Weird stat about that 10 teams, it was 5 in the East and 5 in the West, even split. All the Western teams were from Texas or California, and only 2 of the California teams even won

Heck, you can go even crazier, from 1980 to 2010, the only Western conference teams to win the chip were the Lakers, Spurs, and Rockets. 10 by the Lakers, 4 by the Spurs, and 2 by the Rockets. 31 year span and ¹²⁄₁₅ Western teams won zero NBA titles.
