VJ, Harper, and CMB each winning their teams a playoff game as a rookie is absolutely WILD. Positive post season contribution in the first year is already rare, let alone this level of contribution.

I really wanted him last year, thought he would’ve fixed our biggest weakness and super charge the Chet at 5 lineups.

That recurring thumb issue probably kept him from being a Rookie first-team lock next to Edgecombe. He really seemed like he was poised to move into Poetl’s spot midway through the season.

Man I thought all the way in college it was clear what his potential was but people were so obsessed with limited shooting numbers. He jumped out as a 1-5 defender similar to Draymond, Ben Simmons, Scottie and averaged 17 a game.

I would say it’s more like what the cavs defense is giving him, rather than a hot streak. Would be interesting to see how it carries forward to the next round or next season.

Unless the Cavs are going to double CMB and gameplan against him, he’ll be fine. His shots have been mostly layups and floaters over their bigs. Not like he’s shooting jump shots or creating shots which is more in relation to a hot streak.

For instance, Scottie is having a hot streak.

Its wont be that far fetched soon.

Neither can create for themselves but CMB is a better finisher, more versatile defender, better passer and better motor.

If CMB becomes a decent shooter, he is basically a premier role player and better than Mobley

2nd best player in the series. If you just look at advanced stats, it looks like CMB and Scottie are literally dragging the rest of this team to wins.

TBH, their one real hole long term is a lead guard.

IQ is fine as an off ball PG, however they still need that paint touch guard who can facilitate. (Kinda like a combination of IQ/RJ as a player).

Just need a real first scoring option.

Scottie and CMB are both amazing defensive players, Scottie can do everything in the game at an elite level……except scoring.

He wasn’t low in the rotation, he was dealing with constant injuries. Injured his thumb on his dominant left hand to start the season, kept aggravating it(Harden actually hit it hard enough to make him miss multiple games partway through the season), and had 2 separate shoulder injuries from guys just wrapping him up. Had some rough “rookie” games as well, but for the most part when he played he was awesome. Started ²²⁄₅₆ games played for us, as an undersized center as well.
