[Injury] De’Aaron Fox leaves the court in pain after contact going for loose ball with Lu Dort
Yall hating on Dort, but that wasn’t dirty at all.
Yup, just unfortunate. This was not a Dorty play
Normal play
Yup, shit on Dort for all the things he does but this is not one of those
Yeah I wasn’t paying attention and when I heard “Fox looks like he reinjured his ankle on the play with Dort” I thought “of course it was Dort” but then saw the replay and it was not dirty at all
I have plenty of other reasons to hate on Dort
Wasn’t dirty he just thicc
Most caked up Thunder player
Reminds me of Kyle Lowry for Toronto.
Yall fighting an invisible battle
Lol sort by controversial I promise you theres a contingent that seriously thinks like this
I was ready to hate but this one ain’t it. This is mildly reckless at the very worst. Not dirty at all.
Idc, I will still hate on Dort for the other half a dozen times he hurt someone with a dirty play.
Tell that to the live game thread
I hate Dort, I think he’s a dirty player, but this was not a dirty play.
His booty ass just happened to fall onto Fox’s leg in that play. Normally he’s dirty but that really wasn’t on him.
Ofc because cattle NBA players created a narrative in their mind so now everything okc does is dirty but when golden boy wemby does it it’s ethical basketball
I think in general diving on the ground for the ball is very dangerous and should be banned. But as the rules allow it, there was nothing Dort did wrong here.
You gotta dive for the ball, this is unfortunate for Fox
Natural Diving Motion
God you all hate relentless
Remember the clip of Wemby diving at Shais knees in game 2 that kept getting taken down on this sub, I fkn remember
🎗️I Remember
A lot of Thunder fans got straight up permabanned from this sub for posting it or other fouls on the Thunder.
Pepperidge Farms remembers
remember the clip of shai humping wemby
I remember
Sweep the leg
yeah, it was….
Fox was clearly hurt, why put him back in?
Because we are losing and are desperate
Yea, I like Castle a lot but yall desperately needed Fox/Harper to be the primary ball handler after those first two games.
Castle just isn’t developed enough to be a primary ball handler in the Western conference finals unfortunately. Most sophomore guards wouldn’t be either so that’s not anything to unexpected. Harper looking like he is ready as a rookie is the real anomaly (while playing through an injury himself).
100%
Could be mistaken, but that was never his game in college. I think he played mostly off ball at UCONN
Yeap, it’s actually incredible how much he’s improved his on ball skills but facing this historic OKC defense is another matter. On a side note, I do liken him to a supercharged Jrue Holiday.
Jrue was better in New Orleans. This is jrue erasure.
100%. I think I see more of a Jimmy Butler archetype. His ability to drive and draw contact is already elite.
So you gamble your future for a chance to win today?
Actually you do. People always think about “we will have another chance” but look at how many good/great players only got one chance at getting in the finals.
Uh yeah I know
Yes. Because future is uncertain and the present is here already.
Yes? You give up anything if it gives you a chance to win a championship now.
In what world is Fox the future of the Spurs. He’s one of the only players who isn’t part of the long-term plan.
Haliburton has said repeatedly he would do everything the exact same way last season tu get a championship.
Yeah I have no idea why he was still out there when he was clearing favoring the ankle
I wonder if that’s how little they trust Castle to handle the ball. 20 TOs in two games was probably too much
Partially to just relieve pressure on Castle, plus Harper seems to be on a minutes restriction with his adductor strain.
Fox is our starting point guard. It’s not about how little we am trust castle. Is this first take?
and… dude is back on court again
Because hurt doesn’t mean injured and this is the playoffs.
Exactly
Similar reason Haliburton went into Game 7 of the finals and got injured.
Players choosing to win over their own safety, and coaches/medical staff looking the other way
Because they feel the series slipping away. I’m pretty sure all players in the league would have gutted that out.
I realize the reputation but Dort didn’t do anything wrong here.
Yeah, honestly I feel like this game has been pretty even on physicality but hate for the thunder is a bit too high at the moment unfortunately
I’m no Dort fan by any means but he’s going for the ball here. Just an unfortunate collision
Dort obviously has some dirty plays but his tendency to play so hard on every play is another reason why he’s involved in injuries so often both are true
Even if he didn’t constantly straddle the line he’d still end up causing plays like this with his style
dort plays with this mindset of “I’m gonna do this thing and it could injure you so if you don’t want to get injured then you should get out of the way cuz I’m doing this anyway so if you get hurt then it’s actually your fault for choosing to get hurt”. which for fans of the team he’s playing for, it’s hustle and passion. and for everyone else it’s reckless.
If everyone wants to hate on him for this then they have to concede that Wemby was dirty for taking out SGA’s knees diving for a loose ball in game 1
neither was dirty
That’s my point, Dort has a bad track record but this was just unlucky
Yeah it was just unfortunate. Fox was playing through something and it just flared up
Agreed. That was a clean play.
