Austin Rivers responds to Draymond Green
we should all aspire to have background paintings like that of ourselves
Going to make one of myself in every minimum wage job I’ve held
Make sure you put employee of the month under each one
Rookie of the year every year
And the job your dad gave you prominently in front.
Just me in my McD, Wendys, and Walmart uniform
Make sure they are all action poses too:
Flipping a burger in your MCD uniform!!!
Handing a bag out the drive-thru window at Wendy’s!!!
Stocking a shelf at Wal-Mart!!!
This is awesome 😂
This is the type of shit we should waste AI on 😤
https://imgur.com/a/iZfatja
why is this lowkey inspirational
Well I’ve worked 7 or so low paying jobs during high school, college, summers, grad school even post undergrad but I am now a team lead of 10 within engineering! Maybe I should put that in the middle
Look at Mr big shot over here.
Now imagine the mural Doc Rivers has of himself
Richarlison has a tattoo of himself Pele and R9.
Lmao just me in button ups at different corpo jobs
“Ah yes, that was my second stint in SF, 8 tickets closed a day, 2 meetings dodged, put up some good numbers there”
All time leader in teams messages ignored
But what about your “nothing on my end” per 36?
I think this is actually a genius idea and something we should all do
I thought it was a group of his favorite players, but its all just him lol
Pick up a paintbrush, buddy. You got this.
Damn I never realized until now how much this dude looks like Andrew Tate. Crazy
Lol I thought the same thing like “why are we posting Andrew Tate on the NBA sub?”
Maybe MPJ did actually show some andrew tate shit to one of his girls after all
showing a lady austin rivers clips is where i draw the line
More like Andrew Tate looks like Austin rivers lol
Whoever is older gets to say it
Mentally or physically? I feel like it matters here
In the spirit of fairness, whoever was on earth first 🤣
Except Austin Rivers has a chin.
Bragging about only being in college for 6 months tracks.
I came here to say this lol it’s uncanny
This is getting petty. More please. lol
This is garbage. And I am eating it tf up. More please.
I’d watch Draymond Vs Austin Rivers celebrity boxing.
Get Jordan Poole in Austin’s corner
Jordan
“now listen Austin, Draymond really just swings and hope he connects. I’d just play the law of averages and stand there like the hoop I don’t think I’ve ever seen him connect twice in a row”
We’re some nasty big drama bitches.
Let’s have some more. 💅
“lets just be frienemies” was so spicy
Wish it was happening at the end of June and not early May. I don’t need Love Island NBA during the playoffs.
They be wasting our Love Island show while the playoffs are going strong. Smh
This is Real Housewives shit for guys who claim to hate that stuff 😆
didn’t draymond lose a 3 point shootout to kevin hart?
Yes lol
I thought he said Kevin Love and thought why’s that funny? Then I saw Kevin hart lol man that’s funny as hell
It’s legendary for sure.
Draymond is the ultimate example of how much team fit can change a guys career. I have 0 doubt if his career started on the process 76ers he woulda bounced from team to team and maybe even been out the league due to his temper if enough teams got sick of him. Instead he gets to focus on defense and passing (which he is great at don’t get me wrong) on the best shooting team ever. The difference of where he got drafted literally was the difference between a hall of fame career and a guy would be a defensive minded journeyman.
He’d also have another championship if it weren’t for that temper
More than than that if KD only left because of him
They don’t get KD without his temper so actually it added a championship on net
All time all star weekend moment honestly
Please tell me that was the same year Steph couldn’t make a shot for cancer lol. I’ve never heard of that somehow.
same year Steph couldn’t make a shot for cancer
thats every year, dude hates shooting for charity
Yes he did.
Yeah Kevin Hart didn’t stick to the script. Lol
I played Austin in high school let me just say I started looking for jobs after
I saw him at City of Palms and boy was he good. Also that City of Palms tournament in Ft Myers not Naples used to go hard.
I remember Coach K, Coach Williams, and Coach Huggins all sitting next to each other in that high-school gym.
Check out this lineup in 2010… Austin Rivers, Rakeem Christmas, Shabazz Muhammad, Deuce Bello, Savon Goodman, Adonis Thomas, Sam Thompson, James McAdoo, Mike Gilchrist, Shannon Scott, Julian Royal, Dai-jon Parker, Shaquille Johnson, Derrick Gordon, Alex Murphy, Ricardo Gathers, Marshall Plumlee, Omar Calhoun.

Jacoby brissett the Cardinals qb is in there too.
