KG asks the question on everyone’s mind about Joel Embiid
he falls on his glutes to keep the momentum from going to his knees
he just doesnt have sturdy knees, its his curse.
Its a shame its clear he really wants to play
Its crazy how people will treat players with careers ruined/greatly hampered by injury
Derrick Rose and Brandon Roy struggle with injuries (tragedy)
Anthony Davis and Joel Embiid struggle with injuries (comedy)
I think it has more to do with how much the NBA and teams are trying to bend over backwards to extend and protect their injury prone stars.
Back in the day the grind was what it was, and if you couldn’t handle it, your career was hindered by it. Yao, Brandon Roy, Rose and guys like that played full throttle everytime they’re on the court and their careers were shortened due to injuries and the sacrifice they paid with their bodies. But they didn’t do any of the load management, play 40 games a season on minutes restrictions, etc. that we see today.
Everybody is trying to be Kareem and play until they’re like 40 fucking years old. Nobody wants to see senior citizens play a young man’s game. LeBron being the exception to the rule obviously.
Back in the day, a team would tell Embiid, you playing like 70 games at 36mpg or you’re not a max player. Full stop. But now everybody gets their cake, and eat it too.
So people crack jokes on these guys who are clearly just taking franchises to the cleaners, show up for like half the games per season, flame out in the playoffs and get paid 50m a year. It is honestly a joke of what the sport used to be.
There was a bar, and if you didn’t meet it, then you’re Grant Hill post injury, and that was that. But it’s not like that now. Grant Hill would be on a max, and teams would be pushing his stardom, trying to revive his career with all of these exceptions when it’s clear he just can’t perform up to that standard consistently.
You realize it’s mostly the teams pushing the load management right?? Most players arent Kawhi and do want to play. Teams are protecting their investments.
This “back in the day” shit is steaming doodoo.
Derrick Rose was never the same after his knee injury. He still played until he was 35! And his minutes were limited!
Yao’s career got destroyed because national team forced him to play injured.
Like none of what you said or your examples make any sense.
The grant hill example was a good one imo, but I agree with you.
Was it? Hill was done as a superstar after he left Detroit. He essentially took off like 4 years on the Magic he was so killed by injuries. By the time he came back to being an impactful player regularly on the Suns he was in his mid 30s.
Its absolutely not the teams pushing load management FOH. Nobody is going to Embiid and saying yo sit out dude. Embiid is telling them he’s hurting so they sit him.
Drose minutes went down because he was bad after his injuries so he was coming off the bench a lot.
The Yao thing goes against you, not for you. Not only did he not load manage in the NBA, he played a bunch for the Chinese team.
Most of the NBA would sit on the bench 82 games a year if they kept getting checks. They play because its the only way to keep getting contracts.
no one will give Embiid the satisfaction because of how dirty of a player he has been, his foul baiting, and his bitching about MVP/the Sixers losses.
You think it’s just funnier cause they bigger and it looks goofier when theyre falling?
Then he should’ve cared about nutrition and conditioning, but he didn’t give a shit.
Boring but right answer
i can give a riveting answer
if he can wear a mini trampoline under his heels, he can be bouncy, protect his knees, and jump over Wembanyama for a 12 ft vertical dunk suplex
Cycling is really soft on the joints so he really should be on a tricycle going up and down the court.
Tricycle is too stable for a guy like Embiid. Needs a unicycle for peak chaos..
Do you want to play a game manage your load?
Ahhh yeah, now my bike polo experience is getting me a job on the sixers. Every pizza rat punk in the US just got on a shortlist for a coaching position. Finally I can contribute to this beautiful game.
I’m partial to an old school Big Wheel like the one in The Shining.
Silver hire this man.
(this is all from last night’s game)
Here are his 10 falls from last night’s game. Which of these are him making basketball plays and then falling to protect his knees?
1
You mean the first fall?
Yeah, and he’s probably taught to do this. AD does the same thing. Costs your team a lot of baskets in the regular season but should keep you playing more games. But I guess it can be tricky as it’s hard to turn off in the postseason. Shouldn’t be falling when your team is down 0-2. Just got to “risk” injury. Well I guess Embiid is a whole nother case. He’s been injured so much he probably gets PTSD trying to land and keep standing.
Not just PTSD, Joel is almost certainly on his 9th life when it comes to his knees. No matter the injury, historically he would always come back better every year, but this last meniscus tear clearly crossed a limit.
