Not for most teams, no. Now, for Minnesota, with their rather gruesome history, perhaps. But that’s too much for most teams to trade, and those trades have been disasters for the teams surrendering picks.

If for no other reason, by the time a player is a first-ballot Hall of Famer, they are sufficiently old that you’ve already missed their best years. Trading for who a player used to be, instead of who they will be for you, is tremendously unwise.
