[BasketNews] Reaves spoke about his recovery from a Grade 2 oblique strain. “A lot of treatment. I did not go with Luka to Europe, though.”
While Luka Doncic continues to recover from a hamstring strain, Austin Reaves has already made his return to the court – and to the starting lineup – for the Los Angeles Lakers.
The Lakers secured a 98-78 win over the Houston Rockets in Game 6 on Friday night, closing out the series 4-2 and advancing to the second round. After the game, Reaves spoke about his recovery from a Grade 2 oblique strain.
“A lot of treatment. I did not go with Luka to Europe, though. Don’t say it,” he said with a smile.
Still, returning to game rhythm, especially during the playoffs, was not easy.
“It would have been much easier if I were able to play a couple of real games before,” Reaves admitted. “What happened with the injury at the time, you just gotta play the cards you’re dealt. We literally did everything we could to get me back into this opportunity.
“There were days I left my house at 7:30 in the morning and didn’t get back until 7:30 or later at night, just going through every possible thing I could go through to help myself get better. And we did it as a collective. We huddled up when it first happened, and it was basically an attack every single day after that.”