One more knee injury likely means the end of his career. Man loves basketball, he gonna do whatever he needs to do to try and stay alive.
If nothing else, his passing has improved a lot. He is making the right reads.
But we’ve never had shooters to make it worthwhile. And when we do, we get rid of them.
He was never quick, but watching him labor up and down the court now is tough. He simply doesn’t look like hes got the gas to play major minutes, even tho he’s still a beast in the minutes he can play
He was never quick
lol
Non-Sixers fans don’t seem to remember Embiid the first year he actually played. He was bouncy as fuck back then
He was fucking naaaaaasty. Casual fans don’t know/can’t remember.
I remember him busting out a new move every other game. First time he’d use it would be shaky and like he’d need another month of practicing it. By the end of the game he looked like he’d done the move a million times.
A true basketball savant. The only thing he didn’t have was the durability.
We never even got to see how athletic he could have been in the NBA. He started his career sitting 2 straight years from the injury that ended Yao Ming’s career.
They may be taught to do this, but when your examples are Davis and Embiid, something isn’t fucking working.
It’s 100% intentional and has nothing to do with trying to draw a foul. He is massive and has had a long list of injuries. How Embiid lands is exactly the philosophy in landing in parkour with spreading out the force of the landing.
Sometimes he really is just 100% flopping in the most shameless ways to draw a foul though.
Exhibit A
Exhibit B
Exhibit C
Exhibit D
Eh, I was referencing how he jumps and the force that is transferred on his landing, not his random ass flopping/falling over bullshit. These examples are him falling down from weak pressure of a defender. I’m talking about when he leaves his feet to go into the air, if he is anywhere but straight up vertical he will do his staggered landing. Both can be true.
Fair enough, but it did seem like you were kind of implying that he never flops and only ever falls down to protect himself. That is a narrative that cannot be allowed to go unchallenged because he is one of the worst floppers in the entire history of sports. I’m glad you agree his flopping/falling over is bullshit.
This is so blatantly wrong, and makes me assume you’ve never actually seen him play a game.
(last nights falls)
Those are his 10 falls from last night. I’d like you to watch, and tell me which of the 10 are him protecting his knees. And I’d like you to tell me which of the 10 are not attempts to draw fouls.
Seriously. People just buying shitty PR garbage.
I’m talking about when he leaves his feet to jump in the air, not this falling over bullshit. I referenced parkour as a landing technique lol, wtf is him falling over while flat footed have to do with that?
We’re responding to the original post, which talks about how Embiid is constantly falling over. You’re pretending that most of the time he’s on the ground, it’s a technique to avoid injury.
if this is true its still stupid because he has multiple times fallen on other guys legs, fallen in the middle of a high traffic area and gotten stepped on and other guys fell on him, especially on his knees and injured him.
he even fell on danny green, tore his acl, and ended his career.
there is some truth to reducing impact by falling in a strategic way but he is one of the clumsiest i have ever seen at doing it.
When Kuminga fell on him it was because Embiid had possession of the ball and lost it. Joel then dived to the ground to get the ball. And then Kuminga fell on him.
None of his injuries are from foul-baiting.
His 2017 meniscus tear was when he was coming down from a slam. https://youtu.be/8C0MCw_gFrQ?si=30JoYu8lyWeIlPrg
His 2018 orbital fracture suffered when there is contact with his own teammate
2021 hypertension following a slam.
2021 meniscus tear coming down from a slam.
2023 Orbital fracture when Siakam elbows him in the face…
2022 grade 2 LCL sprain after jumping to attempt a block and then tripping on a player already on the floor.
His 2024 meniscus tear where Embiid had possession of the ball but lost it and he dived for the ball. He didn’t fall after a shot. He was in the process of going for the ball.
2024 bells palsy (don’t think I need a link for this).
2026 Appendicitis
Game 4 Raptors 2019 he was dehydrated from diarrhea too…so ridiculous
I used to play like Embiid. He is reckless on purpose.
