Zache Lowe is the only one on the ringer worth listening to imo the rest of them continually put out bad content. It’s basically just a Boston sports blog with the occasional main stream talk about LeBron and whoever else is media relevant at the moment

I think a lot of you guys take basketball podcasters too seriously and their opinions you don’t agree with too personally and hyper fixate on 30 seconds of tape on an hour or two hour long podcast.

I’m not a big podcast guy but I listen in once in awhile on the Ringer guys. They aren’t basketball savants but like its such inoffensive at worst content. None of them are hot take artists they just do what all humans do sometimes and have opinions that aren’t accurate or don’t feel well founded. They often just sound like average fans who have more basketball knowledge than you’d usually find with someone like that because it’s their job to talk about basketball. People make it sound insane until you just listen to one podcast and you realize it’s people online who are insane and have a giant stick up their ass.

Honestly it sounds like people just want to hear their own takes come out of someone with a microphone’s mouth and get mad when it doesn’t happen. And considering sports are consistently unpredictable a lot of people who dare to have takes about sports are gonna look dumb.

Pina is the worrssttt. I remember a podcast with him and that Seerat chick came on autoplay whilst I was driving about three years ago.

I drove into a wall and broke my C1-C7 and now have to shit in a bag!

Luckily my mum doesn’t mind helping me clean up 😅.

I still wake up in cold sweats at night (which I’m unable to wipe off my brow because mum straps me to the bed to make clean ups easier).

I’ve sent Bill tonnes of emails and tried to bribe him with Amazon gift cards to fire Pina but he won’t listen to me. Oh well, life goes on.

He’s the absolute worst. Even ignoring the bad takes - he’s just so horrible at having a conversation. The amount of times Zach throws him a question and Pina just goes “oh.. idk man”. He’s just a complete amateur.

The sooner you realize the media is oversaturated with a bunch of New England clowns the sooner you stop taking a lot of the discourse seriously.

A lot of these clowns have MVP votes which sucks ass though

Yea seriously it’s wild how bad the combos are with Zach. I kind of like him and Rob Mahoney, who the Ringer is really pushing hard. But even then, I really wish there was a combo like Zach and Steve Nash or someone who really gets the intricacies of the game. Almost everyone on the ringer just does very basic analysis, other than Mo who is great.

Reminder that Howard Beck was legitimately crying like a little baby because he didn’t want Pacers/Thunder to go to 7 games last year because he didn’t want to travel.

To be fair, I don’t see how anyone can like what Giannis did to this franchise. Absolute tire fire of a teammate, Lebron’d the FO into dumb short term trades, grifting on a gambling site, losing on the off day when he did play this year, refusing to do the 3 on 3 rehab workout then complaining to the league that they wouldn’t let him play - dude went from good guy to bad guy faster than anybody since Bill Cosby.

Well usually there’s a part in the middle where you say you are wrong. Instead he said one thing was obviously true and then said the exact opposite thing was obviously true.

It’s the epitome of wanting to make a certain pick and then squeezing everything else into that framing. He ignores any potential positive the Knicks might’ve had going in, which turned out to be a lot. Like, who would guard KAT?

Wrong predictions don’t bother me. They’re meaningless.

Contradictions like this, without any acknowledgement they were wrong, from “analysts,” do annoy me though.

It’s not that he got the prediction wrong. That’s whatever. It’s that he then acts like the opposite outcome was obvious all along.

If you’re gonna be a take merchant like these guys then at least admit when you were hilariously wrong before giving more takes.
