THE PHOENIX SUNS HAVE OFFICIALLY BEEN ELIMINATED FROM THE 2026 PLAYOFFS
With tonight’s loss to OKC the Suns have officially been eliminated from the postseason. After overachieving this year the Sun(s) have finally set.
FADE US
You know, considering their pre-season projection was 30.5 wins, you can’t be too disappointed.
I’m not for sure.
And they did what they did while having horrible injury luck. Suns honestly had a great season.
our sub is ready to blow it all up lol
Our sub is full of fucking idiots.
All subs are full of fucking idiots. This is a website of fucking idiots, myself included.
Can’t stand the nuggets one. Any valid criticism is “dooming”. God I fucking hate that word now
Hey! I resemble that remark.
Don’t check our sub
I just strive every day to not be as much of an idiot as the average American. And since the bar keeps getting set lower, I keep feeling good about myself.
Especially when you’re in Oklahoma (not that AZ is much better)
Even the mods crashing out lmao
It’s the bipolar nature of most NBA fanbases, this can also infect the really good teams so don’t worry.
What’s that supposed to mean — “even the good teams?!”
I have heard some people in say the Spurs fanbase complaining about this Blazer series when overall the series is going there way outside of game 2.
It’s just heavily based on vibes and if they recently won or lost their last game. My point was even if the team is considered the best team in the NBA by most, they can still have upset fans, depending on their last few games.
Blow what up lmao
I think they should. Not because losing to OKC but there’s really not much of a future. Not many kicks go forward and nobody young to actually build around.
I think its be mediocre 6-8 seed or blow it up
What good would blowing it up do when Suns don’t control their own 1st round pick until 2032?
You can still get picks back for Booker/Brooks and maybe JG.
You don’t have to fill on tank but they should at least see what kind of future assets they can get. This core is competitive and plays hard but is going to to be a play in team for the foreseeable future. To me I’d rather seem them try and get what they can and hope to hit in the draft. With the second apron coming for teams maybe they can get some young bad contract guys like MPJ Either make them part of the future or rebuild their value and trade them.
And hey, those picks might end up being just as good as Booker/Brooks who, you know, you actually have right now, and can get actual production from, instead of some theoretical player who might end up being as good as them, if you get lucky.
It could even be a boat!
Like I said…
Yall should blow it up especially in 2028 and 2030 for no particular reason
You need to build around brooks.
He was the best dude in the series for the Suns no doubt about that…but prob won’t get too far with him as the main building block
He actually cares about winning. He plays full out every minute he’s on the floor. You need players that will complement that intensity.
Suns were the 5 seed at one point coming off back to back wins on the pistons and cavs and then dillon brooks broke his hand
Don’t look at our sub lmao. Been in melt down mode for awhile now but it was always going to be extremely hard to succeed with green playing effectively a third of the season
There’s a user with a Suns flair in this thread saying the Suns should blow it up and I’m not sure if they know that the Suns don’t own their frp until 2032. What good would blowing it up do lol
Suns not being able to blow it up is kind of the crux of their current predicament, and it’s also what makes the job they’ve done patching up their roster on the fly pretty impressive.
If they could just find a decent big and a decent point guard, they could be back in the mix with the other 3-6 seeds.
There’s several people all over the place saying we should trade Book to Detroit for some reason, lmao
For some random picks who may or may not end up being as good as Booker lol
Some people would rather spend \(100,000 on lottery tickets than just enjoy the \)100,000.
And seeing as Detroit will be one of the Top 3 in the East for the forseeable future even without adding Book, those picks are gonna be 24th+ guaranteed. We’re not landing a new leading man that far into the draft.
Only one team will come out of the West. Many fans will be disappointed with their team sooner or later.
I’m so prepared I’m disappointed in you guys already.
We came. We saw. We’ll see ya next year.
You could have at least flagrant foul Dort or Chet for us.
No shame in running into a titan, honestly. Still a far better season than most expected, myself included.
