The Curry-Lebron rematch had so much going for it though, beyond just the players. The Warriors had just put together greatest regular season all time, Lebron was going to his sixth straight final, Lebron had taken them to 6 the year before with an extremely injured team, etc. Obviously it ended up more than delivering, but there was narrative to it beyond just the players.

But this is a pretty insane matchup too. It’s the two top teams by record in the NBA, the reigning MVP (and almost certainly current MVP) vs the first ever unanimous DPoY, and a reigning champ on the verge of a dynasty facing up against a team that’s both a young upstart and a former dynasty themselves. This is with getting into all the other great players, the smaller storylines, the matchup and strategy games, etc.
