[Highlight] Rui Hachimura offers to help Alperen Sengun up, but Amen Thompson arrives just in time to push Hachimura away
Rui’s a good dude.

Sorry we didn’t make history. I know that had you screaming in your sleep last night

Nanjing…wait what?
Place 😐
Place, Japan😲🤩
Shit. The entire rockets team should’ve been trying to shake Ruis hand. Hope to get some of that 3 point magic to transfer.
Amen more like Abitch here
Amen 🙏🏼
I got pissed when he pulled Reaves arm. Who is teaching these young defenders to pull arms when they’re upset? Happened the other night with Dyson Daniels. Making dirty players.
Not just here, on that hand-pull play as well
You should be a novelist.
You should be a reviewer.
To write about the KD burner scandal?
Amen proved himself to be such a bitch this series
You must be new to Amen, he has always been like this
Ausar >
Amen and Ausar are those two asgard twin warriors from saints seiya asgard arc. Syd de Mizar (Ausar) and Bud de Alcor (Amen)
Always has been
Amen has been awesome. He’s a dog
The Thompson twins will flame of of the league if they don’t develop a shot.
I mean their ceiling will be limited but they will have a role in this league for as long as they maintain their other worldly athleticism.
The issue is mostly likely they’ll be given a huge ass contract, like a max, in “hopes” that they will develop a more all around offense, because they’re so young. But they don’t develop beyond their athleticism, and teams/fans will be upset. Which is really the FOs fault for giving these guys huge contracts when they haven’t shown they’ll likely develop further.
They both finished in the top 10 in DPOY voting this year. Ausar was actually third. Both had great rebounding and good assist numbers for their position, and Ausar had great per-minute block and steal rates. Amen got his free-throw percentage up to 78%. They’re not going to flame out barring a serious injury.
Man that doesn’t matter if they’re a liability on the offensive end.
Their ceiling is Ben Simmons.
That doesn’t mean they’re going to “flame out of the league.” Ben Simmons also had injuries and didn’t give a shit. They may not turn into superstars but they’re still valuable players. Amen averaged almost 18 a game on just 14 shots with a 125 offensive rating! That’s not even a liability. He just isn’t a three point shooter.
No u
you’re just like the Rockets’ offense. Full of holes and no creativity
I mean he is a whittle man
I thought that was your mom
Surprised Amen didn’t try to toss him like Herro
Rui’s built big as hell. He’s not gonna go down as easily
And he knows judo
And he’s a samurai
The last samurai actually
No that’s Tom Cruise
Uhm actually
Actually he’s black samurai.
I was gonna say the title doesn’t refer to Tom Cruise in the movie lol
Yasuke
This is funny to me, because there was a recent anime called Love Through a Prism that makes that a running gag. It’s about a Japanese girl who goes to an art school in London in the early 1900’s. The first friend she makes constantly calls her a samurai.
Ahh yes, he knows his judo well
cuz rui is a tank while herro is built like a regular dude after few weeks of lifting
Amen only acts tough with guys he is bigger than
Amen looks like an NPC female character in a budget sci fi RPG
Valid
Thats some sore loser shit lmao. Dude should be happy opposing player actually tried to help his teammate when most guys would just ignore a falling player
LeDickerson will mention this for sure on his new dummy. 👀
@NotKevinDickerson ‘these bums so bad, they gonna lose in Cancun’
“These bums so bad their flight to Cancun overshoots and lands to the left”
Amen should have been ejected
And tries to injure AR after
That’s why he should be ejected
This is some Udoka shit. Would be nice if Udoka affected their jumpshots and halfcourt offense as much as he does their attitudes. lol
But, for real, tho… how you gonna have 2 of these Thompson dudes and neither can shoot? Did it like not occur to anyone grooming these dudes for the NBA that a jumpshot out to 3 point range might be useful?
You’d be surprised how far “can jump good” gets you in lower leagues.
Once you go against pros though they just cook you.
Still even without a jumper he’s got great defense, rebounding and can finish around the rim. He’ll get paid. You are right league does expose this weakness. They need to get him in the lab and get him an average 3 ball and a consistent midrange. If Andre Drummond can develop a 3 thompsons got no excuses
the stromile swift special
Thompson has such bad iq and it looks its not just bb iq. Durant was talking about that too right? Hes just so bad from what ive seen
tech
Udoka is the worst possible person to shape new players.
Sick of Amen and Sengun. Hate this Ime team. Happy to see them blown out. Maybe they’ll grow.
The longer this series went on the more I began to side with KD
The Rockets team is pretty unlikeable
They kinda remind me of Memphis a few years back
Also tried to injure reaves. Dirty player.