You get cooked?
Austin Rivers was one of the greatest high school players ever. It was a huge deal in Florida.
I once delivered to the neighbor of Doc Rivers house in florida. It was nice as hell. A bitch to get in and out of though. Carrot Top lives in the neighborhood too.
look up “austin rivers high school highlights” that boy was nice

He got careered
Flammed my ass
And how about on the court?
Lmfaoooooooo man
You asking if an 11-year NBA vet cooked a random Redditor
You in one of those mixtapes?
Podcasters beefing again.
gotta generate contents somehow
They trying to stay relevant using the rappers beef method
Draymond: You peaked in high school.
Austin: <pans camera to his high school trophy> How dare you!?
Rivers said no lies lol. Draymond got lucky ash. Let bro get drafted damn near anywhere else he’s known as a great defender and an offensive liability. His passing was never anything great either let’s be real.
Draymond be on bullshit but some of y’all just be lying cause you don’t like him. He averaged 14-9-7 the year before they got KD and shot 49% from the field and almost 40 from 3. All the while anchoring the 5th best defense in the league and winning 73 games. Sure he landed in maybe the best situation for him but he was gonna be a great player regardless
People will never be able to have an objective conversation about Draymond, anyone who pays attention knows how elite Draymond was.
I mean, it’s multiple things being true.
Draymond is a talented player who deserves recognition for truly incredibly defense.
At the same time, he also got immensely lucky by being drafted into a literal perfect situation that allowed him to develop into the best version of himself. As much as people want to believe that talent transcends situations, for players with specific skillsets and weaknesses, fit and development matters a ton.
It was a clear win win situation, but Draymond is on some absolute bullshit. Saying that Kerr hindered his career is absolutely insane. Kerr built a system that literally allowed Draymond to play into all of his strengths, which was only possible due to having the 2 greatest shooters ever who also happened to be godly off ball players.
The “Draymond woulda been out the league” contingency of this sub feels safe in this thread to come out but it’s really one of the sorriest takes you can have. True litmus test for casuals.
His team success is highly predicated on him being on the Warriors, and no, he wasn’t going to turn a team like the Kings around. But people acting like his DPOY/playmaking ability for 15 years is a fluke cuz of where he was drafted are just telling on themselves
there is good reason he touched on shooting and not defense for this clip.
Sure draymond is lucky he happened to be on that team, but highlighting his weaknesses as an offensive player/shotmaker is just kinda transparently avoiding his actual contributions.
passing was never anything great is like active volcano levels of hot take
Like inarguably top 5 passing player for his position. You can argue the order of the 5 but he’s in that conversation no matter what.
That’s an inflated stat that benefits from amazing shooters surrounding him.
Edit: thanks for award!
Seriously. Passing to Steph, Klay and KD = greatest passing big of all time??!
I’m 5’10” 200 lbs on a good day and if you gave me the ball at the top of the key I could get 5 assists a game with Steph Klay and KD out there 😂
Have you a watched a game? The offense can look lost without him. I don’t even know what stat you are talking about but just watch the games and you can tell how key Draymond is as a distributor and coordinator of the offense.
There’s a lot of revisionist history going on here because people just don’t like Draymond lol his playmaking was a key part of the Warriors dynasty. Nobody on reddit can make me believe otherwise
Bro is literally the short roll master. The curry/dray PnR was the deadly weapon on the win record breaking team… idk why people are trying to downplay his achievements, must’ve been too young to be aware since it was 10-11 years ago
The de facto point guard for the Warriors dynasty… not a bad resume
Fuck Dray, and also you’re 100% correct. No clue what that guy is on.
32 points, 15 rebounds, and 9 assists in the finals game 7.
0-0-0-0-0-0-0 1 DNP-Jackass game 6.
Led his team to 15 wins as the guy with no Steph and no Klay and drove out KD. Punched the talent out of Poole who was the second player in their 2024 championship run. Has over 200 technical fouls and is widely considered a dirty player. Took home 250 million dollars from the warriors and helped contribute to the warriors having continuously having one of the highest payrolls in the league, leading to them having to constantly make drastic changes.
Draymond Green should have a statue of Steph Curry in his home because that man turned is the reason a good player can become an arrogant douchebag without immediately being called out for it.
And yet they don’t win any championships without him except for maybe the first Durant year. Although it was Draymond that recruited Durant in the first place.
Brain dead take. And I hate Draymond.
I think the problem lies with a nepo-baby being the messenger.
