Consider yourself lucky. I am in Toronto and my very first NBA game had them on b2b then AD tweaked his ankle the previous game so he sat out then LBJ load managed and so I got to see Westbrook build house brick by brick. Thing is I only get one chance to see them live. Sucks to be a Laker fan at the other side of the coast.

This is a classic situation in the playoffs where a team on its last legs bravely fights off a sweep only to get blasted the next game. Bron has been here before. He knows this game was lost - he decided to reserve his energy.

Similarly disappointing story, but with a twist. I was in high school during that early 2000’s Pistons run. The only time I’ve ever seen LeBron was the 25-straight in the 4th against Detroit. We went to that game for a field trip and almost everyone was devastated that this kid wrecked our team. The only solace was that may have been the start of a legend and it kind of was.

Is that why he was still out there when they were down by 26? I was wondering why he was wasting his energy in a lost game, but now it all makes sense. Had to hit 10 points.

Not surprising psychologically. It’s normal to let up for a game when up 3-0 and facing a road game anyway, plus the team is missing 2 starters and LeBron is 41 and they are worn out from an OT game. Makes sense they’d end up relaxing, just making sure they get through the game intact, and then they can play game 5 at home while rejuvenated a bit.

He definitely seems out of rhythm in the first half, but he was facilitating a lot to get the other guys in gear to keep it close. Pretty standard loss you see in a Gentleman’s sweep scenario. They definitely need to be careful though because Houston has more healthy offensive talent and will be favored in every game.

I once shelled out top dollar to go see AD and Lebron play at Target Center when they were in town. It wasn’t a B2B so i figured we’d have good odds seeing these guys play. AD, as is tradition, got hurt the game before so he was out. We were still excited to see Lebron then they announce he’s sitting for rest. I dug deep down in my bank account to end up watching Kat and Wolves take on Austin Reeves and the Lakers. God i was pissed

Im 36 and like yourself I’ve watched thousands of LeBron games but have only seen him live once. It was this year at Barclays Center vs the Nets. He was fucking phenomenal.

I feel your pain. I went to the Cavs game in 2018 where they got absolutely blown out by the rockets and traded half the team after. LeBron scored 11 points and sat out the whole 4th.

Honestly would’ve been better for the Lakers to sit him for rest and give the game away officially. It buys more time for AR and Luka and gets LeBron rest.

He had 9 turnovers last game too. These Lakers turnovers are alarming and no ones talking about them. They’re gonna get pulverized by the Thunder

2008 ecsf game 1 will always be his worst playoff game (2-18, 10 turnovers, missed a layup with under 10 seconds left to tie the game in a series that would eventually go 7 games). The first 4 games of that series (he was shooting in the 20%s through the first 4 games) is probably the worst stretch of basketball he ever played and somehow the series was tied after 4 games lol.

Obviously this wasn’t a needed game so hard to summon the energy for it, but this is the concern for LeBron moving forward in the playoffs. OKC is going to be super physical with him and give him no space. The Lakers are going to need big minutes from him, and to expect him to do it every game is too tall a task. They really need Luka and Reaves back, but both coming off injuries will make them at least somewhat limited against OKC. Lakers have to get rid of the Rockets in Game 5 so this doesn’t drag out into a long series, because you can tell the Rockets strategy is going to be physical defense and that will take its toll.

Imagine if the Rockets comeback from 3-0…
