I think keeping the number 2 pick was fine in hindsight. We were coming off some shitty seasons without Klay and we had no idea if we were going to get back on track. It’s just unfortunate that Wiseman turned out to be nothing.

Joe Lacob has always been lowkey jealous he didn’t draft Steph, he wanted another prodigy to take all the credit for. That’s why he was adamant on the 2 time line bullshit with Steph only being 31 at that point, he thought it was all over. The 2022 title saved him because otherwise the heat on the FO would’ve been worse.

Yeah, the idea of winning with a mix of their old core and new rising stars was never a terrible one. In the new CBA era, hitting on picks is really the only way to sustain excellence. They just missed on the draft picks.

I remember finding out the warriors had such high picks and thinking that the dynasty was about to be revived.

Also, Trey Murphy and Jalen Johnson went after moody. Obviously hindsight and the draft is far from perfect science but imagine any combination of those guys being drafted over the 3 guys they got.

But lamello and Poole on the same team would have been not great .Their shot selection would have driven kerr and curry crazy .

Kerr would have never been able to coach LaMelo. The Warriors are apprehensive about anyone that needs the ball in their hands. Curry isn’t really going to make backdoor cuts and play above the rim.. neither would Draymond. Draymond probably punches LaMelo instead of Poole.

Warriors really lack a center to compete with the top teams in the west.

Last year they had a puncher’s chance; this year they’re older and weren’t playing great even before the butler injury; next year they’re even older. They pushed the chips in for a run last year, and they were legitimately good and competitive til Steph got injured. But at this point it’s over. Time for Warriors fans to just enjoy watching Steph as long as they can.

No way dude. My oldest son is a rising freshman football and basketball player at a 6A high school in Texas - he’s 6’1” 207 and wears size 15 in 8tj grade - all we do is football and basketball practice, games, camps, etc. My youngest is 7 and plays more baseball than mlb players it feels like.

My point is I want them to ALSO learn to play golf because it will come back in your later years and you can enjoy it until you’re 90.

The average value of an NBA team in 2009 was \(367 million. Now it’s \)4.6 billion. Steph isn’t the reason every NBA franchise is over ten times as valuable now.

Steph has gotten 5% of the gross valuation in salary. That’s a pretty good deal without having to buy in or take any kind of financial risk.

Every NBA team is a multi billion dollar organization now. That would’ve happened with or without Curry. He did turn them into one of the most valuable NBA teams though.