Steph Curry, the reason Draymond is as rich as he is, also had a father who played in the NBA
Lmfao are we really comparing Step to Austin now??? The only thing they have in common is that they both had dads in the NBA…
There’s no such thing as a nepo baby in the nba lol
You’re either good or you’re not.
He wasn’t great but he was a solid nba player. Far from Dwayne wades son on the Utah jazz’s g league team (Zaire wade)
Bronny James erasure
Bronny is literally only in the NBA because of his dad. Austin Rivers was good enough for the NBA but the only non-minimum contract he got was from daddy. They are nepo babies. When everyone else is giving you end of the bench money and daddy gives you 42 million you’re a nepo baby.
He didn’t get drafted to a team with a HoF coach or front office. The front office didn’t become HoF caliber until after he helped win a bunch of titles. And he got drafted when Mark Jackson was still coach.
Not to mention people forget that for the first 5 years of his career Curry wasn’t seen as much. People thought his first extension was a risk because of both his injury history and the fact he hadn’t shown much.
He literally lied lol. Draymond wasn’t drafted with Kerr as a coach, n Klay and Steph hadn’t accomplished much yet.
draymond had 16 assist game with no steph ,multiple 19 assist games. not a great passer? hes not a scoring threat which makes his passing more impressive tbh
Triple double without points
This comment is genuinely embarrassing
The dude hit a game winner in the Dean Dome wearing a Duke jersey, in the midst of an All-ACC season. Wild to say he peaked before that.
That was amazing. To think he was there just one season and that happened couldn’t have been any better scripted.
OK Austin absolutely roasted him lmfao
“I didn’t peak in high school, it was actually college”
The roasting is that the only reason he’s a hall of fame player is because he played with Steph and Klay and had Kerr has a coach. Lol
He’s right. Draymond getting drafted by the Hornets is a nobody.
100%. As a complementary piece on a team with multiple Hall of Famers, he excelled in that role, but he would never have been able to lead a team anywhere. As Chuck would put it, a bus rider.
HOF bus rider.
By these standards, Dennis Rodman was a bus rider. Such a dumbass none-sense take
Not a Draymond fan, but Austin was on a nobody on 7 different teams
That still doesn’t invalidate his point
Austin literally says in the video draymond had a better nba career. He just said draymond was lucky to be on the team he was on.
He would have been fine. Great defender and was the roll man in one of the leagues best pnr duos for years because of his passing. Would have anchored the defense and run pnrs with kemba. Maybe never makes all nba or a finals but both he and the hornets would have been okay.
But that’s the whole point. We’re not talking about whether he would’ve been “okay”. Draymond is speaking from a pedestal because he has titles and accolades that he wouldn’t had he been drafted to a team like the Hornets and just been “okay”.
His defense would’ve been great. His skills would still translate. But would he have won DPOY? Would he elevate his team to deep runs in the postseason? A title?
A pretty good comparison is Aaron Gordon. Gordon was frankly pretty bad on the Magic because he was trying to be an iso scorer and taking contested mid range shots.
Now he’s considered one of the most important role players in the league with the Nuggets and helped them win a championship. He went from arguably making the Magic worse to being a key player for Denver’s amazing team. He sure as hell stopped taking those pull up middies when he went to Denver lol.
Draymond was a plus defender from day 1 and all defense caliber from year 2, though he didn’t play enough minutes to make it. He was the DPOY runner up in year 3. I think there are enough smart people in the NBA that after he got his first 2 seasons on tape he was always going to get a shot somewhere. He’s an all-time defensive anchor and is good at the league’s most common offensive play, it’s not that hard to make it work. I also think he could have won more DPOYs on a different team. We were coasting in the regular season during a big chunk of his prime. I think the implied question when this discussion always comes up goes something like “what if he had Tony Allen’s career?” when he’s just much better than Tony Allen and would have been better than him given the same opportunities
The ranked number 1 and the ranked I don’t know fuckin got me lol
And saying he was better in six months at Duke than Draymonds whole college career
I think they’re both right
Didn’t Draymond say him and Rivers had comparable HS careers? That’s just a flat out lie from Draymond lol
The competition on the SAGINAW MICHIGAN circuit was TOUGH!!!!!
lol make sure you put the sarcasm /s! Draymond might actually believe this.
Their points may be correct. But I would still say Dray is “wrong” in this situation because he completely misinterpreted Austin’s original point, which was actually more complimentary than negative. His dumb ass started the whole beef for no reason
It’s because he’s hyper emotional And dumb. It’s a tnt combination
The funniest part about kd leaving the warriors was Draymond told him “ we don’t need u” for absolutely NO reason bro just wanted to start something
The Tortoise and the Hare.