Same here. It was a very competitive sweep, excluding game one. I was really not looking forward to playing this Suns team because they have really good scrappy talent, and it showed throughout the series
officiating skewed so far in yalls favor Book had to call an official by name for the first time in his 11 year career
That was probably it
All the talent in the world and yall still got Jared McCain flopping for a three at half court smh
The foul was before the shot lol
Foul was before he went up for the shot. McCain was trying to get the shooting foul.
Watch the games, not TikTok
Ok
we’d be swept for sure if the refs were good. Thanks lord for the refs
The Thunder just do not lose games to 8th seeds. SGA and the team are 12-0 against 8th seeds.
Technically 12-1 if you count Minnesota in the 2023 Play-In
Tho Chet was out that year
hell no we dont count that shit. That history was wrote in pencil.
Whenever his season ends NAW should be allowed to go to whatever team his cousin is facing.
I’ve never even heard of the year 2023
One of the highest floors as a team ever, it’s to be expected I’d say.
One of the more obvious sweeps I’ve seen
Suns overachieved this year in part because of how hard they played as a team which is admirable but they obviously don’t have anywhere close to the talent of OKC
I was expecting a gentleman’s sweep after the Rockets beat us yesterday. It’s still a great season for the Suns, and they overperformed expectations by a lot.
Somehow OKC never seems to get hit by random bullshit ref games. Like everybody gets bad calls, but I’m talking one like the Lakers got yesterday
Ahh yes, the ole blame the refs for a loss gimmick
Oh they were losing that game either way, but ejecting three players is when I start getting suspicious
2 of the ejections were in the last minute of the game when all the starters had been pulled because the gane was over. Shit reefing, sure, but no impact on the game at all.
Oh just gonna ignore Ayton’s ejection, or did that have no impact either?
If you think the Lakers were going to win that with Ayton in, I have a bridge to sell you. Lebron had one of his worst playoff games ever and the Lakers were 23% from 3, they were never winning it. And let’s not forget that the Lakers have the best FT differential in the league for 5+ years now, let’s not act like they’re some hard done by franchise.
I hate when y’all motherfuckers can’t follow the comment chain and make stupid ass points.
Jesus fuck reading comprehension is so important yet so lacking everywhere. The guy he replied to said it gets fishy at THREE ejections, the guy you replied to pointed out TWO of the three were irrelevant. Nobody said that the first ejection wasn’t fucking ass. Just that there is no conspiracy with it hitting 2 and 3 in the last garbage minutes of the game when the starters were sitting.
You’re really going with “the refs” as the reason the rockets won that game, and not the fact that LeBron played a bottom 1% playoff game by his standards? lol.
A team as jump shooting heavy as the suns is never going to get an avalanche of contact / fouls anyway.
I thought they’d get at least one by guess not.
This was the one to win but ya’ll shot the fuck out of the ball all game
This one made me clench up a little bit
Dawg and the power of friendship can only take you so far.
They overachieved despite a ton of injury bad luck, but they really seemed to struggle when everyone was back together. Suns have a ton of questions to answer going into the offseason, but they at least have something to build upon and some pretty good rookies to develop.
I expected at least one game where at least 2 of the 3 between Booker / Brooks / Green were all on in the same game. Never happened, thankfully.
I came away with a new respect for Brooks. He’s a pest, but he’s a culture guy and floor raiser. Unique player.
suns fans should be stoked it took this long to see this post. great season.
Getting swept is still a tough way to end the season…but considering where they were last year, you’d take the progress either way lol
swept by okc is different though lol
Exactly. Okc is a great team
100%. After the last 2 years this one was fun as fuck.
We ran into the fucking Thunder without 2 of our starters for the majority of the series, only getting Grayson back for a few minutes here and there. No shame
Better to be a Suns fan right now than a Pistons fan. High expectations will crush a fan’s soul.
maybe, pistons still in a good position overall but their vibes are lowwww rn lol
Arent they down 3-1?
good position overall as in future outlook
Ah, gotcha
Fans gotta be heartbroken at the moment tho, no? My dads from Detroit- we talk shit about sports in our family a lot - but I actually decided to chill a bit after this one cause buddy was genuinely not happy haha
Edit: which you did say, vibes are low.
