Sam Cassell hasn’t got an NBA head coaching job, despite being an assistant coach since 2008. I wonder if it is because he’s a not-so-good interviewer or teams just don’t see his talent and what he brings to the table.
He hasn’t missed a season of not coaching since he was hired by the Washington Wizards in 2008 as an assistant. He has now been an assistant coach with the Wizards (2008-2014), the Clippers (2014-2020), the 76ers (2020-2023) and currently the Celtics since 2023.
Even people on television like Michael Wilbon and Charles Barkley acknowledge his talent and say he is very deserving, even winning a championship as an assistant with the Celtics two seasons ago.
Wonder why he hasn’t finally scored a chance to be a head coach?