If he had dived directly into the leg in some passable attempt at the ball then I could understand, but he barely touches fox after the motion has already happened. Fox has been limping slightly for multiple plays now, that ankle was being held on by duct tape at best if that level contact injured him
Yeah, if the ankle couldn’t handle that contact, it was already in bad shape.
It was just bad timing, bad angles and bad gravity. There’s no way in hell Dort would’ve planned that
Dort is obviously going for the ball here but since it’s Dort, this thread will go crazy. Fox was already favoring his ankle after the previous play, they should’ve taken him out of the game at that point.
Yeah I don’t get why they left him in when he was already favoring it beforehand
Rushed him back cause they needed him bad to alleviate the pressure on castle ig
wemby literally did the exact same thing to shai last game, if not worse, yet i saw 0 outrage
It was definitely worse and the Mods removed it like 3 times. But they’ll leave this up I’m sure…
People universally defended Wemby lol
There was drummed up outrage from OKC fans just like how there’s drummed up outrage for this obe
Except the mods deleted the Wemby knee dive multiple times but leave this up
Tbf I think that’s because they were all titled something like Wemby dives at SGA’s knees, which isn’t exactly a neutral title. This one is titled fairly, but leaving it up to intepretation.
I don’t usually agree with mods but I think it’s fair to remove the Wemby ones and leave this one based on the titles.
Yeah Dort didn’t even dive into him, he went for the ball and his thigh hit Fox
He probably should’ve just rested this game.
He was clearly not 100% from the jump
Clearly diving for a loose ball and nothing more
he’s playing with an ankle brace too I think
Lol how is that dorts fault?
It’s not this sub has psychosis
Lebron fans sent death threats to Solomon Hill for diving for a loose ball
Because every piece of contact they show it in super slow mo Reggie feels the need to justify it and make a big deal about it
Name checks out
Where did anyone say it was dorts fault?
lmao the top 6 comment threads are all saying “i know everyone thinks Dort is dirty but it’s not his fault.” it’s the reverse jerk
Sort by controversial lol the people exist
Saw someone in the gamethread calling for a flagrant.
Damn, shut the game down. We gotta take this someone in the game thread seriously or else what will happen to the game we love?
Im so happy to see some rational people have returned to this sub
I think Wemby’s first half flopathon might’ve pushed away a lot of the normal OKC complainers
People don’t like him.
It’s just funny that it’s him
How people are on this sub in less than 10 mins there will be a a angry mob
That was literally just the dumbest bit of luck
Plus Fox had just reaggravated it on a layup a few minutes before.
Reminds me of that simpsons meme.
LU DORT! Sorry, force of habit.
It ain’t, he just playing hard on this one but he does coincidentally get involved in a few of these
People gonna say this is dirty lmaoo
His reputation precedes him. So the scrutiny is well earned. But there was nothing dirty about it.
He immediately followed this play up by intentionally sticking his foot in front of a three point shooter landing area, bro saw his moment and took it
Im fine with this sentiment. Put him in a magnifying glass, but dont then act like there’s something there when there isnt
People gonna say people will say it’s dirty, that’s what I’m getting from these comments.
This play wasnt. But he literally whips his leg into Keldon on the 3 ball.
Im sorry but thats a hard hustle basketball play
Incredible that Dort is always on the scene even when is unintentional lmao
That’s what happens when you’re playing hard at all times
yall hated Draymond for that
when Draymond wasn’t playing hard he was relentlessly abusing Steven Adams’ testicles
Draymond put someone in a fucking headlock. lol
Actually he isn’t. If you’re watching the games Dort has been almost invisible this series (and for most of the playoffs) both for the good and the bad.
At the defensive end he’s just there doing his job keeping with the rotation but it’s been a while since the last time he was involved in something mildly controversial. The narrative here gets crazy sometimes
Wemby did the same thing last game and no one said shit
Nah that was worse. He dived straight at Shais legs. This ones just ended worse because Fox was already injured
Not only at Shai’s legs, but in the middle of 4 other players (2 of which were his own) I didn’t see it as malicious but it was incredibly careless and he should know better.
Fuck. Can’t even hate on Dort for this play tho
There’s no actual way people think this is intentional right he just dove for the ball
They’re in serious trouble… hopefully they can turn it around
Ticky tack foul game. Twitter and Reddit get their wish.
Yea… I’m bracing myself for the blame the refs mob
Bro if a normal tap of someone’s leg does that to your ankle, that shit was held together with tape and dreams.
Probably blame the coaching staff for pushing Fox back, when he’s not 100%.
To the top.
This thread is made up of 45% people complaining about the people saying this was dirty, 45% people complaining assuming people will call this dirty. 5% saying it was fine and 5% saying fuck Lu Dort.
