[NY Post] All 21 times Joel Embiid fell to the ground in the 3 Knicks playoff games
Holy crap I thought at least half of them would be necessary, they’re almost all completely voluntary
Well his knees are taped and put together with scraps if he landed on his feet I think he’d die
That’s what you’d think, but the guy looks like a newborn deer when falling. No way that’s better for his legs. Also I stg he’s trying to injure other players by jumping on them it’s ridiculous
Embiid is an underrated catalyst of the “play weak and fall down to draw fouls” meta of current NBA.
Underrated?????
Embiid has gotten the most visceral hate for free throws of his era, alongside SGA.
The hatred for him has 100% toned down as he’s gone through his injury issues
As he should. Refs giving him a boosted guard whistle as one of the absolute biggest players in the league was an embarrassment to the integrity of the game. Bro flailed at every touch and refs ate that shit up every time. His free throw rate was the most disgusting shit in league history.
Watching blake griffin act like that was always hilarious
I used to play like Embiid. He is reckless on purpose. When I see Embiid play as he is now it reminds me of how I used to play and it is frustrating and pisses me off that the NBA allows it. Not proud of it, I was known as Shaq on my local streetball court and went through a phase when I charged hard at everything. Big hard turns to my blindside, didn’t care who was there. Charge right into the lane. Smash into the best offensive player on D while going for the ball, come what may. Limited offensive moves. So make no mistake about it. Embiid knows what he’s doing. He knows people will be injured. He knows his skillset is limited and this is how he can win. He knows people will give way when he drives, think twice on their drives, etc. He will only be stopped by a stronger player and/or fearless players like Giannis, Gasol, Draymond, etc. Or by an obviously more skilled player with equal Type A like Ibaka. He didn’t intend to injure, but he certainly intends to show you that he doesn’t care if you get hurt when he rumbles into you. At least that’s how I used to play. But that was streetball. Eventually I got more moves, played w better players, played real basketball w refs. There’s no doubt in my mind the NBA has some kind of edict coming down, telling the refs to let him run amok.
U can call embid a flopper n whose reckless n all that but saying his skillset is limited when his scored 70 plus in a game is asinine
You got pasta’d
Haha i did not notice 😂
Sometimes he lands on another player’s knee, RIP Danny Green.
I loved Danny Green man so sad about that. He might’ve had another few years. Would’ve loved to see 5 rings on 5 teams.
That’s why I’m glad we’re done with that series. KAT was about to get injured by Embiid constantly flopping and landing on him.
This is the league Silver wants, foul baiting and flailing.
10000%. You watch college or WNBA and this doesn’t happen as much. Embiid is one of the biggest foul baiters in NBA history, but it works. He won an MVP doing this.
We can -potentially Reduce injuries since players will be at the line/stoppage of pay -increase ads by having a more infomercials and quick ad between free throws
Most importantly Give people a chance to catch up on the game via highlights, since this is a highlight sport
It’s Embiid there’s no chance I thought many of these falls would be even remotely necessary
This is why the “he’s the only player in the league that has to do this for medical reasons, so there” defense doesn’t make sense, has never made sense, and will never make sense.
The sad part too is that it has a bit to do with his injuries as well. A chunky 7 footer isn’t supposed to be hitting the deck like that that often. Bro literally flipped his way into a “what if” career.
Embiid fell down watching this video.
The first highlight is Joel in a nutshell
Embiid must have at least 5-7 inches and 60 pounds on OG and he falls down like a stack of bricks. So pathetic
Bricks are actually pretty sturdy compared to Joel Embiid
It’s incredible how he is already planning to fall while grabbing a rebound.
The worst thing is how dangerous he is to other players. Close to 300lbs randomly falling into players’ legs is an injury waiting to happen.
Isn’t that how he ended Danny Green’s career?
Joel Embiid just fell to his knees in a walmart
He will be reevaluated in 6-8 weeks
That’s the rule. That’s the goal now.
What are we doing? What’s going on?
HUH-hahhahah
I’m supposed to be attracted to this???
We don’t try to score the ball anymore. We throw ourselves on the ground like an unruly toddler.
When did THIS become sex??