Got it.
I’m catching up
lmao you good
“He played great and we won – it’s perfect.” Shai lmfao. Shoutout Dillon Brooks. Best player on the Suns this series.
Honestly the fact suns made it as far as they did is pretty crazy to me. Not surprised OKC beat them easily but I thought they would be a max 30 win team this year
They were the mini Pistons in terms of bringing consistent effort and punching above their weight on a nightly basis over 82 games (and 2 play-in games). Have to be pleased with their season. Replenished their depth. Even got Maluach some playoff run. A good year for them.
As with the Blazers, the challenge will be figuring out how to move from respectable to great. That is arguably the harder step, and I don’t know what levers are available to them.
Brooks was the reason they even got to the play-in and playoffs. A win trade for the Suns
Trade win
It was right there
Nobody who has traded for KD has ever won the trade.
The amount of hate Brooks was getting towards the end of his Memphis tenure was crazy. People on here were saying he’s not an NBA player. Glad he has showed out the last 2 years
Career year for Dillon Brooks. His stock is through the roof right now.
Fade me.
Overall exceeded expectations I can’t complain. Was a million times more fun than the Brad Beal KD years
As a Thunder fan its really bizzare to witness how unfun KD methodically getting exactly 25ppg night after night w/ a permanently frozen frown on his face has become on top of being a locker room cancer.
He was such a fun, dynamic talent in OKC able to score at all 3 levels at will and he did a lot of it w/ a smile on his face and was arguably the league’s most likeable guy and easy-to-root for story.
It really wasn’t KD’s fault, he was the best player on our team at the time. Giving up the world to get him was the real issue. Today’s best teams are not about the “big 2-3” anymore and last year enforced that if the repeated failures this last 5-6 years hasn’t shown. Coaching was also a big factor.
I stopped watching frequently during the KD era tbh because I knew it would fail but this year was a blast for me to watch. Reminded me of watching the Suns leading up to the bubble season and to the finals years. Just such a fun team that all played together. This year with a big focus on defense!
Big 2, or at least one all time contender and his all-star fringe pal, is still viable, but yeah you need every stars aligning to create another Warriors dynasty in the future. Shai+Chet and deep role players meta is going to be the future.
Some of our dumbass fans are crashing out wanting to trade the entire team for not beating the best team in the world lmao. It’s especially funny since no one thought this team was going to be competitive this season.
Ring or bust culture is so dumb. At this point let Booker ride out his prime in the valley, he loves playing for yall and loves the city and your team is so much more fun than those dreadful 2010s post-Nash years.
Maybe you can engineer a Danny Ainge mastermind end-of-prime trade to get picks once he’s starting to fall off but for now just try to retool again.
Right. Back then people were just happy to have players like Melo to even get to 50 wins and make their team fun to watch. Now everyone whine, even if the team truly punch their weight above the weight class.
For the first time in a while I’m actually optimistic which can’t be a good sign
A true suns fan
If i was suns fan i would only be disappointed that Maluach and Fleming didnt play enough but outside that, This was decent season for suns to be competitive
Dear lord, if you guys ever win a championship with Dillon Brook I’m gonna buy into what ever the hell he is thinkin pregame. That dude is either thinkin’ quantum physics or how his 7th grade math teacher disrespected him in front of the whole class.
I have a ton of respect for the Suns honestly. There was obviously a huge talent gap in this series and the Suns were down guys on top of that, but I love the physical, swarming ball they play - reminds me of OKC. I hope the FO can figure out where to take this roster because Jordan Ott clearly knows what he’s doing.
OKC and Indiana have set the standard for the league. Incredible depth, great team play on both ends.
Yeah, it reminded me of the playoff Pacers too. You guys just need your star guard, shame Booker has regressed this year.
It’s really just the three point shot that dropped off this season. His scoring everywhere else has still been efficient.
He obviously didn’t put up numbers this series, but I’d credit that more to the OKC defense than anything else, although he still deserves some blame for lacking aggressiveness at times.
