I think he deserve more shit then Derrick for last night loss. Up 13 in the third quarter the game feel like it was about to be blown open, then he decide to hijack the offense instead went away from what was working (letting Tatum run the offense)

The blown 13 point lead was when Vuc checked in and helped Embiid score freely. Embiid had 10 points on Vuc in like a 3-4 minute span, and by the time the Celtics blinked it was a 1 point game.

Sure, the offense got a little ugly around that time, but you can’t just give the other team a run like that due to horrid defense.

For wannabe MVP candidates, the two Jays have very limited bags. Drive + layup, drive + pushoff into a stepback jumper, and sidestep 3pt shot. They thrive on being bigger/taller/faster than their defenders, otherwise very predictable.

I mean you say that like it’s a bad thing. The best shots in basketball are the simple ones - if you can get a bucket with pure size/length, you do it. And that’s what the Jays do.

Smaller stars have to get more crafty because they can’t just beat a defender with length the way JT can, or power the way JB can.

The Celtics were largely healthy (outside of Tatum) and they played a lot of teams who weren’t.

This combined with Joe getting the most out of a pretty unproven group and they were able to punch above their weight much of the season.

Getting Tatum back was supposed to give them a huge jolt - and it mostly has - but then you have games like last night and it makes you question everything.

Getting under the tax for no particular reason probably screwed them. They could have kept Jrue, Kornet, and Horford on their current contracts and still stayed under the 2nd apron.

Hawks are doing the same shit and it’s gonna cost them any chance at the series. Obviously the game slows down in the playoffs but there’s got to be a compromise between being super pass heavy/playing fast and abandoning everything that made your team good in the first place.

My Pistons have Cade who is a great point guard

The problem is two things:

he is a great play maker and 2nd in the league in assists but it doesn’t matter when you have little to no offensive firepower you’re passing to. Our guys simply can’t get buckets
the Magic have a lot of bigs and are an overall very physical team just like the Pistons, they have a great defense that’s wearing the Pistons down and Cade is forced to do too much, he’s over compensating for our lack of firepower and it’s forced him into bad turnovers and inefficient play

And shooting, every year we have good regular season teams with good records losing in the playoffs due to spacing, and every year we get new ones. Houston last 2 years, Detroit and Orlando (except the regular season part but they did have injuries again) for this season. I am not sure why Detroit did nothing, I mean I do I guess which was to see the team they had, but its still stupid
