That performance was not nearly as bad as the box score indicates. He killed the offense and rhythm numerous times with just holding the ball, shooting bad shots and turning it over. If you said he was a double agent I would believe it cause he was that bad.

Presti keeps all three of them together, and they complement each other perfectly, covering each others weaknesses. They separate and eventually all their weaknesses get magnified significantly without each other. If Harden stays in OKC, they win a title together, KD probably never leaves, and all 3 of their careers are remembered very differently.

Of course, this doesn’t take into account when KD entered the perfect basketball situation in Golden State and decided to leave that too.