They need a proper point guard
Booker & Green are 2 guards, also Mark Williams being healthy probably would have helped. We owned the paint
Suns Chris Paul would have made this team a real threat
Colin Gillespie is good suns gotta keep him
Hopefully for not too much. He’s been rough the last couple of months.
Good. He was getting kind of expensive hopefully he’s affordable again lol
I think part of that might be how expanded his usage became compared to previous years. If it continues into next year then yes, it’s definitely an issue but I’m cautiously optimistic.
Definitely that, but also he became a guy that teams actually game planned for. They definitely started running him off the line and forcing him inside, where he isn’t a good finisher.
As long as no one offers him more than $13M, we can keep him
I know they got swept, but they still put up a decent fight against the Thunder
did they? they lost by 10+ points in every game lol
actually lost by 9 in this game 🤓
shoutout to jamaree bouyea
This guy always roasts us. I’m surprised he didn’t get more minutes this series.
It’s the tradition of random role players going off against OKC in the reg season.
An inspiration and example to anyone who doesn’t believe in the G-League and two way players. The League is so talented, finding peripheral players without picks isn’t an impossible task. A competent FO goes a long way.
I thought it’d be worse lmao
Brooks, Booker, and Green are very very good players, and were a big reason why it was closer, but the talent gap in the 4 and 5 was just so massive.
Honestly, compared to how we (Lakers) did in the regular season against OKC, they put up a decent fight.
didnt the thunder beat you by like 45 this season
we welcome the suns to shit talk the lakers.
Ya’ll really about to get your teeth kicked in so
Wizards flairs can’t be serious
They were unofficially eliminated as soon as Portland beat them in the 7-8 game. None of them, Clippers or Warriors had a hope in hell of taking even one game against OKC.
If the Warriors were fully healthy including Butler and KP than you always have a chance w/ Steph Curry but otherwise yeah
I mean they weren’t so
I give that team a decent chance against anyone, but it wasn’t meant to be.
Then they won’t end up at 8
Nice season terrible ending
We choked so many games and therefore couldnt get out of 7th
That portland playin was embarrassing
Hopefully a learning experience with vs OKC
But this team was never ever healthy all year.
Booker CANNOT be the main ball handler
As a Thunder fan I don’t understand yall’s continued multi-season Point Book experiment. He was lethal as a classic off-ball SG w/ a traditional pass-first PG. I know its easier said than done to find that PG especially nowadays when all guards seemingly are score-first but yall already figured out how to make your team work lol, you went to the Finals and were a #1 seed.
I think it’s simply that after we traded CP3 we never found a replacement table setter and Book was the only one with the passing vision to even try.
I kinda hoped CG would make that leap this year, but he stumbled a bit in the back half and admittedly with trying to have Booker and Green in the starting lineup he’s not a great fit.
Not at all a terrible ending. The Thunder are a historic, Suns are an 8 seed. Booker is obviously flawed as a first option and that’s valuable information for the Suns FO. Just think back to last season, fantastic improvements.
It’s a group that’s moving in the right direction, and the front office now has a clear picture of what they need to do over the off-season. The West is always going to he crowded with contenders, but I think there’s room for Phoenix to take a step up next season and be right there in the mix to at least fight for a WCF berth.
I’m standing strong on OKC not losing a game till the conference finals
Next round could be interesting not knowing the Luka/AR timeline…. If they hold on of course
I don’t think Luka will play in these playoffs. If he does he’ll be on one leg and will be easily exploited on defense.
I think the Lakers take a game at home. It wouldn’t shock me.
what i gathered from this season is devin booker is exactly the type of player the world thinks shai is.
that $70mil a season going to age like milk
Maybe post this in a few more threads so you get the attention you crave so bad
yeah it’s a bit weird how no-flairs just seem to love posting agenda-slop. Like yeah he had a bad series and was frustrated as do other players against OKC. but to spin it like this is just plain oddball behavior.
That actually has been him this season, been so annoying. Find your spots, get your shots. I get he gets contact but just play through it.
Arizona sports hell is eternal!
They saved us from a Yankees 4 Peat but at the expense of everything
Corbin Carroll save us
Team got better with Durant gone and Brooks in. Overachieved. Great team.
