They didn’t WANT the Wolves. They benched everyone besides Joker and he only played until halftime to record game 65. Their bench played out of there minds, Wemby sat due to injury and the Spurs couldn’t hit a shot

Man sometimes I see posts here that make me question if I live in the same reality as the rest of y’all.

Did we all just forget that the Nuggets rested all of their starters save Jokic, who only played so he could be awards eligible? They ended up beating the Spurs, who were also resting players, and as a result they drew the Wolves. Now we’re gonna act like this is karma for “choosing” to play the Wolves? Do you not remember what happened? Are you being willfully ignorant? Are you Skip Bayless?

In Brian Windhorst podcast after the day of the regular season, he and Bontemps said that the Nuggets were actually avoiding the Timberwolves but it was unfortunate that they lead early and the Spurs despite having the majority of their rotational players failed to mount a comeback.

I just don’t think it’s good basketball karma to intentionally lose games to manipulate standings.

To this day I still don’t know what either of our intentions were - Minnesota’s core (since 2023) was built specifically for the Denver matchup, but Denver seemed to have our number, and we were looking to bounce them onto the other side of the bracket.

In short, the ideal outcome for both of us was for Denver to lose, but we kind of half assed it (or just bricked sitter after sitter, you decide) and here we are, with the Nuggets staring down the barrel and us having to face either them (if they somehow get out) or Minnesota.

Did you watch the last game? It was the end of their bench. You could not determine whether or not they wanted the Wolves from that.
