EDIT: it got so bad right before they traded him that the team made him fly home commercial one time because he walked off the bench during a game.

I remember seeing that when it came out and thinking it made the entire exchange look worse on Murray than Hyland. It made Hyland seem like he’d overstayed his welcome and Murray seem insufferable to be around. Nuggets were right to get rid of Hyland as he wasn’t even an NBA level guard at that point and was complaining about minutes, but Murray under no pressure made himself seem super unlikable.

Hard to look at any part of this situation without coming to the conclusion that everyone involved was and probably still is immature at best.

Which should not shock anyone. Professional athletes being immature dicks is hardly a new phenomenon. They get paid ungodly sums to play a child’s game, and I’m very happy we get to enjoy that, but it’s not a career path that always lends itself to normal adults.