I know KD was already starting to fall off in Phoenix but I certainly didn’t predict they would’ve already won that trade lmao. At the time it seemed like Houston got him for basically nothing.
rockets became a playoff team when they got Brooks too. he’s a floor raiser
He really is a cultural foundation. You can tell with how the Grizzlies fell off after they got rid of him. Since he left Memphis, they had an snake-bite season, a 1st round exit via sweep, and another snake-bite season combined with the rebuild flags being raised over the organization.
Suns fans have to admit that getting swept by a defending champs in the first round was far better than they were expecting from this season.
With better injury luck and a year of this group playing together. They will decent next year as long their owner doesn’t do anything too crazy.
Matt Ishiba gonna trade the rest of his picks for Zion or Ja lol
The suns got farther into the playoffs this year without KD than last year when they had him.
Didn’t even make the play in lol
https://i.imgur.com/k1DtOMg.jpg
I mean yeah.
Was hoping for one. Its okay team. We tried. We’ll get em next year.
Probably the only time I can say that getting swept doesn’t hurt. This was such an enjoyable season considering all the pessimistic projections before it began.
Dillon the villain legacy series tho
We all knew it was coming. OKC Dynasty is just too good at this point in time.
Future is far brighter than anybody told us it would be though.
solid season
making playoffs is more than anyone expected
GG suns bro was some fun games to watch, appreciate the banter
Suns season went MUCH BETTER than expected, Phoenix fans should be proud of their team. They also have a great coach now in Jordan Ott.
We played our best overall game of the series, OKC just hit dagger 3’s to stop our runs EVERY SINGLE TIME. Every single time! It was insane
After last season, making the playoffs this season is a great first step to rebuild again
Okc Spurs is the only series that matters tbh
Celtics have a great shot at it too
Celtics can win if their shots are falling
Feels like the magic game just ended
As much as a hate Dillon brooks you have to respect his hustle, Truly a unique player
He grew on me a lot this series. He brought it every night, sometimes was the only one.
A team like the suns deserves to have a decent shot at a top 4 pick instead of getting rewarded with a scrappy one
Unfortunately we don’t get either this year, our FRP is swapped so far to hell that we don’t even get a pity pick. Nothing to be done though.
We’d happily accept a scrappy one at this point
Hell sure that Devin Booker extension is worth every penny
I’d take this sweep over the Wolves sweep all day every day.
Can’t take away from their season, but you wish they’d made the series more competitive that would’ve been the cherry on top.
Book it…
See what I did there?
No shame in going out the way they did. OKC’s just better. We’ll be joining you in the 2nd round when OKC sweeps us. We’re too banged up, too shallow a lineup, and too poor a matchup to really challenge OKC this year.
https://imgur.com/a/XY38st9
Welp, gg adjacent
The suns set to Cancun
To Galveston
With that dirty ass water
Shaq wheezing noises
Cancun is like a winter wonderland compared to Phoenix
Joining you guys soon…
Shocking that this was the only sweep in the first round.
I gained some respect for Brooks this series. He was the best player on that Suns team
got rid of KD and the culture has never been better. fuck yeah Suns bros. GG
You guys got a solid season coming up, lots of roster decisions to make, good injection of culture by means of Dillon Brooks, and there ain’t no quit in most of your guys. This was just the result of running into a great team, but there’s a lot to be proud of for your season.
The Suns were a fun watch. Hope they can keep Brooks, he makes the series more fun on the court. I don’t think I’ve ever seen SGA so vividly animated in a first round series since his rookie year on the Clippers.
Well its not like the warriors would do any better, that play-in was basically fighting over who gets to be fed to SGA
Next we sweep the lakers
Was caps lock just absolutely jammed in for some reason or do you need assistance?
Play in teams must be really happy with that lottery pick in a stacked draft
The Suns have lost 10 straight playoff games.
hell yeah, we’re going for the record. Already set the record for 58 seasons without a championship.
What if the Warriors were the 8th seed? Would they get one? 🤔
probably same outcome, maybe a little worse in teams of final score each game.