When I see Embiid play as he is now it reminds me of how used to play and it is frustrating and pisses me off that the NBA allows it. Not proud of it, I was known as Shaq on my local streetball court and went through a phase when I charged hard at everything. Big hard turns to my blindside, didn’t care who was there. Charge right into the lane. Smash into the best offensive player on D while going for the ball, come what may. Limited offensive moves. So make no mistake about it. Embiid knows what he’s doing. He knows people will be injured. He knows his skillset is limited and this is how he can win. He knows people will give way when he drives, think twice their drives, etc. He will only be stopped by a stronger player and/or fearless players like Giannis, Gasol, Draymond, etc. Or by an obviously more skilled player with equal Type A like lbaka. He didn’t intend to injure, but he certainly intends to show you that he doesn’t care if you get hurt when he rumbles into you. At least that’s how used to play. But that was streetball. Eventually I got more moves, played w better players, played real basketball w refs. There’s no doubt in my mind the NBA has some kind of edict coming down, telling the refs to let him run amok.
Parkour nerds breaking it down in the basketball sub!!!! I love this. Ty
Give me a break. 90% of his falls he’s not even airborne. He falls from contact to draw fouls, that’s it. His falls also have nothing to do with parkour/action rolls.
The way he falls is also more dangerous for his knees because he falls from his feet like a tree. His legs are loaded and he’s just adding load from weird angles to his knees.
ok yea sure buddy lmao
So when he goes to set a screen on Shammet, sticks his knee out, and starts falling before contact, that’s to protect himself? Got it. It’s definitely not that he is trying to draw fouls and is a dirty POS. I can’t believe there were threads in here rooting for him to success “because he overcame so much”. Glad his postseason career will amount to absolutely nothing which is more than he deserves.
Or when he somehow fell backwards into Mitchell Robinson while getting dunked on, instead of going up towards the ball. Robinson was lucky on that play, it seemed pretty dangerous. I still don’t understand how that wasn’t a foul
Nah dude he’s just protecting himself. Like when he pulled down Mitch 2 years ago and fucked his ankle for basically all of last season and he still doesn’t play back to backs. Or last game when he lead with his knee going down into KAT as he fell. Everyone knows leading with your knee into the other player is the best way to protect yourself when falling. Absolute scumbag of a player.
The Embiid defenders always say he is falling to protect his knees and then you watch as Embiid goes out of his way to fall over in a situation where nothing should have been sending him to the ground in the first place. Even the highlights in this KG clip you can see Embiid torque his body into an unnatural position and fall when if he had just kept going the natural way he was going before he could have just landed normally.
This is the excuse the Sixers and their fans use, yes. And it makes sense after a basketball play like a block or a dunk or a big rebound. But when you watch the game, most of his falls are from him flinging himself on the ground to get calls.
Steph does the same thing to protect his ankles if I remember correctly.
Steph falls no more than 1/10th as much as Embiid.
Size matters
PG vs C…
Which makes them not comparable. This is an Embiid-specific acting issue.
Smallest guy vs biggest guy on the floor
Which makes the two not comparable in any way. This is an Embiid specific acting job.
He can fall a certain way to protect himself and also fall to bait fouls. Those things can both be true.
Isn’t this basically the same reason Steph falls a bunch, ie to keep stress off his ankles?
And now he has hip issues too lol
I think there’s definitely something to that (falling to protect the knees), but too often he’s seemingly just unnecessarily throwing himself to the ground looking for a whistle and even recklessly to where there’s a risk that someone else could get injured as his body comes hurling towards someone’s legs.
He tried falling on someone else to cushion his fall, especially a few years ago ; they got injured sometimes
That doesn’t explain why he ends up on the floor when guys 100 lbs lighter than him push him as he catches an entry pass.
I’ve thought about this. He literally can’t take it. But he’s too big and gonna hurt someone.
Oh wow, I didn’t realize there was an actual reason behind. Good to know.
This is only partially true. Most of his falls are to try to draw fouls.
It’s irritating as heck to have to keep being ^[edit] bringing this up.
You see all these comments about how falling to foul-bait causes his injuries and it’s flat out false.
He has to fall tbf that knee is straight bone
He’s been doing it his whole career. I think you’re still right but he’s always flopped like a fish and hit the deck way more than anyone his size has any right to
His doctors told him to do that
He’s been injury prone his whole career. He literally missed the first 2 seasons of his career because of injuries.
I’m pretty sure ESPN did a whole report when he returned from an injury about how he was taught to fall in a specific way as a preventative measure.
