Usually this type of shit is only in the regular season, the playoff whistle use to be somewhat better.

Like when Harden used to get called a ton of whistle and it gets significantly reduced in the playoff.

In the National Lacrosse League, if (after a game has been completed and reviewed) a ref is found to have missed obvious calls, or made frivolous calls, that ref serves a suspension and i believe a fine. Right now, it’s playoffs, so if refs are found to have made a bad call even once, their suspension is for the rest of playoffs and finals, because there’s too much at stake for teams.

Why not have every single NBA game audited by a panel of officials. Publicly announce any discrepancies, reversals, etc. If any ref makes more than 3 egregious mistakes in a season, fire them. Start making them pay money for mistakes.

Also, make refs serve term limits. Only 4 years, then you’re out. Or allow teams and coaches to publicly vote on 4 refs to be fired at the end of the season. Include and publicize this vote on draft night.
