De’Aaron Fox 20.2PTS 4REB 6.8AST 50%FG 37%3PT 65%FT as the spurs move on Beating the Trailblazers 4-1
Just played probably the best series of his career, also posting a 3.4AST/TO. Ran the point with class and precision he played a hell of a series.
His composure really settled the team in the 4th. That’s what we signed him for. Great great series (but for gods sake, make your FTs).
He’s so frustrating at the FT line this year lol
That’s his entire career when it comes to the free throw line lol
Which is weird, because apparently he is the best clutch free throw shooter in the league with a staggering 95.6% from the line. He sees also the largest improvement in the league from non-clutch FT% to clutch FT%.
Even in Sacramento he struggled with free throw shooting especially for a guy with a killer midrange, it’s strange
I honestly thought this had more to do with his surgery his fingers all messed up now and apparently it’s just gonna stay like that
+1!!!
Lots of so called Spurs fans shitting on Fox stating about his game, contract or whatsoever, but he was the Spurs General Floor Commander on the team.
I’m glad Spurs FO finesse Kings trade. 😁
He’s shooting such a low volume of FTs since refs didnt give him many calls
G1: 1-2 G2: 4-5 G3: 3-5 G4: 2-4 G5: 3-4
Absolute beast in both Games 3 and 4.
Extremely clutch buckets exactly when the Spurs needed them to shift the momentum.
You mean game 4 and 5 but he actually had clutch 5 points in game 3 when rhey needed a few more buckets to shut out Portland
His tone setting as seen in the 4th quarter in the last two games is what will justify the contract - the closing is what is important, as opposed to the raw numbers.
Yeah, you can see a future where Harper gets the car keys for closing games (Think Castle is just gonna be the 5-8 points a quarter type), but that future ain’t now. And when Harper IS ready? Getting to learn behind Fox will be huge
Game 3 was smaller but he did finish with 5 points in the last stand afain Blazers.
Just played probably the best series of his career
Tbh it’s only the second series of his career lol, and he averaged 27.4⁄5.4⁄7.7, 2.1 steals and 4 turnovers on .424/.333/.756 (.524 TS%) in that one, for comparison’s sake. Obviously was asked to do way more for Sacramento than he’s been asked to do for us
In the context of this team with like 6 other guys who can score, efficiency matters way more than individual production. That said, Fox is still 100% the guy on the team who you want to have the ball in his hands when the shot clock is winding down.
Good to see some vintage clutch Fox this series. Hope he continues it this playoff run.
Btw his defense is underrated. He’s been legit impressive as a defender in this series
Cp3 told him that he hated playing against him cause he was a disruptive defender !
I honestly didn’t know Fox had this in him. Probably wasn’t watching him closely enough when he was a kings player
Disruptive defense will tire you out. Fox doesn’t need to share so much offensive load here so he can play better D
Right. He is a sneaky good defender. You don’t expect him to be because of his size and small frame, but he plays excellent defense. He has speed to recover in switches, he has a strong base to stay in front of the offense, and of course he’s not called “swipa” for nothing.
Fantastic Mr. Fox to save the 4th!!
Fox is so streaky in general, but for what the Spurs gave up to get him he’s really been a huge factor in their success.
This is what gets forgotten in the discourse. The money isn’t bad either because his contract expires by the time we hit the period where we have to sign Harper, Castle and Wemby as well.
It was just the most ideal situation for us and instead of low balling or hesitating they pulled the trigger.
Not really streaky. He has scored above 17 every single game. His assists except game 2 and even turnovers have been stable.
Game 3 he didn’t neeed to score a lot but he had about 5 to 6 points to close out the game when needed. Game 4 and 5, the scoring was needed to close the series out
But he had a single bad game so his contract is the worst in the whole league, so says this very intelligent subreddit.
“Im good at basketball” - DeAaron Fox
I didn’t not think Harper Fox and castle would all be above average 3pt shooters in the playoffs.
Castle can nail the open shots. Teams have been leaving him wayyy to open.
In general we’ve picked up our chemistry in the second half of the season and this might be pouring from that.
It’s pick your poison at this point. Them leaving castle doesn’t mean they don’t respect his shot. They just don’t want wemby to get another lob from him again.
We’re about 6 days past this sub thinking that Fox is terrible and his contract will somehow single-handedly derail the Spurs.

the kings subreddit has been so miserable about him. hope he keeps it up
