According to the players Scott Foster is about as good or a tier better than every female ref they’ve ever met lmao

We see calls, players feel vibes. The top refs here likely are able to have good dialogue and back and forths with players, which probably matters more to them since they’re the ones playing. We don’t experience that so we care about calls.

This is a good way to do this, but we also need a better metric to judge referees than just player opinions on a non-specific scale.

Also, only Tier 1 referees should be eligible to work the Conference Finals and NBA Finals. I understand having a bigger pool of them for the first couple rounds. There are more games across the country and it’s not reasonable to ask a smaller pool of refs to officiate games on consecutive days in different parts of the country. But later when there are only games at four sites or less and a day or two between games, that should be only two crews working them

My neighbor is an nba ref and I’m a doctor, I think our jobs are equally stressful.

I feel like they collectively decided the only thing worse than Tony Brothers would be a pissed off Tony Brothers so they all ranked him high. It’s the only way it makes sense to me.

Scott Foster is in tier 2? I guess it makes sense that teams fitting the leagues desired narrative would like him. 

This is a good concept but it shouldn’t be based on player voting, or at least only partially in that. The league should transparently rate its refs after every game and use that ranking to assign playoff refs.

Introducing personal ratings just adds bias. We now have metrics for challenged plays, why are we not using these to inform our decisions on what refs are actually making correct calls?
