I think Thibs just had a preference for offensive players that would do it all themselves as a wrecking ball towards the hoop, which is probably why he seemed to believe in Randle over KAT who is more team-oriented. It’s also why we’d get cooked when opposition teams loaded up on Julius or Brunson defensively.

Making the finals is meeting expectations, winning a chip would be succeeding expectations. So it really depends on what you consider success. I would say personally that winning a chip would be a successful season, but I could live with losing in the finals.

With that being said, the regular season was a roller coaster with a new coach that many doubted, another round of can Brunson & KAT play together, and higher expectations after former coach brought you to the fucking Eastern Conference Finals for the first time in 25 years.