Yeah I don’t think either of them said anything wrong about each other
People really push the Austin was a nepo signing, which as an LAC fan is total bullshit.
For starters, he was brought onto the team as a buy low candidate for a pretty low price (Bullock who was a poor performer for LAC + filler). He showed decent improvement his first 1.5 years, but he was notably pretty solid on defense and his 3 point shot was slowly coming into form.
More importantly though, he was signed just to get salary on the books for more cap flexibility. LAC had some far fetched hopes to get KD, but they would have had to gut their roster and basically have Cp3/Griffin/KD/DJ + all minimums. When KD signed with GSW, LAC was in a bad spot financially anyways (all of their money was tied up to their core guys with very few contracts to even consider for trade), so giving Rivers a 3⁄35 gave them some form of salary filler for potential trades.
Even with this though, Rivers was a solid 7th man for LAC and he more or less earned that contract. He was one of our better defenders, a capable starter when injuries came up, and he become a pretty reliable 3 point shooter on decent volume.
Sticking to (mostly) real points makes for a good beef
Happy to say I haven’t listened to either of these dudes podcasts
Rivers is actually really insightful, and good at breaking down/explaining the game.
When he was with the ringer he was awful, haven’t given him another chance since
He’s good at calling games for NBC surprisingly enough.
He started ROUGH, but he’s definitely improved throughout the year.
I hope he never cleans up his little jokes he says for no reason like, “oh look it’s my dad, been wondering when he’s gonna come home.”
his interview with Giannis for NBC earlier this season was legit great
one of the best player sitdown interviews ive watched
“There are countless examples of you getting a layup when defenders leave a wide open lane because they’re fanning out to guard the ACTUAL talent on the team”
Ok that was good 😂😂☠️
Countless HOURS
The man is not wrong
Austin Tate
People shitting on him for having a painting of himself throughtout his career in the background when their room is probably full of little league placques and fantasy football trophies. Both scenarios are okay btw.
Also Draymond you got 24 hrs to respond
Excuse me my man cave is adorned with hundreds of dollars worth of Lego architecture sets and sick sci fi posters. We are not the same.
Lego architecture? Motherfucker grow up and build the damn Star Wars star fighters
bruh what did draymond say
That Austin rivers received the largest bailout in NBA history when his dad gave him a contract on the clippers
*largest bailout in US history 😂
Funny coming from the guy who made 250 million dollars riding off Steph Curry’s coat tails lol
I saw the Draymond clip and I was sure he was talking about Austin Reaves, took me a bit to realize he was beefing with Glenn’s son.
Big baby davis has a kid??
I don’t even like Draymond but he was 100% right on that bailout comment.
To an extent. Rivers did carve out a career of his own independent of his Dad, and he played a hell of alot longer then most people thought he would.
2016 Playoffs Round 1 Closeout Game Clippers v. Portland
In the loss Austin Rivers put up 21 points 6 rebounds 8 assists, +2,
AFTER
getting clubbed in the face, bleeding everywhere, getting 11 stitches, and only having vision out of one eye.
Rivers got drafted by a team and sustained a role on that team without his father, go plays for his dad, then goes on and played for other teams not connected to his father. So what was the ‘bailout’? I’d consider it a bailout if Rivers would’ve been out of the league had it not been for his dad, his career shows that that was never the case.
Not really. Austin was a solid rotational player making solid rotational player money. Biggest bailout yet lasted 11 years in the highest league in the world
The bailout comment was true haha but so is most of what Austin said as well so they both are right 😂
I need a mural of all my minimum wage jobs I’ve been at
Not a draymond fan by any means but cmon, he wasn’t really drafted in a HOF situation, the warriors became the warriors that we know because Draymond enable them to be who they were, i mean his defensive impact is getting underrated more each day, it really baffles me how people just skip over that, its true most of the things that happened with some players leaving is totally his fault for sure but the warriors don’t become a dynasty without draymond.
I think its somewhere in the middle. Draymond is fortunate he ended up in a competent organization and next to a player like Curry where he was given an opportunity as a 2nd round pick and to his credit he made the absolute most of it.
But like if my mentally handicapped Kings had picked him in the 2nd round of that draft I do wonder how his career would have turned out. I highly doubt he would have blossomed here to no fault of his own. Just a dumb team not recognizing the value in Draymond’s strengths and just sees his weaknesses.
part of the team being labeled competent is them finding a gem in Draymond Green.
