Tbf if they remove rudy and only play small ball, they’ll get obliterated at the rim while not doing much better offensively. He’s the only reason wemby doesn’t take over. In the last 2 games (minus the expulsion) you can see mitch johnson tried to play wemby as much as possible when rudy is on the bench.

Rudy has been destroying Kornet this series, it’s the reason the Wolves go on runs whenever Wemby rests. Finch puts Rudy back in the game when Wemby sits, he shuts down the Wolves paint without Wemby and on the offensive end the Wolves feast in the Spurs paint and Rudy also finds it easier to get offensive rebounds without Wemby’s length.

Again, Wemby is a really bad match-up for Gobert unlike Jokic. He can’t follow the moves.

Why does anyone care what Reggie says at this point? He obviously isn’t familiar with the teams’ rosters, much less their best lineups. 

Everyone knows Rudy has some ugly moments on offense and anyone with a brain or access to Google should know he’s a huge positive for Minnesota when he’s on the court. In addition to Wemby, the Spurs have three guys who are borderline unguardable off the bounce, but none of them can shoot. Pulling one of the best post defenders of all time in a competitive series so Naz Reid can get some more (admittedly nice) pick and pop is nuts. OTOH, I am an idiot, so Finch will probably do it and force a game 7. 

After this season, none of these teams will have an answer for Wemby ever again.

As much as I want OKC to win, I acknowledge that in the regular season, the Spurs dominated them and should they meet in the playoffs I don’t expect anything different with or without Jalen Williams.

This is one series where him being a rim protector helps. Wemby can still take him away from the basket but their best chance is still with him. At the end of the day, the Spurs are just the better team, matchup-wise.

I don’t understand how you can be in the league for 13 years and still have zero offensive game. Like we all know Rudy is a top defender, that’s a given. But you’ve been an NBA player for 13 years with some of the best training and coaches out there. You can’t develop some sort of short/mid range jumper? Or some version of the sky hook/dream shake or other big man move? You don’t need to be able to shoot 3s or anything, but seems like you’d be able to at least develop some kind of post presence after all this time. And I know it’s not just him too, it’s there with other big men too. But there are also tons of big men who can shoot too. Shooting can always be taught

Reggie Miller is starting to slip a bit as an announcer. More glazing, more repeating himself, and saying things just to be saying something. Sometimes a team is just outclassed and I feel coaches make better announcers when it comes to moments like that.

He’s clearly an amazing defender but there are very few other defensive greats that get exposed this frequently come the post season. There will never be a playoff run with this guy where he WONT be a liability against someone.
