I don’t think it’s fair to label Cleveland as a ‘meh’ team, despite how the Eastern Conference finals are currently going. I mean, they’ve arguably had the toughest path to get this far out of any of the 4 remaining teams, and were a 52 win team this season. I also feel like it’s being a little harsh to Philly and Atlanta as well, given that the former beat a 56 win Celtics team that was widely regarded as the favorites to come out of the East heading into the playoffs, and the latter is the only team to actually beat the Knicks in a game so far these playoffs, and they’ve done it twice. If anything, OKC and San Antonio having to play each other is a detriment, as they’ll be wearing each other down before they even have to face the Knicks in the finals.

I think the Cavs are really mediocre and them beating Toronto and Detroit isn’t that impressive, they are in the ECF because someone has to be from that side of the bracket and they just so happened to squeak by. For instance, I think Cleveland gets first rounded by a team like Denver.

Philly beating the Celtics is mad impressive, but they also fell apart getting that win. Joel Embiid was injured in game 7 and was badly hobbled all of the NY series. Philly without Embiid is not that good either. The Philly team that beat the Celtics did not play the Knicks, even though I do think the Knicks would have won anyway.

The Knicks have been absurdly good, but they haven’t really played anyone that special similar to OKC until now, I think the Spurs have had a way tougher run to the WCF for instance.

Knicks scared me in regular season, and I get they’ve not always consistently brought their a game, but seeing it lately scares me even more. They got much better bigs than OKC, and a guard who can be just as dominant a scorer under pressure as SGA. Assuming they go through we should be in for a very epic and competitive finals.

damn its rough seeing us on this list as one of the teams to not win it all. that 21 run was something special for me man, i was devastated when we couldn’t follow through, but still optimistic for future seasons. unfortunately that optimism was misplaced.

You’re thinking too much into it. Streaks are not correlated to the probability of winning a championship. You can win a championship without ever hitting more than 2 game winning streak.

A 9 game streak means that team is guaranteed to at least be in the conference finals so as a baseline you’d expect them to win it all at least a quarter of the time.

The first round used to be Best of 3/Best of 5 and if you go back far enough the 1 seed got a bye in the first round. So a 9-0 run is even more dominant the further back you go.
