Since it’s about measuring space, I’m assuming that non-shooting big men have no “gravity” since they can’t “pull the defender in” more than expected. When you are under the basket, expected space is probably none because it’s expected that another big will be on your back.

His mobility or lack thereof isn’t ever really why he gets doubled. If anything it should mean he gets doubled less, because he can’t take advantage of the 1-on-1 as easily.

Ant’s biggest flaw as a player is a combination of incredibly underwhelming passing ability and the fact that he doesn’t want to pass it until he absolutely has to.

He’ll adapt tonight and I guarantee you’ll see him anticipate the double team and get the ball out as soon as they shade towards him. But until his passing accuracy improves it will always be an effective strategy to beat us. He just doesn’t regularly put the ball in a spot where his teammates can instantly take advantage. The extra time it takes them to adjust their position to receive it is enough time for good defenses to close out and contest or recover to challenge the drive.

More context is needed with some of these guys tbh. Like Ingram I think his gravity is so high because who else on that team can create as well as he can? Gravity is drawing defensive attention which bigs aren’t going to draw as much on average because it’s easier to send alot towards guards because you typically have backup if they get by it with your big men, whereas for big man there is no backup if the big man beats their guy they’re scoring typically so that’s why the big men are lower typically. But gravity is drawing defensive attention and the reason shais is so high is because of the way the Lakers are sending 3 dudes to stop Shai from even getting past the 3 point line which is why we’re getting a ton of open looks because their rotations back are alot slower.
