Reporter: “Are we already at a Game 5 level of attrition?” Mark Daigneault: No, we’re at game 2 and game 3 is coming up next, and, game 5 will be after game 4 and because the teams split, there will be a game 5.”
Thanks Magic
God if I was a coach, I would just answer all questions in Magic Johnson tweets
Magic would mean this sincerely, he’s just calling this guy an idiot.
honestly i love when coaches give cunty answers like this
But did Hartenstein have a good game?
He did his job.
I’ve just shy of 11 years of MMA experience, I would’ve done a way better job.
You’re leaving money on the table bro.
But are you 7 foot 300 lbs?
He definitely did. He was everywhere on the rebounds.
It’s easy when you rip dudes down by their dreads.
Or when you hold them and hit them like Wemby and Castle did all game? Or am I supposed to ignore those like all the ignorant nephews in here? I need to know how to follow the narrative
Tough defense goes both ways. If you think your boy Wemby is too soft and delicate though feel free to say so
No you got it all wrong, IHart is the only guy to ever lock arms on rebounds
In his defense, he just wanted to hold hands.
Castle hit so many dudes ramdomly for no reason at all times. And Wemby set so many dirty screens on the first quarter too, he should have had like 4 or 5 fouls just for that. In lots of them he was not only moving but pushing and also extending the legs to trip the rivals. I remember doing that once when I was in highschool and the ref didn’t see it. But the guy who ran the basketball program on my school was watching the game and saw it, so he went into the locker room at halftime to scream at me for being a dirty piece of shit.
Exactly. This sub is just as bad as the refs for only focusing on the tough defense that OKC gets away with and not the same stuff San Antonio is doing. OKC flops more but the Spurs and definitely Wemby are not innocent with their defense.
It’s really telling that you can’t grasp the simple reality of OKC coming in the first two quarters with the dirtiest physicality thus seen in the playoffs and then you point to the physical response by the Spurs after the half, after the advantage was already generated, as justification to say “Look, they’re both doing it!”
And yes, as the Spurs slowly realized the garbage that was being allowed, they responded a bit in the first half, but not nearly as much as OKC had already done.
This is truly pathetic behavior by everyone in these posts gaslighting and projecting by calling everyone whiners and crybabies.
In my opinion, I genuinely think that this is just kind of playoff basketball. Centers are always grabbing at each others arms all the time, especially in the playoffs. Yeah, OKC sells the contact which yeah, not that fun to watch. But holy shit it’s so exaggerated, like every time OKC did anything that didn’t get called, it was posted on this subreddit within a millisecond with 500 upvotes. If you didn’t watch the game and just browsed this sub you would think the Thunder committed genocide, it’s actually hilarious to me at this point the rage from people at OKC. I think people just really like Wemby and don’t like OKC and it’s causing some bias, it really doesn’t seem different from other playoffs.
Come on, man. You have to either be new to basketball, biased towards OKC, or be wildly distracted during the game to not recognize the difference between what OKC is doing and what most other teams do. The only people I ever see deny that fact are reddit commenters that clearly don’t know the difference between dirty play, physical play, foul baiting, and flopping.
Where the bullshit lies is the claim that OKC is only good because they’re dirty. They’re an excellent team either way, but they absolutely weaponize dirty play to edge out opponents on the margins as a matter of culture.
I mean yeah they sell contact which isn’t fun to watch, but I just think the OKC hate is so overblown, now particularly because they’re playing Wemby. It’s gonna be a circlejerk here for the next few weeks. Any tiny ticky tack thing that OKC does now is being put under a microscope by the NBA reddit detectives lol.
Also I think it’s fine if I have a different opinion on this. Like sorry I guess for not just going with the hivemind and falling in line.
…Case in point, a reddit commenter that doesn’t know the difference between dirty play and flopping. We’re talking about dirty physical play, why are you talking about selling contact? And why argue on the matter when you clearly don’t know ball?
My bad I kind of just skimmed my comment that I made 10 hours ago so yeah it wasn’t fresh on my mind what I said. You got me
I don’t know if I get your point though? Dirty play and flopping are vastly different things. I guess I just don’t find someone pulling on Wemby’s arms, which centers do all the time, comparable to Wemby elbowing someone. Is that not dirty too? The fact no one tallks about Wemby’s elbow tells me there’s a narrative that people want to follow. Like wow Chet stepped on Wemby’s foot ONE time at the free throw line. Sooo dirty
I guess I forgot one of the Thunder players elbowing a man in the esophagus last round… can’t believe silver didn’t suspend them
or body slamming a dude down to the ground!
Ok whiner and crybaby
Elite coaching IQ, casual fans won’t understand
Can’t talk numbers with non-number knowers.
Yeah I don’t think people are seeing the chess match he’s playing here
can someone double check these claims?
1…2…3…4…5
Sounds like something some idiot would have on their luggage!
That’s amazing! I’ve got the same combination on my luggage!
r/unexpectedspaceballs
Whaaaaat? Bro, what’re you talking about, man? I’m out man. That nissan’s trippin’.
Nissan?
Reporter drives an Altima.
Actually funny
Mark has Mazulla Jr. dry humor. They’re kinda cut from the same mental cloth (mildly insane)
Someone check the math on that
May need someone to triple check not to sure
I crunch the numbers and I think he’s right
Wait start over. What game are we at?
Like game 1300 this season across the whole league.
Probably game 100k all-time or some shit
Someone needs to have him and Mazzulla do an interview together. Doesn’t need to be about basketball. I’m here for it.
We won’t get this until A.I. takes over.
corny but funny
I fucking love Mark Daigneault.
Ask stupid questions…
Is it that stupid though? Its been a very physical series and one game went to double OT where players were putting up career high minutes for a game.
Excellent analysis.
0-0 mentality
Lmaoooo
everyone wants to be joe mazzulla
holy shit quick maths
Thanks, Mark!
quick maffs
ONE PLUS ONE IS TWO QUICK MAFFS
Unhinged answer
Steiner math
I hate this smug ass reply. It was a good question imo.
Every time I see him I think of the Karate Kid lol
I mean the math checks out.
corny marky
Ok if he’s captain obvious they should ask him about the fouls and the flopping. Maybe he can’t lie.
I can see it now. Knicks win the chip and instead of giving credit where it’s due and admitting that we’re just the best team in basketball it’s gonna be the 76ers excuse all over again
“Oh they gave it their all in the WCF. They don’t have anything left in the tank after that conference finals. The Knicks just beat them when they were tired and worn out.”
Fanfics already because you barely won a game in that series
I mean, during a timeout, he approached the referee complaining instead of talking to his players. What an ethical basketball right there
You just watch a lot of basketball
This guy coaches dirty plays
Please he has a family
That viral Chet foot stomping on Wemby was definitely coached. Chet doesn’t have the brain cells to think of that himself.
Your not far off on “Chet”. He Definitely coached Hartenstein to shoulder socket Wemby tho.