I had a relatively freshly operated knee and at the end of my rehab, I had a simple slip that cascaded into a fall I couldn’t prevent myself from which led to several torn muscles in the same leg. On the flip, after 10 years of normal healing, I had a major fall that I got up from without even little bit of pain in my knee.
I don’t think Embiid is playing on NBA caliber knees anymore but is still playing which is causing extra falls and more injuries. He doesn’t have the strength left to support himself properly.
He’s been like this his entire career
Upon birth he flopped to the floor before his doctor could catch him
It’s how he first hurt his knees
When he attempted his first FTs straight out the womb, the entire medical staff clapped and cheered.
He’d have to take years off to be at the level physically he needs to get to. Who knows how the rest of his career goes honestly
That’s what I was really implying. His bum legs probably needed 2-3 years of recovery and minor load management in year 3 but it had to be done when the first injury occurred. I really do think that now it’s too late for him to take time off.
In my case, I had a torn ACL, MCL and PCL with a meniscus tear. I kept rushing back to a ‘normal’ active life after 3-6 months of each surgery. It wasn’t until I stopped surgeries and changed my lifestyle entirely that I recovered to some level of painless life.
I don’t think Embiid is that cooked as I was. But it’s starting to look more and more like he’s dragging on with something that’s no longer recoverable.
Also, there’s now new reports and research revealing that surgical repairs for meniscus tears simply do not work and doctors are trying to recommend that patients don’t do those surgeries.
Sorry you had to go through that, friend. I hope you’ve come to terms with your new normal and are finding new ways to enjoy yourself with less pain.
Personally, I hope we send him off to win a Mickey Mouse ring with the thunder
He’s flopping. He’s been like this the whole time.
Yeah fr. He feels a hand on his hip and he hits the ground.
The idea that he is doing this to avoid injury is laughable. He goes down at the slightest contact. Agree.
I don’t think Embiid is playing on NBA caliber knees anymore
Someone needs to tell the Celtics that.
Bro doesn’t even have YMCA caliber knees anymore, he’s going to deal with pain and mobility limitations for the rest of his life. Insane talent but his body can’t hold up
Saying he has a “Floor bag” was freaking diabolical.
KG ain’t lying tho. He’s perfected feeling any contact on a post up and falling down to get a foul. It was legit his gameplan against KAT in game 3
MORE
Controlled falling probably mitigates some injury risk though?
When I wrestled in middle/high school we had this one drill where you had to put your hands behind your back and fall forward. The first few people would just think it’s to toughen up and would just drop forward and take that loud smack as their face hits hard on the mat. But then you quickly realize that if you roll onto your stomach first and let the force even out across a wide surface the impact is lower.
It’s a similar concept. Embiid’s knees are already chronically damaged at this point and putting less impact on them helps prevent further damage.
wtf is that drill lmao, is that still allowed?
Lol I don’t know what it’s called. But I imagine it’s still used, just hopefully with the coach showing what you’re supposed to do first. Once you know what to do it’s harmless.
or on top of a mat
Yes.
I once saw him get hit in the face, didn’t fall, stood there for a few seconds, then laid down on the ground for no reason.
Idk man. I’ve been in some fights. Sometimes you get rocked and just need a second to recalibrate
Not for the players around him
Embiid actually said this in an interview a few years ago. Trainers taught him to fall down to protect his body. Nothing to do with flops or fouls.
I think KG has wet dreams about what he would do against modern bigs
Go to a super team to win a ring?
and he absolutely would have. people always make scenarios about going back in time, but here KG is wishing he could have been playing now and absolutely feasting.
Okay I hear all the people talking about controlled falling.
That does not account for needing to fall on every play. He falls in situations I’ve never seen basketball players fall in. Joel Embiid doesn’t come to a complete stop. He falls.
“Okay Joel, in order to protect your body, when you feel youself falling, collapse slowly to the ground.“
“In order to protect my body, always fall to the ground when I feel contact, got it.”
“No wait-“
who was that teammate he injured because he fell on that teammate’s knee?
Danny Green was still shooting 40% from 3, he only played like 20 more games the rest of his career.
KG is on the all time team man. Love that guys perspective on ball
Embiid without flopping is a fish without water
The noise he makes for Joel motioning for the foul is fucking perfect lmao
I know the consensus is it’s his knees, but he has been doing it since his rookie season.
2026 Fallon D’Floor nominees
Embiid, SGA, Marcus Smart, Jalen Brunson, Who else
I’d replace Brunson for KAT.