Curry is just as fortunate as Draymond. Green is instrumental and a key part of those runs. Sometimes you just get pieces and a coach that fit each other. Or they grow to fit each other.
Hahahahaha that’s funny. I always think of that Bogut quote.
I knew if I was in Milwaukee and I set that I'd foul out in the first quarter, but playing in Golden State, when they started to become that underdog team that was building up, I knew once Steph or Klay got hot, the refs would be in the moment as well. I could literally clothesline someone off the next pindown, I know Klay just hit 3 in a row, the crowd's on their feet as he's getting his 4th and I could punch somebody in the face on a screen, knock em out and they wouldn't call it. Klay would get his 4th 3, and even the refs would go "Wow" (and ignore it), it was crazy.
It’s really cause everyone starts from the conclusion of “I hate Draymond” and work their way back from there lol.
Damn Austin 🎤🫳! I have no horse in this race, but Draymond better comeback strong.
He doesn’t have the brain cells to lol
Movable object vs stoppable force 😭😭
Bunch of children 🤣🤣🤣🤣
More!
Round 1….Green comes out of no where with some light punches
Round 2….Rivers comes out SWINGING!
Please…we need at least 10 rounds. Not going to lie….I loved that Rivers didn’t pull any punches and say lame PR BS, he just went for it.
couldnt get thru the first 5 seconds without busting up lmao
CMONN DRAYMOND. THISISRIDIKILUS
need them to go 1 v 1 at the next all star game
Microphones are too easy to purchase
Insert two homeless people calling each other broke ass pic
Man I dislike Austin Rivers but he spit nothing but non-gmo organic whole wheat 7 grain grass-fed no antibiotics ever FACTS with a little hint of Lawrys (iykyk)
[deleted]
Can I ask why that’s so weird to people? Seems like a way of honoring the very successful basketball career he had which he should absolutely be proud of himself for.
I don’t have one because I haven’t done anything, I’m assuming that’s true for you too. I just have pictures. It makes sense.
Dudes in here acting like their walls wouldn’t be covered with their own shit if they played in the nba for over a decade
Like, I have my Legos and 40k minis displayed in a room. I can’t imagine what I’d do if I’d ever accomplished anything of note.
There’s also a chance it was made by a fan and he’s honoring that as well
Every professional player ever has walls of their own memorabilia. Why are people acting like this is weird?
Please, keep going 😭😭😭😭
Lmao, who’s got the popcorn for this drama?
The Harrison Barnes erasure in this clip
Lmao what is this 😂
The funniest thing ever is basketball reference’s similarity scores for Draymond….since everyone always thinks he’s automatically a HOFer, who comes up as with the most similar performance arc through 13 seasons?
Kevin Willis
Gordon Hayward
Nene
Donyell Marshall
Christian Laettner
Derrick Favors
Dude cooked
This mf really just proving he peaked in HS
Did Austin Rivers not do any research? Mark Jackson was coach when Draymond got drafted. And he was riding the bench behind David Lee. Steve Kerr did unlock Draymond but let’s not act like he was in a well made situation when he got there.
how is this even a thing? draymond is a moron in many ways but at the end of the day hes one of the best defenders of his generation and it sure as shit wasnt curry who was playing defense for him. this whole talk about what if draymond was drafted elsewhere is always so weak. he wouldnt have won anywhere close to as much as he did on the warriors, but that wouldnt make him any worse of a player.
not only that, but its also not as if draymond was immediately thrown into a perfect situation. he himself was one of the reasons why the warriors rose to a championship level. he started his career coming off the bench under mark jackson.
“Getting a rebound and driving to a wide open layup because [the defense] is fanning out to guard the actual talent on the team.” That’s most high tier insult I think as far as Xs and Os can go. What a line.
I hate draymond so much so I’m in on this. Draymond is a fucking scrub who can’t control himself
Put some respect on the greatest testicle kicker of all time
We’re in the middle of the playoffs and we’re still tapped into Donkey and Andrew Tate podcast drama
I swear on my life i thought this was Andrew Tate.
Didn’t Austin played with superstars too like in LA clippers and Denver? As I recall he didn’t have that big of an impact as Draymond did.
Fuck Draymond and all, but like, for a former successful NBA player to respond to another NBA player’s criticism with highschool accolades is fuckin hilarious. Move on you fuckin losers
Love this. Draymond isn’t a good person. Sorry. He’s just not.
