Forgot how to shoot 3’s

Reworked his shot & completely broke it. It was pretty mid at best & reworking it made it worse, if his shot isn’t falling he can’t do enough to cover for being one of the worst defenders in the league.

Couldn’t handle the physically when players started marking him as a shooter during the regular season. Seeing how our relative teams played each other in this series, he’d definitely be unplayable.

He was never good, but put up some empty stats when we were tanking. People who only looked at boxscores thought he was good, but if you watched those games you knew he was not cut out for the NBA. 

His rookie season got off to such a bad start that the team assigned him to the 905 gleague team, where he managed to somehow play worse there, so they quickly pulled him back up. He finished his rookie season able to hit 3’s at a respectable rate, 36%, but I have never seen an NBA player so lost on defense as he was as a rookie. 

Y2, he still was a complete matador on defense, but we started the season severely injured. IQ, Scottie, and RJ all had injuries causing them to miss games, but RJ played the most out of them. That meant Gradey was our primary/secondary scorer, and he put up empty stats in games we were being beat down by good teams. Can’t dribble the ball, can’t pass, can’t defend and  his 3pt shooting fell to 34%. Our fans were coping saying it was the type of shots he was being forced to take, as to why his shooting fell, but he was still getting clean shots but could not make them. 

Y3 his role is diminished because we now have healhty starters + BI. Can’t make a 3(ended up at 30.1%) to save his life, and still playing matador defense, still can’t dribble the ball or pass. Walter completely outplayed him to take up the backup wing minutes, and then he continued to fall down the rotation eventually having Battle and Lawson pass him too. Fans coping that he “put on too much muscle, which affected his shot”, but his mechanics have always been bad, and now he has no confidence to boot. 

Shooter forgot how to shoot 

He reminds me of Lonnie Walker. Pretty decent scorer but doesn’t deal well with physicality and not good on defense. Guys like that are not helpful in today’s NBA

Don’t get to playoffs without Ingram

I feel like a low usage IQ would have really helped.

no idea what a high usage IQ looks like in the playoffs. might have been bad for us.

Hell no. IQ initiating the offence or running PnR allows you to rest Scottie. Shead cannot run the offence at IQ’s level and IQ is no point god.

While I do agree that IQ being the primary initiator can be a mixed bag saying him and Shead have the sad impact is crazy lol. IQ spacing alone would’ve made a massive difference in the this series

Naw man. Quickley’s ability to catch and shoot off ball at a high percentage would’ve been great this series. I love Shead but he’s a bit of a black hole on offence sometime and he bricked some timely 3s and free throws this series. Also won us a few games so not to diminish his impact.

Brandon Ingram was hurt all series and didn’t play Games 6 or 7. We saw what happens when he feels good.