I’d notice KAT on the floor way more but that’s more often a result of hard drives to the basket. Brunson naturally turns the corner when driving past defenders to the basket way cleaner than KAT does unless it’s contested against a bigger body.
But KAT, he sometimes has the body control of a baby giraffe so his drives look ugly af in practice even tho they are money for us. But he falls like 30-50% of the time when he does it lol
honorable mention to max strus. he had two plays in a row in game 2 last 5 mins where as he came off a screen on the offensive end, he’d just throw himself to the floor to get ausar thompson fouled out. worked on the first one. they also drew up a desperate play in the last min out of the timeout where they in-bounded to him straight into a flop shot to bait a 3pt foul.
Chet with a face injury
Austin Reeves
first clip is wild against m. robinson, like he purposely wanted to fall
Embiid lands on people very often. His bigass landed right on KAT’s knee in the same game
On the floor bag is comedy
It’s embarrassing to watch
Ya’ll think he should fall on his garbage legs and knees? It’s 100% something he’s prob told to do.
Could be wrong tho
I could be wrong, but I am 100% certain that giving something 100% probability eliminates the option of being doubtful about if you are wrong or right.
It’s both how he lands but also he has been doing this to foul bait his entire career and it lead to a lot of his weird injuries imo.
If he jumps 2+ feet in the air, sure, but he shouldn’t be doing that in the first place. He’s skilled enough and big enough to play floorbound and still be great.
If Embiid actually cared about staying healthy he’d stay on the floor instead of jumping, and stay on his feet instead of falling.
There’s a reason why the natural response to being hurt is to bend over, ball up, and stay on your feet. The idea that it is safer to be on the ground where you can be stepped on and kicked is absurd.
Embiid got that sick falling on the floor bag. These are the real playoff discussions that need to be had. Thanks Ticket.
How you gonna pull another man down by his legs unless you’re on the floor?
On the floor bag.
I’ve said that since hood rookie year. It seemed silly but your number of injuries has to skyrocket, arthritis is licking its lips
Joel is like what i feel like in bad dreams.
legs and knees so weak i cant really achieve anything
Your bad dreams are you being an ultra successful multimillionaire? Damn
to be fair in those bad dreams i could probably still play more games in a season than Joel
Never making it past round 2 is “ultra successful”? You sure?
He’s won an Olympic gold medal and an MVP
He made it to the NBA and is a future HOF’er everybody in the NBA is successful. Being an MVP max contract player makes him ultra successful
So, if he actually had a successful playoff run, he’d be “super duper magic successful”?
He’s failed every season in his main objective. No exceptions. That’s not “ultra successful”.
One day you’ll understand what I wrote
I understood it, the idea is very simple, you’re just incorrect. Someday you’ll figure it out, maybe.
Embid: Fall down 10 times, stand up 8
Embiid mops the floor…with Embiid
He’s supposed to fall on purpose I think
The modern day flopping game.
He’s the SGA of centers
He actually does fall a shit-ton.
It almost feels like Embiid was trained to fall to protect his joints, but he’s taken the advice too far to the point where the falls themselves are actually accumulating enough damage to injure him anyway.
A mountain of a man with a completely botched knee, let’s just land on it over and over again instead
Boys are joking around high as a kite and top comments are… actually from a medical point of view…
There was an article about it a long time ago. He’s falling like that on the advice of his doctors so his legs don’t take as much of the impact
How many sharts has he averaged in his career?
When he falls he falls hard too. Nothing graceful about his flopping. But if he wanna stay healthier he has to stay upright.
I’m pretty sure all the trainers told him just to fall on the ground versus is trying to absorb the force in his knees
I hope not because slamming 270 pounds on the ground is not good lol. I don’t blame him for doing it, it’s just that there has to be another way 🤷🏿♂️
I’ve seen him fall many times with even jumping. He’s flopping, not saving his knees
Someone is falling to the floor on just about every possession in today’s game.
https://www.nbcsports.com/nba/news/joel-embiid-falls-down-a-lot-because-his-doctors-told-him-to
KG is an epic shit talker that seems to be able to still have a point. Personally, I’m excited for old man KG.
Plus his glasses are sick.
He’s a giant slob
At least 10, minimum
On offense, it feels like every other play. He does it so much it’s remarkable.
