FWIW, The Pistons 2nd leading scorer is averaging the same amount as the Magic’s 2nd leading scorer in this series. Cade isn’t alone completely out there…he’s alone in playmaking and often on the floor with 2 non shooters so everything in 2x harder for him.

If they simply had one other person else who can pass dribble and shoot…it’d make his life alot easier.

Historically, their success has always been about the collective. Isiah was Cade-like in his ball dominance during the Pistons’ first forays into the postseason in the early to mid-‘80s but at some point he realized they were much more dangerous when he shared the wealth with Joe, Vinnie, AD (then Aguirre), Laimbeer, etc. Their championship window was often really just a matter of which combo of players was going to come through with 20-something points a piece.

Interestingly enough, the 2000s Pistons were pretty similar. Chauncey had some “throw the team on my back” games in ‘03 but often it was just a matter of Billups, Rip, Tay, Sheed, Corliss (then McDyess) all chipping away collectively each night.

IMO the Knicks with Cade instead of Brunson are clearly the favorite in the east and real contenders.

He has 39 in game 1. Franz isn’t even the primary guy guarding him.

To be fair paolo had 45 9 and 7 (but did have 6 to) Tobias Harris has been having a strong post season. Thought he was kinda done but he’s been a key piece for them.

Still think Boston is the east team to beat and would be surprised if the west champ doesn’t go all the way.

Not too concerned about the lower assists aside from it meaning his teammates aren’t hitting shots, but yeah the TOs are an issue.
