PJ Tucker announced retirement on his Instagram
(Tucker) 20 years getting paid for it but 40 plus years of not being able to fathom doing anything other than it. So here’s to retiring from the NBA… because I will NEVER stop ballin 🙌🏽🤞🏽
NBA Champion PJ Tucker
I’ll always remember him fondly, he’s one of those role players that has played on a bunch of fun teams throughout modern history
Our team was definitely clicking during the 2021 Finals but PJ’s presence was just what we needed. He’ll always be a Bucks legend
Drank with fans at local bars for multiple days after winning too lol.
Pretty sure the harp still has a picture of him up
This is what I remember also. Many videos of PJ being good-naturedly lit in public, just partying and living his dream. Perfect vibe fit for a Wisconsin team haha
i miss him in new york
Insert LeBron stopper meme
Leborn pls stop
No
He was always good for getting your team an extra possession or two through sheer hustle. He could guard anyone other than the speediest point guards. He was fucking dangerous from that corner and he even developed that ugly ass baby hook that always seemed to go in. He would always crash the boards and box out for people. The guy did everything right on the court.
One of my favorites to don a Rockets uniform.
Also a sneaker legend.
God I miss being happy
Forever a Buck
Forever a Raptor
Forever a rocket
Forever a clipper
Forever a longhorn
Leading scorer at half in the 23 second round game 7 for the 76ers
3 point specialist PJ Tucker!
r/sneakers icon PJ Tucker
Unpopular opinion but I’m glad he got a ring before Harden, I hope Clint Capela gets one too
He pretty much wasn’t in the NBA his first 6 professional seasons and ended up carving out a solid career. Happy he got to win a title
Not just win a title but was an important part of that title team
Real.
He’s very involved in Houston still too, v real
$90.6 million in career earnings, too!
I’ve made like a twentieth of that after working for 20 years which is pretty cool
Honestly kinda curious if he picked up ukrainian or hebrew since he was over there for a bit.
Remember when he was forced to play the 5 in Houston
Rockets legend
The Pocket Rockets were peak comedy
It was working pretty well until Covid hit and Westbrook forgot how to play basketball during the lockdown. (Look at his splits, it’s like the Monstars came to his house and stole his talent right before the season continued in the bubble.)
Was Tucker there during the game 7 loss to GS? Cause that team was solid
Yes. Him and Luc Mbah a Moute were doing work coming off the bench, especially on defense. People forget, but until Luc got injured the Rockets had a Top 5 Defense that year in addition to a Top 2 Offense.
His shoulder dislocation had a much bigger impact than people realize. Him, pat bev, tucker, Covington were absolute amazing role players surrounding prime harden.
Wasn’t he hurt for the last third of that season? It’s basically when he stopped being westbrook
Thats my center
Small ball Rockets was such a fever dream.

Clippers legend too
Remember when D’Antoni refused to play Hartenstein, then Morey cut him? Whoops
5 threes
This time only
\(1000 will win you \)3million
This will forever be funny
Tucker was such a sick role player in his prime. I really wish that Rockets team in 2018 could have got it done
Missing 30 some-odd 3s against the warriors in game 7 really hurt their chances.
They win if they make maybe 5 of those 30 misses which still would have been short of their season average
“If half the shots we missed go in, this is a different conversation” - Sam Hauser
Harden made a three during the 27 miss stretch that got called a foul on the ground without continuation, and a couple legitimate no-calls (not Harden’s hooking/foul-baiting). Officiating was pretty blatantly biased for a game decided by single digits.
Literally one of the biggest tragedies of my life
They heard “small ball” and thought it meant lowering their team shooting average smh
my soul has once again left my body
Best sneaker collection in nba history
The man makes the ‘fit; not the other way round. However, one of most loyal sneaker head nba player we may ever seen, the man does not discriminate.
One of the best players to average 6 points for over 800 games
Damn I’d have never guessed those are his career stats. Does he actually have the best career of a player to average less than 7 ppg for his career?
EDIT: Nevermind, Ben Wallace takes the cake
Rodman or Ben Wallace
It’s Ben Wallace at 5.7.
Rodman is barely above 7.
Bucks legend PJ Tucker
We dawgs!
My goat 😢
He turned 41 two days ago, been locked onto making the nba since before he developed object permanence
Will always remember him for locking down KD’s snake ass
https://i.imgur.com/ybhYAnM.jpeg
Locked him up by making up work really hard for those 50 points
When did he score 50 on the bucks?
