The difference between winning this game or losing it for the Spurs is MASSIVE. Taking both road games to go up 2-0 puts you in probably 85% chance to win the series. Splitting on the road 1-1 would see the Thunder as favorites to win the series.

Yeah but weird things can happen like AG coming back from that hamstring last year way ahead of schedule, but his rushing back might be why he got injured again this season.

In addition to not wanting to rush a hurt player back, if Fox re-injures himself, that damages his trade value. And let’s face it, there isn’t enough money to pay all 3 of their star guards, and so Fox and his big contract is the odd man out.

Edit to add: Yes, I know trade value is a secondary consideration. But Spurs can win without him, so there is no real upside to rushing him back. Only downside. That’s my point.

Badly. People who think we’d be worse with him playing are insane. Harper’s great and we really do need to find him 30 minutes or so the rest of the series. But with Fox, we have the ability to always have two high-level ball handlers on the court at any time that we simply can’t do with him out. Castle initiating every play was really costing us at times as a thunderware loading up on him and his decision making still needs a lot of room for improvement

It wasn’t bad at all. Of course they missed some stuff both ways but overall I think everyone really agrees it was pretty well officiated and really consistent. They let physical play go on both ends which was nice. Of course each team got away with some stuff that probably should have been called still but it wasn’t one sided and it wasn’t anything too crazy (Caruso out of bounds on the out of bounds in it was probably the worst miss they had imo).

I don’t think it was dirty, and think Ayo was playing with the kind of energy a lot of his teammates were missing, but it was the kind of careless play that we wouldn’t be giving him that benefit of the doubt for if he was Embiid or Draymond.

For sure, definitely more common in the NFL but just from playing fantasy the dreaded high ankle sprain can ruin a season.

Even if you can come back more quickly it re-aggravates easily and you don’t seem to regain your true form for a while.

i’ve severely grade 2 and 3 each ankle and once the same way he did and I literally couldn’t walk for a month the first time, there was no control there because of the nerves getting blocked off. i don’t understand how he’s walking and “close to playing” if he did that’s what makes me think its a fracture somewhere further up.

Absolutely. Bones heal, and can actually become stronger than they were before the injury. Sprains deal with damage to connective tissue (tendons, ligaments) and the healing process is longer and generally incomplete. Source: had a high ankle sprain in 2019. It was terrible.

There’s way more playoff level intensity games compared to the NFL. Fox can’t just become a decoy on offense with this injury that he played 2ish games on already so far while also trying to defend OKC.