This is not basketball, I don’t know what this is
Players fall down all the time touched or untouched in futbol. Yet they call it the Beautiful Game. We’ll all be able to see it in its finest stage next month at the World Cup. Joel will probably be watching too
I’m swear the NBA calls fouls purely so their stars don’t look like morons, which is why it’s so funny when they don’t get the calls in FIBA.
That is exactly the reason.
It’s always amusing/frustrating seeing Team USA try to do their usual NBA shenanigans and they always end up looking like morons for 2-3 games before they realize FIBA refs ain’t going to call that crap.
Nope, it’s exactly the other way around. It is called flopping.
I really hate this FIBA take, its just not true. Damn near every star has the same or better ftrate in FIBA.
19 is so fucking crazy looks like he is trying to hurt him self
That one had to hurt a little, he flailed his legs out from under him.
It’s crazy because he lands with most of his weight on his hip, like genuinely the foul call could not have been worth the pain there
Also the injury risk he’s 280* failing hard onto his hip bone
his hip and ass must be sore in morning every game. No wonder he can’t play much.
this guy is a real pos on teh court. I couldn’t watch 5 minutes of that and glad I didn’t watch that series.
Poor Kat and Mitch that game.
For real. If you’re going to flop at least learn to fall so you don’t hurt yourself. Especially if you’re already made of glass and need special care as is.
Guess we are going to get another players tribune article in the offseason and everyone will get amnesia again about his antics
Embiid had more falls (21) than made field goals (18) in the entire series
Jole, your fall/fg ratio, woof.
He is fucking unbearable.
Damn, a Sixers fan saying this?
That’s how you know its true 😂
I have wanted to get rid of this bum since 2016. He is an undeniably amazing player who has so few winning basketball traits.
The worst amazing player of all time.
Shit you sounding like a Knicks fan, lmao.
^(No offense)
Offense taken. Fuck y’all.
since 2016
Before he even played? Lol, okay bud.
out here shaking ass for knicks and celtics fan upvotes
Corny but he did cook
I mean i don’t know how he wanted someone gone before they even played a game, he’s just saying bullshit.
Embiid has provided some of the only talented basketball in south philly since allen iverson, all while his body fails him and our front office jerks off, any sixers “fan” posting like this is a huge fucking dork
whoring yourself out for upvotes lmao
Go cheer for the Knicks you fuckin loser. We make 0 playoff series in the last 10 years without Joel. You know what other Sixer had very few winning basketball traits? AI… I bet you hate him too
Than cheer for another team? Go suck a dick Joel is literally one of the greatest Sixers of all time
Floperella
Flopadelphia
21 seems low
Well he missed a game lol
It’s the reason why he wears 21.
Directed by Hideo Kojima
Hahaha what a fucking jabroni.
17 is my favorite. It reminds me of the video of that old lady laying down to try to commit insurance fraud.
I got trained to hear a whistle each time, I was surprised not to hear it on #17. #19 Was my favorite, looked like a little kid jumping up and dramatically throw his self on the ground like he didn’t get his way.
so glad mitch got his revenge on this loser
The slight tug in transition making him do a full flailing 360 is hilarious
Draymond Green School of Natural Motions
On the floor bag
When I see Embiid play as he is now it reminds me of how I used to play and it is frustrating and pisses me off that the NBA allows it. Not proud of it, I was known as Shaq on my local streetball court and went through a phase when I charged hard at everything. Big hard turns to my blindside, didn’t care who was there. When you put them all together like this it really takes away the bad knees argument. Outside of the obvious flops most of these falls are caused by his launch rather than his landing. It’s like he’s taking off with the intention of falling down, not falling down after reacting to his body which is a big difference.
It’s anecdotal but I have a bad knee and the way it always comes up is in my landings. I’m a skater and it’s the coming down on the board that’s the hard part for me. Sometimes when I’m jumping down off a ledge or anything higher than a stair I get a bad feeling and kinda pre-fall in mid air but I never really jump off with the intention of falling the way he does in this video. Chronic pain is different for everybody and can make your body do things without you realizing but I don’t see how this is anything but intentional from Embiid.
Yeah, I mean that’s why skateboarders fall so much and learn how to fall safely but don’t get hurt majorly from it. Although Embiid could take some of the force with his legs and do a controlled fall instead of completely crashing to the ground with his hip or back.
