This is something I’m fascinated with. As someone who is not from the US, but pays some attention to the politics, I would identify as center-left in the context of American politics. Reddit is generally along the same line.

He grew up in Apartheid South Africa, and he knows what the country is heading into. He’s always been vocal about his support for Palestine. While we’re both using anecdotal evidence, I would turn to the countless videos on social media of women who are meeting men that are shorter than they are listing or men who get their height measured in person (there’s a guy in the gym community who brings a tape measure around measuring famous ppl in the lifting community, and all the men overinflate heavily and some outright refuse to get measured) I don’t blame the shorter people for boosting their height, their hand kind of got forced.
