Yah he has better feet and agility than Scottie. Scottie makes up for it with length so he can get some good contests but for the most part quick guards can turn the corner on him. CMB can legit chop his feet and guard most guards in the league above the break. Darko earlier in the year said that CMB has god given hands.

I think Jokic is a weird comparison to look at him vs Sengun and Jokic. He’s in a different stratosphere as a defender already while being a 6’7 big and even if he becomes a shooter half of why Jokic is so good is because he’s that kind of shooter as a 7 footer who can also pass and post up. CMB is also much more athletic than those 2.

He’s more physically like Dray and Ben Wallace while I think he’s more of a perimeter defender than those 2. He’s more athletic than Dray and has shown less as a playmaker but in college was more of a driver to score than Dray was which he hasn’t really gotten to show as much in the NBA yet.

CMB makes me confident that Boozer will have a similar impact. Their games aren’t flashy but SO steady and oozing of basketball IQ, which is key to a contending team.
Boozer will be far better on one end, worse on the other. But really the game that is probably more like Boozer is Banchero, and Boozer is a far better shooter. And Banchero is leading his team over the #1 Pistons.

Boozer’s game is nothing like Banchero because of a single major difference. I know what you are trying to say but their basketball iq, which is arguably the single most valuable trait a player can have, is on the polar ends of the spectrum. A high basketball iq player should never be compared to a low basketball iq player since it’s such an important skill.
If you want to talk about a good outcome for Boozer, his game will be a more modern day version of older but taller Charles Barkley on the Suns after his injuries, so similar athleticism. Just take away all the midrange jumpers Barkley took and make them 3s for Boozer, with a more efficient FT percentage, and the rest of the game, including the defensive question marks, will be similar. People forget that Barkley was a terrific passer and could handle the ball with the Suns, especially in an era where PFs were never offensive hubs and had an excellent footwork and use of angles to go along with his strength, to compensate for his loss of athleticism.

I guess we think of basketball iq differently then, which is fine, since I’m big on basketball iq as an attribute.
I think of it as a huge multiplier in multiple dimensions if that makes sense. It’s a little different than like 35 percent from 3 versus 40 percent from 3 (on similar volume and difficultly) as that’s an actual percentage difference with maybe some small multiplier effect on scoring gravity for teammates. I think of basketball iq as a scalable multiplier in multiple dimensions so that it isn’t just that it helps increase efficiency, but also playmaking, understanding spacing, understanding defensive concepts, defensive awareness, and the ability to be coached and improve at a faster rate, a lot of which don’t show up on the ordinary box score.
Banchero is a solid player but even if they win this series, I don’t really see him making it to the Finals as the number 1 option long term. He might even have a tough time as the number 2 option, but I see Boozer at least having that potential as a number 1 or number 2 option on a good team.
From my understanding Boozer is supposed to come in a much better shooter than CMB

Underrated part about his rebounding game too is that he is able to MAKE the passes to the open three. That’s exactly how BI got his three if I’m not mistaken that turned the tide.
Feel like the offseason plans for Toronto are changing before our eyes. This team needs to clear the way for as many CMB minutes as they can, and need to find a way to maximize his fit alongside Barnes.
