Do they have the assets to make a push for someone?

Do people in this sub actually watch the games? Many of his turnovers are unforced and has nothing to do with usage. For example he had THREE turnovers just from bad inbound passing in tonight’s game. The 24 turnovers in 3 game stretch he had against Orlando, many of the turnovers were on fast breaks when it was 3 on 1 or 3 on 2 and are inexcusable no matter what his usage is

I agree 100% but Cade can town down some of the boneheaded plays.

Like 2 or so of his turnovers per game are just brain farts.

He’s a playmaker point guard though, right? They definitely need a guy who can get his own shot, but Cade is not playing out of position or doing something that he’s not supposed to be doing.

a LOT of people are cutting him way too much slack

it was one thing when it was just the 1st series vs NY last year

but it’s been consistent across 3 series now, as well as some major regular season games

Yea, on 3 straight possessions in the 4th he literally just threw the ball away. Two of which were live ball turnovers that I think resulted in points on the other end. We saw something similar vs Orlando. Obviously no one is saying he’s a bum, but it is absolutely a problem that The Pistons will need to address for this team to take the next step.

People are cutting him slack because despite the turnovers his impact has been immense.

I got blasted when I said Cade’s a fantastic player but his playmaking hasn’t been elite because of the number of turnovers. Literally got people calling me braindead 🤷🏻.

2 of his turnovers he threw it to Straus and then another threw it at the opponents basket

Great passers often have high turnover numbers, but Cade’s are, admittedly, pretty eye popping.

People forget this but Cade was never supposed to be a heliocentric on ball creator like Luka or prime Harden coming out of college. He’s been in that role with the Pistons because they have had no starter level quality point guards ever, but there’s a reason he has struggled with turnovers his entire career.

I continue to think he’s better suited in a role like LeBron or prime Paul George where they bring the ball up sometimes and do a lot of creation, but the majority of the time there is a point guard who actually does those things to take the load off of him.

It’s a lot less pressure if you address a deficit after a loss then trying to prep for it in advance

While you’re right, he gets doubled a ton and a second ball handler would help that a lot. He also gets gassed playing the big minutes while defending at a high level and carrying the ball majority of the time. Without a secondary ball handler or proper #2 his life is a lot tougher than other stars.
