IMO this was always going to happen to Detroit unless they played the hornets lol. Seems like in the nba it’s always the same pattern. Young team looks good in the regular season gets smashed in the post season and goes farther the next year so forth an so on.

It really will depends on how Cade develops, I know Cade got mvp consideration but he’s not a top 5 player yet, there’s still a lot in his game he can improve and taking that step to be top 5 will be the difference maker between the Pistons making that OKC leap or ending up lik the grizz. Also the pistons need a better no. 2 than Duren.

More so than Cade they need the #2 and #3. OKC already had Chet and JDub on their roster the first time they made playoffs. Pistons #2 in playoffs is Tobias Harris.

Cade will look better once he has someome else that can create a shot.

Yeah, he is being slandered now, but when you don’t have secondary ball handler, no shot creator next to you, not much spacing and bigs mostly good on the paint (and in the way), it is almost certain you will turn into a turnover machine handling the ball right into a tightened D. His shooting weakneses of course add to this but not solely on him.

Honestly, that team looked a lot better in the playoffs. Having THJ/Beasley/Schroder gave them a lot more shooting and creation outside of Cade. Their offense just looks brutal, especially with Daniss having a rough series

The burden of creation on him is way too much. Cade is a good player, but teams can just load up the paint, clog the passing lanes, and force the others to beat them.

Jenkins is the only other dude who can consistently create a shot.

Cade has always been prone to games where he misses a bunch of shots and has too many turnovers .

The supporting cast isn’t helping, but they’re just exacerbating flaws that already exist.

I also think you could swap out Cade for a good number of other stars and they’d handle the flawed roster better