SGA spends more time lying on the floor than running during a game.
If your body can’t handle basketball activities, stay away from basketball court. Enjoy Cancun!
Not the double shoot lmao
Lmao
Fell out the womb and hit the obgyn with 🔫 🔫
KG an old ass bitch and Paul Pierce poops his pants. Game set and match
Embiid always played like that it has nothing to do with his injury, its a part of his game. Like go back and look how many times he hits the floor 5 years ago.
This isn’t an Embid issue it’s a current state of the NBA problem where players value getting foul calls more than they do getting baskets. Complaining on both ends of the court on every play
MORE 😂
Didn’t he at some point claim he purposely falls to help prevent injuries? So yeah, it’s part of his play.
Problem is, on his way down and while he’s on the floor, he’s going to flail, pull, grab and try any other dirty bullshit he can and he doesn’t care who he hurts including his own teammates. That’s why most non-Sixers fans don’t shed a tear when he’s injured for whatever.
Flopping is Embiid’s game. He’s embarrassing. It’s why he’s a career loser.
I used to fall like Embiid.
I hate to defend embiid but it’s to protect his body. I remember Mitch being falling a lot as well when he was coming back from injury and it’s kinda a skill to learn to protect your body. When you learn to fall the right way that makes you land on your butt, you protect other parts of your body. It trains your body to fall that way and makes you instinctly fall instead of the trying to rebalance end and fall unexpectedly that hurt yourself in other ways
KG drops the n word like he’s in a Tarantino movie
I’ll never forgive Embiid for ending Danny Green’s career by falling on his leg when it was a completely unforced fall
Anthony Davis is the same way. Big man that falls down, constantly injured
LET THE BODIES HIT THE FLOOR LET THE BODIES HIT THE FLOOR
few years ago there was an interview Joel did where he stated his trainers told him he should learn to fall to prevent injury and save his knees….. wild i know
The first winter after I got my driver’s license my father took me to a parking lot while it was snowing and had me learn how to control a car skidding in the snow. I did not start purposefully losing control of the car every time I drove in the snow because that would have been fucking stupid.
I’m sure Embiid was taught how to fall in order to not hurt himself when he did. That doesn’t mean he was told to fall all of the time, including when he’s standing on two feet and someone contacts him.
I had that thought in the Celtics-Philly game when Jaylen Brown pushed off of Maxey and he fell into Embiid. I was like how is this guy falling so much? If Maxey is way out in front of you guarding on the perimeter, and gets pushed into you, how can you not just move away enough that he doesn’t fall into your knees? It’s not like the shot was already up to be watching the ball. It’s like it’s almost intentional
I would not be surprised if he retire at the end of this season or next season.
The Sixers front office fucked up and signed him to a giant extension before they had to. He’d be a fool to retire and walk away from that much money for playing maybe half the season, then being on vacation by early May at the latest every year.
Oh really I didn’t know he had an extension.
Everyone is rushing to Embiid’s defense because he is “a big guy, injury history, that’s what he is taught”. Fine and fair.
He’s also a dweeb and a routine loser who grabs at legs and arms when he goes down. No sympathy for him on anything. He’s not even a fun villain to root for.
He had a full off-season training how to fall because that’s what the doctors recommended him to do instead of trying to support his full body weight with his knees. Makes sense honestly.
Embiid does fall and flop a lot but at his size it’s safer to fall “properly” than to take hits standing up.
Lots of players have wrecked their joints not landing properly (think Derrick Rose straight leg landings).
alphas alpha, betas beta
It’s clearly to reduce the impact on his knees and lower body, falling allows him to absorb the momentum smoothly and avoid injury.
I’m always so surprised that people don’t understand this, it seems obvious.
How’s “avoiding injury” working out for him so far?
…obviously it doesn’t mean he wouldn’t get injured, it’s literally just a technique to reduce impact on your knees and legs.
Not sure why you think that’s some type of gotcha, it’s really not that complicated.
It’s not about complication, it’s about accuracy and honesty. With his super scientific injury prevention technique, he barely plays half the time and puts those around him at risk every time he falls on purpose.
It’s really not that complicated.
Still played enough to send y’all home though this go-around
Yes, they’ve beaten my team once since the 80s, with half our rotation from the prior year gone and our best player out for game 7. And now they’re done, not making it past round 2 again.
This is not the gotcha you think it is.