It’s the dumbest shit ever. Call them out and they’ll find one comment that fits their narrative.
Kids, I guess?
Lol everyone mad at Dort but was defending Wemby when he did it last game to SGA which looked worsed. Both Wemby and Dort went for the ball
To be fair dort get to the ball first
Watch them somehow spin this as dirty
Fuck Lu Dort, but this isn’t the normal bullshit he does. Seems like a normal loose ball playoff shit.
Unlucky
Every top comments is “That’s a fair play, but everyone is gonna blame Dort” and then have 15 replies agreeing that it’s not Dort’s fault. Guys, who are these people who think this was dirty? Are they in the thread? Cos I really can’t see them, all I see are 1000 people agreeing it was a fine play.
i think this thread proves that most NBA fans are pretty rational when it comes to plays being “dirty”. and that we aren’t all blindly hating OKC.
a well renowned dirty player makes a play that results in a player coming back from injury getting hurt. yet the reaction is still mostly “despite the reputation, this wasn’t dirty”.
yet when a thunder player does something bad, you never see any thunder flairs anywhere.
Not always dirty but always Lu Dirt injuring players
This was Dort, but it wasn’t Dorty.
Glad to see him back in
Normal play.
I’m not a fan of dort but that’s not dirty in the slightest
i agree its fuck dort, but he really didnt do a whole lot wrong there. down to still blame him though
Committed to the hate
Not even a dirty play by Dort. Hard hustle from both guys on the 50⁄50
some of yall gotta get off the internet for a while
Oh boy, this thread is going to be civilized
There’s a certain hilarity to Dort being involved, but for once this was just one of those things that happens on a basketball court.
Huge loss for the Spurs they need this man
Looked painful as hell, dude’s been clearly gutting it out all game
Its sad that i called when Wemby dived that there would be the opposite reaction if Dort did it. And lo and behold, people are blaming Dort for a genuine dive for a loose ball
they made him limp 85 feet ☠️
Totally a coincidence
Rate referees for this game, is it fair?

I don’t like it when a team plays on in situations like this. Call a damn timeout instead of playing on a clear 4 on 5 with an injured player. They also took forever to call a timeout during the Wemby concussion as well.
LU DORT!!
He has been hobbling second the second quarter
Don’t just fell on his ankle bruh? Wasn’t dirty at all and I have no issues with calling out OKCs dirty behavior
lol icl Lu Dort be in the wrong place at the wrong time😂now people gonna act like he did that on purpose.
When ur name gets brought up and everyone is guessing it’s a dirty play. Don’t live like a Dort
Reactions to this play is a very clear tell on who is and isn’t biased
There is no foul
Bummer. A healthy 4th Quarter Fox would be nice right now
[deleted]
I see a few.
There has been a few on here and the game chat also
At least he did not throw a flagrant elbow at him.
I don’t feel bad for the millionaire who scammed his fans out of over a mil a few years ago
Dort actually not involved this time(well not intentionally)
Of course
No dirty play just another baseless hate post. Again, and again. Its honestly exhausting you guy whining about the Thunder constantly. I honestly thought this would actually be discussions. Yall some little girls honestly.
Noooooo.
Unfortunate play, hope he’s alright. Hate to not get a full series of both teams at 100%
Obviously Dort didn’t intentionally injure him but how many NBA players have been injured from players diving into knees and ankles while technically going for the ball? Fox’s current injury is one of them.
Dort not being an intentional ass shouldn’t be the focus of this. Sucks foxis keeping the Spurs from being at full force. Wemby has to go into crazy mode
Hate Dort but not dirty. I was surprised Fox even played today.
I think I just have pure hate in my heart for Dort because I still wanna blame him even though Ik it’s not his fault
Spurs need Adrianne Korn man
Who else but dort. i don’t think this was dirty, but it’s amazing how it’s almost ALWAYS him. Before i even read the whole title i thought, i bet it was a collision with dort
People saying he was just going for the ball, really says something that people have to defend dort at all for going after the ball
Wild that he still went back in. But doesn’t look like he will be in the next game with the way he was grimacing
Seemed foolish to put a hurt Fox back in. Hope he recovers quickly. Great player.
another one bites the dort….
This guy is always hurt when it matters.
Looks like Fox found his excuse when the Spurs waste a championship contending season
Ah. Once again. Dort wildly dives at someone’s legs for a loose ball
Damn Dort pulled a Wemby
It’s just unfortunate that Dort somehow always end up in these plays that injure another player despite the fact that Dort isn’t dirty.
Yeah theres nothing here, unfortunate for Fox
I mean he’s no Bruce Bowen
Is it weird to see Dort expanding his range as much as possible, to dive for the ball but as well dive to into Fox?
Everyone thought is was gonna be Wemby Dort takes down. Fox unsuspecting. Rough way to exit
Of course Dort is involved. Smh
Dirty play
