If the finals is Spurs vs Knicks then Jeremy Sochan will get a ring
Just a little fun trivia if the outcome is spurs vs Knicks. He’s had no impact at all this season for either team but at least he’ll have a ring to show for it lol
Reminds me of Anderson Varajeo. He leaves the cavs during the 2016 season, joins the warriors, loses in the finals, apparently gets offered a ring by Cleveland but declines. Re-signs with the warriors, gets waived mid season, gets offered a ring again and this time he accepts it
Wow I thought he actually lost every finals from 2015-17
Who does he think he is, Marian Hossa?
Hossa has 3 rings and actually contributed to all 3
I’m well aware, trust me.
I was alluding to how he made the Finals in 08 on Pittsburgh and lost to Detroit. Then the next year made the Finals on Detroit and lost to Pittsburgh.
I think you mean Corey Perry
I miss that man so much
We call that a reverse McCaw
Crazy to decline ima be honest
I imagine it’s different based on what order you were on each team. Started on a team and then traded to the team that lost? Might feel like a kick in the dick to wear a ring with your first team’s logo on it that they got from beating your ass. Ended up on a team that beat your original team in the Finals? Ring me ring now.
Probably also why the second time he was offered he took it, because the Warriors didn’t beat him to get that ring.

He wasn’t on the team in that second scenario; he had been waived.
Why? He didn’t actually win it, did he?
still good for a joke once in a while and for pawning off if needed
Generational “dynasty starts after you” talent
Displacing Giddey
Atleast Giddey is a solid player and we won 57 games with him starting. Sochan wasn’t even in the rotation for the Spurs
It was so obvious, but not long ago, criticizing Sochan was worse than blasphemy for a lot of spurs fans. Specially on twitter, they were so blind about him…it was so crazy
It was never obvious lol. He was good until he wasn’t. He fell off a cliff out of nowhere after seemingly making pretty big strides offensively in multiple aspects. Fans had every right to assume he’d eventually return to form, he just never did. Revisionist history.
The injuries impacted him for sure. But I’d contend that he mostly just looked better on a bad team. The team improved rapidly and he couldn’t keep up. It’s just hard for a contending team to give a guy minutes when they are so limited offensively.
Non centers who can’t shoot or dribble almost never can be real contributors on a title team. Sochan could put up numbers on a tanking team but as soon as the Spurs tried to win he couldn’t perform
I never liked him and always thought he didnt fit, so definitely not revisionism in my case. Maybe objectively it wasnt that obvious that long ago. But for sure there was a point when it was already clear and fans still were blindly assuming he would magically learn how to shoot or something
Carter Bryant is on track to be the player that the Spurs wanted Sochan to develop into.
He’s already better or at least on the same level that Sochan ever was. I know the stats don’t show that but from just watching him play, his second half leap has been great.
If Sochan can shoot, he’d actually be covering our weakness in PF lol.
6’8” is still a bit undersized, but better than our other 6’6” options…
6 8 isnt undersized lol
It’s a bit of a tweener
LeBron is 6’9, Randle 6’9, Giannis 6’11, Dirk 7’0 etc.
Usually small forward is 6’7-6’9 with exceptions like KD
Funny because they literally drafted Bryant with Kawhi in mind. Almost the exact same measurements
Some Don Mattingly shit.
Technically teams decide who to give rings to and they don’t have to give it to a guy like Sochan that wasn’t even on the playoff roster
Technically yeah, but no way they would stiff their own draft pick who spent 3 1⁄2 years with the team.
3.5 years isn’t that long of a time lol. And it’s not like he was some unfortunate contract matching trade casualty. He even requested to be traded/bought out
Everyone on the team and the fans like him. He gets one if he wants it
The Raptors had Jonas on their team for 7 seasons and didn’t offer him a ring.
But atleast they gave one to… a rich super fan????
Especially because he was traded for a key piece, gasol. we really did JV dirty
Spurs fans have a soft spot for Jeremy. I hope he gets one of spurs win
We’d definitely give him one if he wants it
But he will alwyas be our Polish Prince.
I wished he was still on the team against Minnesota. He would have loved just trolling them.
Jeremy has 23 minutes played in the playoffs. He’s getting a ring from the Knicks.
He’s talking about getting one from the Spurs
Technically the Knicks don’t have to give anyone rings if they win. Although as much as you could say about Dolan, he ain’t cheap.
This isn’t true. It’s up to the Championship team’s ownership on if a player like Sochan gets a ring. If the owner wanted, he could say “I’m saving money and I am not purchasing rings this year for anyone” (Blazers owner probably). For accolade purposes, even if Sochan is given a ring by San Antonio, he isn’t considered a champion.
i have a personal bias towards a particular result
I’m legally obligated to agree with this commentator’s particular result.
Spurs will most likely give him one if they win, but it’s not guaranteed. Bones Hyland didn’t get one from Denver.
Bones left Nuggets with bad blood unlike Sochan
Goat shit
What if the teams draw? Does each team decide to grab an arm and pull him apart like a wishbone?
Not guaranteed
My dear Polish shit head son
Again… traded players on losing teams get a ring under the discretion of the winning team… It’s not Sochan’s decision. Examples, Anderson Varejao in 2016, Jonas Valanciunas in 2019
Spurs would 100% gave him one. It was kind of an heartbreak to have him go and he had been a Spurs for 4 years of tanking that led to this team
If this is not the best reason for us to beat OKC I don’t know what is.
Pop somehow knew.
Sleeper agent Sochan
No impact?! He’s been a wonder for this team in terms of vibes. 😎
How could I forget! I also like how big of an instigator he is lol
Finally? Hasn’t he only been in the league a few years? Lol
good
A ring wont matter on judgment day
Perhaps? Bones hyland did not get a ring
Left on much different terms than sochan
This happens every year. Didn’t need to be a post
Getting a ring is a different thing than “being an NBA Champion”. Who cares if he gets a ring. Equipment managers get rings.
If they gave me a ring and all I did was clean toilets. I’m flexing that ring til the day I die.
That’s a champion shit ring
And it means a lot to them when they do.