It was pretty sweet when Jake LaRavia of all people flatlined Amen with a screen in the backcourt during garbage time. Lol
Funny thing is sengun got tapped n he flopped fuck the whole team
Chill
ayo this guy a bitch
Down by 100 in the 4th gotta do something
Sengun also ignored Rui’s offer to help. Is that common in the nba if it’s from the opposing team? I remember seeing a similar scenario
Yes it literally happens all the time by everyone. Unless it’s really good friends they all wait for a teammate to help them up.
It happens all the time. But most people here dont watch games
Fuck you amen
Scrappy doo
Is he the evil twin?
I think peas n a pod more like it. #IronSharpensIron
Reddit bout to start calling Amen a “piece of shit” lol watch
On brand for Houston
To quote Jeremy Sochan “Yeah, fuck Houston”.
Rui never give you up
Rui never let you down
nobody here has ever been on a team lol. don’t touch my teammate
That’s the difference with international players and home grown talents
Awe cry
Is Amen Kuminga with better defense?
I think Amen is gonna be a great heel when he’s in his prime
What does Amen’s prime even look like?
His offensive game is so undeveloped. He was getting walled off by the likes of Jake LaRavia because he doesn’t have any advanced dribble moves. His 3pt shot is still atrocious.
And he’s also already 23. For a player who is so athletic (but kind of lacking in skill), I wonder if his prime is like 2-3 years away.
I saw one play and realized he has low iq. He had the ball at the 3 and Sengun was clearly cutting to the ft line, he would have an easy bounce pass to him for an easy play. Guess what Thompson was so lasered on the play they were gonna run (which had him give the ball at the 3 to a covered player) that he didnt bother to glance slighty to the left at the big ass white “running like he has tits” gorilla to notice wow thats an easy play
Teams will likely offer him a max. But they’ll be idiots because “potential”. He has value, but not close to max. I think he’s shown who he is, and who he’s willing to become. His prime is probably just a slightly better version of who he is now.
If this was a meaningless, or early-mid regular season game… helping an opposing player up wouldn’t be a big thing. Obviously the norm is you get your own guys up but it’s not uncommon to accept a hand from the other team. However, this is the damn playoffs, and a closeout game…and you’re up 20. I’m a Hachi fan but there was absolutely no reason or need for him to pick up Sengun. To me, it almost seemed like a sarcastic gesture at that moment (even if it was likely a genuine move).
The clip doesnt include him doing a pretty hard foul sending Sengun to the floor which is probably why he tried to help him up
I watched the entire game…hard foul or not, it’s a playoff atmosphere and any player getting knocked to the floor is not taking the hand of the other guy (that’s why Sengun put his hands on his chest and did not acknowledge Rui when Rui made the gesture.) We can shake hands at the end of the series.
I mean its not really a big deal, dont know why youre so bothered by it
Not bothered by any of it… The bigger focus of this thread is obviously the Amen shove, and because it’s Amen pushing one of the most likable dudes in the game. My point really was that the moment didn’t really call for Rui to be the “good guy”, with all the emotions and general vibe surrounding the game. I get mine is not of the popular opinion but while I don’t like Amen’s reaction, I can understand what he might be feeling while seeing an opposing player (Rui or anyone else on that team) looking to pick up your guy in game like this.
This thread is really showing their age. LeBron himself used to tell his teammates to not allow anybody but their teammates up.
Rui is Japanese
Japanese people are polite and kind. Westerners aren’t.
there we go
He is Japanese. Maybe it’s not a big deal to him.
nothing wrong with this lol you see this almost every game
Ok so there should be hundreds of clips of this happening from this season alone. Show some clips
This literally happens every game, guys pick up their own guys. It’s just one of those things
Where do you see players shove opposing players trying to help their teammate
We’re obviously talking about the shove. Show me some of the 2,000 clips of opponents shoving each other trying to help up a teammate since it happens LiTeRaLlY eVeRy GaMe.
Do you also see players dragging a guy by their arm while down 20 points and throwing him to the ground (who just came back from an oblique injury 2 weeks early) after a childish temper tantrum?
Makes ya think doesnt it
funny that i’m getting downvoted by lakers fans considering i am one myself. LOL also, i am talking about this action in general. not the reaves play. that one was dirty. I’m not defending Amen in any way but when we cry about every little thing, we start losing credibility as a fan base
Still, it’s a bad look to do this if you’re Amen. Down by 20 in a win or go home game. He also tried to injure a a star player of the opposing team while being thrashed. A bitch move is what that is.
Can’t believe all the people in here crying about this nothing push lol most guys don’t want to be helped up by the other team, that’s why it’s rare to see opposing teams helping each other up. Lol can’t believe they are making morality judgements about amen over this jfc