In a YouTube video a while back by Any means basketball(now the video seems private) it explains why D-Rose had so many knee problems compared to a similar playstyle like Westbrook or even LeBron and the main points:
He didn’t land on his forefoot(landed on his heels). He didn’t try dissipate the force of landing at speeds by taking some extra steps.
He landed too much on one foot instead of two.
Finally, when in a compromised position, instead of bailing and falling he would try to land even if the position was very awkward.
Holy shit. That’s a lot of flopping. #3 is especially egregious. #17 is just hilarious. Maybe the dude is just really clumsy.
He is going to need a hip replacement soon!
What a loser, imagine having to pretend you enjoy watching this for ten years, probably why 76ers fans didn’t show up, hope we send him home every year til he retires
7, 8 & 13 is prime, mvp-form embiid.
Trying to hurt somebody while falling down.
Joel “Simone Biles” Embiid
that’s disrespectful to one of the greatest athletes in human history, Simone Biles
Maybe he wouldn’t be hurt so much if he wasn’t slamming himself into the floor a dozen times a game.
There’s absolutely no way it was only 21 times. This dude is falling down every other possession every time I see him.
7 is so annoying, he’s falling, whatever, but he purposefully drops his knees to fall into Robinson.
8 is the only one where he doesn’t flop when Robinson dunks on him
So KG was right.
It felt like twice that many . But #20 is the reason I want him out of the league ASAP. He’s an active danger to everyone around him, even when he isn’t trying to injure people on purpose. That fall plays out slightly differently and Mitch gets a career-altering injury, by the same guy who intentionally injured him in their last playoff series.
KG in shambles
Lmao. I just saw Embiid fall into a pool in Cancun
Number 13 is the most dramatic fall I’ve seen in a while. Dude spun around like he got shot and booped Mitchell in the back of the head lol
legitimately who is a fan of this
most frustrating player to watch because he could be unstoppable
Such a fucking douchebag. Fuck off to China
Emknees is a flopper and should retire
I’ve heard about him falling to preserve his knees, but most of these look like they put him at greater risk of injury, not to mention doing the same for anyone in his vicinity.
And also tried to break KATs leg on #7
Fucking 17 he literally just lays himself on the floor … Fucking clown
This is really the topic people should be talking about over free throws. Its the constant baiting and acceptance that looking so desperately for a foul is now “just part of the game” and not something to be embarrassed about. Just another thing we lost with our total loss of shame as a useful tool in society.
Saw a completely straight faced explanation that part of why AJ Dybantsa will succeed in the NBA is that he’s already so good at foul baiting.
It’s embarrassing.
Hardest flopper in the league.
Time for the clown to retire
Imagine how many less injuries he’d have if he just…..played basketball….
Wemby needs to take note. Gotta start flopping more if The refs are just going to allow them to pound on him all day long
You’ve never seen Wemby flop?
He does flop, but not enough
What’s enough like how often do you think Wemby flops per game?
A seasoned flopper like embiid would’ve thrown himself on the ground instead of throwing elbows.
Wouldn’t last 3 games playing in the 80s or 90s.
He goes down faster than a hooker when she sees a $100 bill.
One of the most physically dominant players resorting to this garbage is wild.
He is a disgrace to the game
It’s like watching a kid snowboarding and learning to stop
I used to play like embiid
I wonder if he’d be less exhausted if he didn’t spen his energy on this crap haha
inside every man is 2 wolves, except embiid, who instead has 2 baby deer trapped on a frozen lake
2026 Fallon D’Flor Award Winner
His bump card is almost full
Lot of flops at two dirty as fuck. #6 is crazy dirty
KNEES ARE COOKED
Flopiid
Only 21?
no wonder his bones are made of glass
Ashes to ashes, knees to dust
That’s why those knees of his are getting worst by the season
There are quarterbacks who don’t hit the ground that much all season
Wonder why he is always hurt?
This dude is a joke. I mean he better than me but still lol. How is he always hurt in the playoffs
I guess KAT is just the strongest player in the game
It’s like his legs turn to jello once it lift the ground.
after seeing this, I now understand why he’s always hurt
KG is right, part of embiid’s game involves the floor. clown player tbh
What’s the record?
Dude is gonna hurt himself real bad if he keeps that shit up.
