People really do not give him enough credit for sticking through it. The FO and coaching staff quit on the team, but he never did. When Weaver and Williams refused to sit down in front of the media and take questions, Cade was facing the music. Alone. As a 22-23 year old.
He looked right into the camera on draft night and said he was all-in, and he wasn’t kidding. He has been the only one who has believed in this team through it all.

The east is just highly competitive. The gap between the Pistons and the Heat isn’t as big as the gap between OKC and the Rockets.

He was good. He also laid an all time egg in game 6 and cost his team the series. He’s so stupid every 4-5 games and can’t control the game with defense or primary ball handler abilities so it’s pretty limiting compared to someone like Cade when he’s shooting poorly but can still lead the team to victory.
Cade is the NBA version of the guy everyone hates playing against at rec ball.
You can’t move him so he gets where he wants and he’s got a little nasty to him.
He is pretty big for a guard and he’s very crafty, it doesn’t look like he’s breaking ankles but the defender pauses for a half step to gather themselves from his backdown and he’s somehow lazily dribbled it down the wide open lane.
He’s a great mix of smooth, crafty, strong, and physical. One of the big knocks on him has been efficiency and he’s inexplicably started getting more efficient in the playoffs as they’ve gone along

They’re better about managing his effort. He gets 2 mins rest per Q but for another 2-3 mins they have Jenkins or Levert be ball dominant. Also they didn’t run the offense much through him until the 4th, but that only works because the bench guys hit their shots and Harris has been a fantastic 2nd option.
We keep blowing our lead. We really just need to find a way to not bleed points without him.
Ausar being in foul trouble hurt us a lot in that realm. Thanks to Daniss and Tobias scoring regularly we never got out of hand even with Cade quiet for 3 quarters.
Honestly his backdown game reminds me of Kobe with the footwork, physicality and craftiness. Not saying he has better footwork than Kobe because no one does but Cade is more smooth with it and you can’t force him, and his footwork is phenomenal anyway. Not far off from Kobe and Jordan.
Also Danniss Jenkins has been rising to the occasion like a true star!

I say “Orlando could be good if they are healthy” every year, and then eat my words because suddenly Suggs is out for like a month and then comes back rusty or like Franz misses half the season and then the playoff games
