JJ literally went ok games 1 & 2 we will double shai non stop and blitz him. Ok that didn’t work. Game 3 will hold off a little bit but keep doing it, ok that didn’t work. Game 4 let’s just play him 1 on 1 and see what happens, ok that didn’t work. Can’t blame JJ that’s for sure. He tried everything.

Sweep or not, this was one of the better games in the playoffs. Give the Lakers credit. They fought for their pride tonight. As the inferior team without their best player and their 2nd option struggling after coming back from an oblique injury, they fought hard to stay alive. They had their chances, but it didn’t work out tonight. Would having Luka helped them get one game? Maybe. But hamstring injuries are tricky injuries to come back from.

The Thunder are just a damn good championship team. SGA wasn’t his MVP self for most of the series, but he did more than enough to give the Lakers trouble. The rest of the team are just head and shoulders above the Lakers’ supporting cast. If SGA didn’t have it going, Mitchell, McCain, Holmgren, Caruso, Hartenstein, Wallace, Dort, etc., found ways to contribute. Hell, they’ve pulled off several runs against the Lakers while SGA was on the bench in this series.

the lakers got swept but if you play as hard as they did and fought you can be proud of yourself as a player. i know there are a lot of lebron haters laughing and all that but i can be okay with them losing that way.

as for luka im thinking they wouldnt have played as hard with him in either series.

The mods were almost as bad as Marcus Smart mid-way through the 4th.

People might focus on the last few possessions, but Smart was single-handedly involved in multiple successive plays in the 4th that killed their momentum and allowed OKC to take full control again. Just absurd turnovers and mediocre defense.

I know people will mention his and-1 to tie the game late, but that does not excuse two unforced turnovers (from some basic, unchallenged passes), a defensive foul, and an offensive foul on a screen (even if it was a weird call). All in the span of 3 minutes.

The Lakers wouldn’t have needed him to hit that to tie the game if he literally just played 10% more competently in the previous few minutes.

That was the best game of the playoffs so far wow. Felt like a heavyweight boxing match in that 4Q

At one point in 2nd half the officials had called 14 straight foul calls on OKC, LA was finally called @ 1:05 left in game.

Man okc depth is super scary. Is this the deepest team talent wise in the last 20 years?

The KD+ warriors were great but even they couldn’t overcome losing KD in the finals.

r/NBA mods are the biggest pussy losers out there

Hard fought G4, just not enough left in the tank to overcome that OKC depth. It’s so ridiculously hard to match up when so many fresh bodies are able to come in and provide productive backcourt minutes before they bring back in SGA for the kill-shot down the stretch. Such a great roster having like 4 guys off the bench that easily could play 28mpg for any other team in the league.

That was about as good a performance I could hope for from this team with Luka sidelined. I’m just happy that we were competitive tonight and through most of the series except whenever OKC would blow the game open with a run. Way better showing than the regular season.

Next steps are to figure out the roster with this new front office and maximize the next few years with Luka. The NBA shifts very quickly so we’ll see if we can now start making similar moves around the margins like Presti has done for OKC over the last decade. Drafting and scouting quality depth is more important than ever.

Meh, we lost to the defending champs and arguably the best team we’ve seen in a decade while missing our generational scorer. We didn’t get embarrassed and we played hard. I can live with it. Celtics blew a 3-1 to the 6th seed in the east with Embiid knees being on 1 HP. There are worse ways to lose. 😂 🤷🏾‍♂️

I want all the smoke next season when we have Luka and our boys back and healthy. We ain’t ducking OKC like Denver did lol