Nah he gonna end up hurting someone else again. He ended Danny Green’s career falling into his legs.
Chris Boucher was asked a few years ago his least favourite team to play and his said the 76ers because Embiid is always falling in the paint so you have to be really careful he doesn’t injure you.
Embiid lost me totally with what he did to Mitch and the endless flailing, but isn’t it that big men are taught to let themselves fall instead of trying to stop their fall as a safety measure?
Learning how to fall is something that has been and still needs to be taught. This isnt falling though this flailing like one of al harringtons rejected tube men.
Thanks for your input, testiculardescendant
Averaging 7 falls a game is crazy work.
Can’t wait to deal with that again with OKC
Can someone add the Benny Hill music?
The bigger they are, the harder..
Joel Embiid Fallsalot.
#19.. He took his own legs out. lol
There was like maybe 5 times where it was actually warranted he fall lol
Weak. Prime Embiid would’ve doubled that EASILY
Honestly was expecting it to be a way bigger number
If you know, you know
On his back more than a hooker
A Wise Man once said: “It doesn’t matter how many times you fall, what matters is how many times you get back up..
So your opponent can SWEEP those dirty spots”.
21 times in 3 games?
That’s like a single half of basketball for Marcus Smart.
“Why do we fall, Master Joel?”
This place is run by drooling parrots lol
Landing upright puts all of the weight and momentum on his knees, falling this way alleviates that
Nasty floor bag
I’m not even a sixers fan but bruh is literally playing on 1 leg lol. Even if he is flopping.
Yeah hes (knees) is done.
My youngest walked relatively early and was always doing little squat motions before that. So many of these remind me of when he first started and would plop on to his diaper in the middle of the kitchen while we were making dinner.
So cute Embiid👶
Players that love the floor in this series:
Embiid Brunson Hart
FG/Fall average?
he went to the LeBron James school of flopping!
Embiid’s flopping has 100% shortened his career.
What a bitch
Oh Marmaduke, you so big.
This is Silver’s fault
Now do KAT.
insane doing all that w his injury history.
And that’s why he’s a champion!!!
✈️
Now do this with wemby please
Every one of his knee injuries are from him landing on his feet. Look at the Knicks series a few years ago where he hit that crazy dunk, lands on his feet, and tears his meniscus. He literally missed the first 2 years of his career with a foot injury because he can’t land right on his feet. And now his knees are duct taped together. But go off guys
And this is why he is the most undeserving MVP. Bitch made, i remember last year they could’ve beat the knicks in a game but he flopped a open layup. He will never reach the conference finals
The 76ers had a bunch of issues, but I’m convinced that the flopfest gave the Knicks a mental edge.
He’s always been a legendary flopper but it probably doesn’t help he’s held together with duct tape and glue these days. 2 years ago his flops were more tactical and got him to the line
So no one wants to talk about how this is the healthiest Embiids knees have been in a bout 8 years. Maybe the trained medical doctors were right about falling over…
Does he understand that he’s 7 ft tall and doesn’t need to fall over to sell calls? Who am I kidding, he doesn’t even understand he’s not a guard.
I bet a billion dollars wemby has fell more
That mvp he got over joker smdh
I’ve seen some say he does this intentionally to protect his knees, which might actually make sense.
Makes sense until you watch the video
Protect your knees to fall directly on your back from 4 feet in the air
I especially enjoy the one where he protects his knees by planting them on Karl Anthony Towns’ cushiony upper torso.
i wish i could be on KAT’s cushiony upper torso, so i understood that one
Watch OG Anunoby footage if you want to see that theory in action. It’s the same practice as parkour runners do, there is a landing on their feet and a quick redirection of inertia to another part of the body as you shift off your feet. This mf Embiid is not even landing on his feet in more than half of these clips
He’s still hurt all the time so not sure how well that’s working out
I counted 8 Knicks on the ground in those 21 clips lol
Well half the time he tackles someone or pummels like 300 lbs seemingly intentionally into them
You have what wemby did and you have this
Make a choice silver
Him diving near players legs should made illegal.
The sooner he’s out of the league the better, it’s one thing to flop it’s another to actively dive at people’s heads, chest, and knees in the process. Hazard to the league and I’ll be glad when he’s gone
Damn so jaylen brown was right all along
