I mean ghost defender strats on a guy that shot 41% from 3 during the regular season is pretty rough.

Roughest part is it probably is legitimately the best strategy when the Knicks offense is humming. The alternative is just give Brunson a ton of space to carve inside with limited help which is even worse if you’re the defending team.

He’s a 35% career shooter and is close to 30% in this seasons playoffs, it’s a solid strat that worked even in game 1. They shouldn’t panic and see if he continues making shots in the next game, adjust if he does.

They should definitely panic if the guy they are leaving wide open from 3 as their main card to play defensively is going ⁵⁄₁₁ after spending an entire season shooting above 40%. That is panic worthy. They just lost a conference finals game because of it.

Like I said though, it probably is the best thing to do when the Knicks are in good rhythm offensively because a lot of the alternatives are even worse unless you have a Dyson Daniels to stop Brunson 1 on 1.

Good on Brown for not panicking and pulling him out immediately for Shamet or Deuce. I love those guys, but Josh brings so much to the table besides making buckets, so you don’t want to see him marginalized.

The Cavs were targeting Hart and everyone knew it, so I’m glad Hart showed them the Knicks really do have 5 credible shooters who need to be defended in their starting lineup.

Ngl I didn’t have the patience to see Hart shoot cold while Jarret Allen goes frolicking around on defense and fucking up our spacing as the Cavs keep hanging around.

I can feel like a stupid dum dum head now, but didn’t take away what was happening earlier.

Hart just happened to answer that challenge and turned around later in the game we needed it the most. He’s a mf dawg.