He scored 49 in Game 5 and 48 in Game 7.
Nobody scores 50 on PJ Tucker 😤
Facts 💯
Dude clawed his way back into the league and became one of the best role players for a championship team
Happy retirement PJ
This guy was the definition of being a star in your role
The LeBron Stopper

role player mount rushmore candidate since 2000 if you ask me tbh
there’s definitely a few guys ahead of him but pj was on the shortlist for any team trying to compete for years
hall of GRPs
Center PJ Tucker
PJ Tucker is Draymond Green of Robert Horrys
Ah pj tucker a true 76er who came to manayunk (small nice town in Philly) and sat at luckys and had one of their delish burgers. I always appreciate a guy who looks for good food.
Loved this dude on the Heat. One of the best front court partners with Bam we’ve seen.. god they need to get that man some help.
Alvin Gentry’s last gift to the Suns was giving him minutes out of seemingly nowhere. The rest is history
I’m so happy that he finally realized he retired
Aris legend PJ Tucker to you
Bucks legend
Does anyone know why he decided to settle a good bit in Philly? Maybe his kids like the schools or something? He played for other teams after us but we still see him all the time around
He’s back and forth between there and North Carolina.
Knicks Legend pj tucker!
I thought he announced retirement from Instagram
As an introvert PJ Tucker had my dream career lmao bro got rich from hooping a will be able to chill on a restaurant in public very soon if not immediately
I genuinely love this dude as a player
DAWG
NBA Legend (and Champion) PJ Tucker
Great player. So loved using him in 2k games would always trade for him.
just saw footage of him dominating men’s league the other day lol i can tell he’ll enjoy retirement
PJ Tucker did it all man
Daryl Morey just fell to his knees
Dude was more focused on his shoe collection than his nba career
He probably had the greatest career a role player could possibly have.
I saw him at the Apple Store nyc 5th Ave last month.. Smaller in person.
I watched his career from playing at the University of Texas and onwards. Dude was a beast in college (like a Rodman lite imho) and adapted his game through the years to not only be a good role player but an indispensable part of a lot of good teams and a champ team.
Also his sneaker collection is one of the best if not the best I’ve seen. Enjoy retirement PJ. (Wouldn’t mind him being on the analyst circuit)
Knicks legend PJ Tucker
Stole money from the Sixers PJ Tucker. But it wasn’t my money, so I’m good. Enjoy retirement.
If you don’t like PJ Tucker then you don’t like NBA basketball! Happy retirement to the shoe god
Who?
Rockets Legend
This guy from the corner was automatic
Long arms man
Today only PJ tucker 5 thress/s
Respect. That’s a really long career in the NBA, with a ship to boot. Congrats.
Sadly, he no longer has that dog in him. Props to him on a great career.
Best shoe collection in the league 🫡
Sneaker king. Rockets center. Bucks champion. I love this freaking dude and he’s a legend
Daryl Morey just fell to his knees in Wegmans
Pretty damn impressive he was able to stick in the league that long
PJ gave Boston a ring
lebron just didn’t want to run for that loose ball lol
I didn’t even know he still played, solid baller tho.
Today only, PJ Tucker, 5 Threes, $1000 will win you 3 million
He could have retired just from his shoe collection.
Baller. The Devin Booker story about him going so hard that he thought he had to fight only to find out he gave him extra or of respect was my favorite pj story.
Respect. Dude was the quintessential yeoman and elevated teams.
I thought he retired 20 years ago
we are losing recipes
One of my pick up game player comps. Excellent dude, rest well
shout out to those 17-20 rockets teams, i was on their bandwagon HARD every year come playoff time once our run with john and brad came to an (unfortunately extremely early) end
genuinely one of my favorite players, so long goat
NOT PJ
One of the best role players of the 2010’s. PJ Tucker had an amazing career and was that tough nosed player you hated to see on the other team. I will never forget how much he terrified me on Houston because he did all these little great things that made beating Houston feel like a moving goalpost.
The job PJ did on KD that series was unbelievable
NBA Champion PJ Tucker, put some respect on that name
The Lakers can use him now and he can take Jake lavarias minutes.
PJ was a bar customer of mine. Really chill dude and solid tipper. Have a nice retirement big guy.
Brose Baskets Bamberg Legend PJ Tucker
German Finals MVP 2012
Never hit his 5 threes to get me a nasty parley
forgot this guy existed
