To be fair, no one thought Castle would be that good and he wasn’t in consideration for the first pick at the time. Almost everyone considered Sarr and Risacher the top 2. Also, Castle was 4th, Reed Sheppard was 3rd.

Forget castle that’s not even close. There are at least a dozen other players from that draft class I would rather have right now without thinking about it. Bronny went 55 and he might end up having a better pro career.

not saying bronny is the better player, but it is absolutely crazy he’s getting playoff minutes while the no. 1 pick in his class is getting DNP-CD’s. risacher still has potential but that pick is looking worse and worse as he gets outplayed by his peers.

Simmons and Wiggins aren’t busts. Underwhelming for the expectations, maybe. But Wiggins was an All Star and a very important piece of a championship team and Simmons was a multi time All Star player and one of the best defenders in the league for a stretch.

Best players in their class, no. But that’s the difference between underwhelming and a bust.

He is, nobody is treating him like a #1 pick, not his team not his coach not his opponents and certainly not the media, he’s never talked about in the news and no media personality mentions his name or acknowledges him. Heck I’d forget he exists for months and only remember his name randomly scrolling through Reddit by a 22 upvoted post saying he didn’t play again.

I understand that. I’m not saying he should or should not. Atlanta was playing him until the end of the season and the postseason, where they actually needed to win games.

Not developing young talent is exactly why some teams stay dogshit while others rise.

It’s not just a rough postseason, offensively he was one of the worst players in the league during the regular season and it’s carried into the playoffs. He’ll be 32 before next season starts and has 2 more years on his contract.
