NBA on Instagram: Remembering Brandon Clarke (1996-2026)
So sad man … he was so young
Still can’t believe it… so random and so tragic
A reminder for all of us to check on our people
Brandon “Pogo Stick” Clarke 💔
Forever a Grizzly.
The big question is will the Grizzlies retire his number?
RIP Mr. Clarke.
This is a good reminder that player injuries are real, and they take a physical and mental toll on a real person. I didn’t know Brandon, but I can’t imagine going through 3 years of disappointment, pain, and rehab over and over.
Gone too soon, and love to the Clarke family and friends in this time.
Tragic loss :(
Watched BC at SJSU. He was one helluva player. RIP
RIP Brandon Clarke. Gone too soon.
Represented Team Canada well too when he had fewer injuries. RIP
Still can’t believe it wtf only started watching basketball 2 years ago with the griz, only got to see bc a few dozen times ahen he wasn’t injured and he was always crazy good man this doesn’t feel real still wtf
He was the ultimate change of pace/glue guy for us before all the injuries started piling up. He was never the same after the Achilles tear and then I think all the rest of his body started catching up. It’s so sad. One of the great athletes and bunkers I’ve ever seen and those leg injuries just took it all away. He started his first game back this past year and looked really great, not the same level athletically but he knew how to play and it helped us a lot. Then he started the next game and got hurt in the first quarter with a calf injury and that was it. He was never able to come back. I can’t imagine what that does to you mentally. He only got to play in 6 total games in 2023-2024 season too because of injuries.
RIP BC15. I hope we retire his jersey and hang it in the rafters and have a patch for him on everyone else’s jersey this season.
Literally won y’all the series against us a few years back. This dude made us go get Gobert. Such a shame injuries limited his potential from being realized and then this. :(
100%. You guys made the Steven Adams and Jaren pairing in that series not work very well so they switched to mainly BC over Adams and that’s when it turned.
Well said man every game I got to see him play he was a fucking dawg this sucks so bad
You don’t retire someone’s number because they OD’d
Fuck off. You don’t know anything about him or what he meant to this team and organization. He was here for 7 years and never played for anyone else.
He raised the play of everyone around him. He was also by all accounts a genuinely good dude. RIP
So now you’re a thunder fan?
I’m both, I’m born raised and live here just never got into sports until 2024 when I started by watching my homies team and falling in love with em, and then watching my local team and falling in love em
Sidenote but really regret not getting into sports earlier in life tbh now I like the same mlb team(cards) my grandpa loved and tried so hard to get me into when I was little, now he’s gone it feels kinda bittersweet
Cryin in the club
Man it still doesn’t feel real, I don’t even know him, but he did so much to the community. On his recent birthday he donated money to a local Memphis school. Condolences to his family and friends, teammates (current and former) I know Jaren just posted and is understandably devastated.
reminds of Montrez but more efficient. RIP brother
I’m so numb right now.. 😔
Damn man, he was only like a month older than me… Shit hits hard. Rest in peace. Hug your loved ones while you can
Got to see him when the Grizz played the Spurs a few years back, crazy
Shoutout Canada 🥀
Pain. I am gonna be real sad hearing our announcers say that during our first game next year. I know it is coming.
His energy was crazy
So sad
Rip Clarke. Wish the family all the best aswell.
