LeBron and obviously the Jordan rules compared to that Wemby got it easy😂. In fact I think Minnesota was playing more physical with Wemby than OKC
Absolutely fucking agree! Minn was putting it to Wemby and EVERYONE took it to LeBron constantly bc he’s one of the greatest.
The bots here haven’t actually watched basketball before so, ya know.
Thank you seeing people clip and complain about defenders leaving their feet and (rightfully) getting called for fouls has me seeing red. These idiots haven’t watched basketball it’s clear as day it’s a foul and has been for a long ass time
Same here dude. The defender is aggressively over committing to contest the shot on a pump fake because he’s been thoroughly cooked and he’s way out of position. Guys hanging in the air above Shai and Reddit seems to think it’s immoral for Shai to not let him land and have another go at guarding him.
ITT: several markings on the grass from several goalposts being moved
No don’t you understand?!? it’s never been about how many freethrows he takes, or how many fouls he draws, it’s always been about… checks notes… How often he falls to the ground after jump shots.
It’s been really fun to watch the talking points evolve with time.
And Redditors will act like they’ve always been bothered by the amount that Shai has fallen to the ground.
I mean it’s literally written in the rulebook that it’s illegal to fall down. We all know this.
People watching games don’t care about physical defense. The position of the fans basically boils down to: stop calling so many “legal guarding position” body fouls, call more hacks holds and push-offs, eject floppers.
This shouldn’t be so difficult.
I don’t hear anyone complaining that OKC is “too physical”. They complain that they “flop”, and that that they “commit fouls” that “aren’t called”.
Chuck always keeping it real lmao
Let them play ball, either way this sub will bitch cause there’s nothing else to do when your team is being dominated. Love okc or hate okc, don’t hate the player- hate the game!
Chuck’s take is spot on honestly. People just want to find something to complain about when their squad is getting cooked, but OKC is just playing clean ball and getting calls for it.
SAS fans and OKC haters are some whiny bitches
it’s their safe space bro
Just Wemby fans in general. Theres a good portion of SAS fans how arnt bad.
I just want to watch basketball 🙃. Then the game ends and I go about my day regardless of the outcome.
Charles dont say this ab reddits wholesome chungus
If OKC isn’t playing physical against the best bigs on Earth then I’d be pissed off! Fuck softie fans.
Tbf Wemby and previous players his height get injured easily. Yao Ming had a solid 4 years in the NBA before he was cooked
I blame the Rockets, they had Yao bulking up and gained weight, more weight means more stress on joints and feet and that’s how Yao got injured.
Also team China for not letting him rest over the summers
The amount of miles he had on his body before he was even drafted was insane
Why. Why. Why are we faulting the players for whistles the officials give them?!!?
JFC, it’s a league issue, not a player issue.
Hahahahahah after this sub was so excited about what he said two days ago hahahahahahah
He was defending the Thunder two days ago too. People are just too low IQ to even understand it
Yeah. He’s saying the same thing as he said two days ago.
NBA is sort of low-key rigged
-bill burr
Bill Burr took it upon himself to whitewash the Saudis. I trust his judgment.
I like nba Reddit the best bc there are fans that know this and post it. Burr is a moron who ever now and then stumbles into a good take. Truly, dumb, phony, both sides are bad w/e clown
Burr is literally a professional clown (comedian) who admittedly doesn’t read. It’s hilarious when people look up to him as some kind of guiding star. He’s a man who’s job is telling jokes. Why are jesters held to higher standards than elected officials or CEOs of megacorps?
And I say this as someone who hates Saudi Arabia and the cucked gulf states who are just resource extraction vehicles and imperial force multipliers for America and Israel while being run by some of the most morally corrupt rulers on the planet who somehow masquerade as righteous. Insane.
It’s really on the refs tbh. People also seem to conflate Shai’s whistle with the team’s on defense
Wemby’s next summer training should be with the big ol’ women of San Antonio to strengthen himself.
The old heads are the ones actually enjoying the series
No doubt because they don’t read Reddit and social media to figure out what to be outraged about.
That Ajay Mitchell foul wasn’t even hard 😭 the caruso one was harder. But of course castle had to overreact
There’s a whoooooooole lot of no flairs commenting on this post.
Lotta people crying he doesn’t buy into their narrative
Chuck knows hard
They say watching free throws is unwatchable but are clamoring for more Spurs free throws, it’s crazy. The Spurs have shot more FT than the Thunder but people are still salty
Third quarter last game the refs were calling everything against the thunder to keep the spurs in it
I am an old head but Charles Barkley really does need to stop with the when I played basketball it was like a world war II documentary stuff. I grew up loving my ‘80s basketball, and I am the first one to tell you if you were caught hooking another player arms to stop them from getting rebounds, doing that was called a foul by referees if they saw it.
It’s not about physical. When you look at ben Wallace game it was physical too but there where no hook, no holding or pulling arms, no step on the foot. And when it happens they called the foul. Okc isn’t playing physical, it’s playing like snake. There is nothing good to watch. I would rather watch physical game like Barley or Wallace rather than this OKC team
No no no. You’re supposed to let Wemby do what he wants! It’s good for the game!
This is why we need fresh new young analyst who understand the game for what’s it is now instead of comparing everything to 30
It’s not the physicality being the issue. It’s the calls going one way and mostly one way only. If they’re being physical, either the refs let it go both sides or call both sides. Shai can stay on the court when they’re in the lead by a margin at 4th, while his other role players sit the bench because OKV knows Shai can’t get touched.
It’s not the physicality per se, though there are deliberately dirty tactics used. It’s more of the contrast between how physical they are on defense and the dainty flailing fairy antics on offense that’s the problem.
We don’t need Chuck, Shaq, J-Williams, Nick Wright, etc etc to give us our opinions. We see it with our own eyes.
I don’t think too many people are complaining about the physicality - just the fairness of the whistle
Spurs got the waaaay better whistle in game 3 and still lost though.
That 3rd quarter was nasty.
I left home when the 3rd quarter started, went for a walk with the dogs, went to the shops, came back and it was still the 3rd quarter.
Also in the first quarter of game 1. They were in the penalty on soft fouls with about 7 minutes left
Did not see people complaining about whistle in game 3 though.
The Spurs got a lop sided whistle in game 3 and you wouldn’t imagine what happened.
For sure. Fair whistle and it’s 3-0 OKC. I’m glad you see that, brother. Thank you. Good luck on the sweep
Up to date, SAS are 69⁄79 from the free throw line and OKC 63⁄76. SAS has committed 65 fouls to OKC committing 75. Wemby has shot 25 free throws, SGA has shot 26. Seems pretty fair from what I’ve been watching
It’s cope, no one is actually looking for fairness, they just want the calls to go against the team they want to see lose.
